Well done Lilleth, very impressive in this awful weather. The wind! Dreadful.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 26/03/2013 22:00

Yay Lilleth!
Insanity USB stick didn't work on our tv or ancient laptop so did fit test off YouTube. Some couple from the USA videoed themselves and I copied them! Botch job.
Hopefully will get it sorted tomorrow.

Bssh, I really am not a machine, just in the habit of exercise now. Not naturally sporty at all.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 26/03/2013 22:00

Feck me Double that is brilliant. I bet you can tell but the clothes are hiding it.

Randall I finks you're brilliant so I hope that those woes jog right on.

Runners. I salute you! Weight lifting dudes I admire you.

I am joining Bambi in hopping back on the bus. I have been good and bad on the eating but terrible on the boozing, hangover carb meeting and exercising. So I feel like I fell off the bandwagon big time. The batteries on my scales need replacing so not looked at damage but anticipating 3-4lbs increase.

Tomorrow I am fasting and going to the gym. I stupidly when pissed in the sun agreed to run a 10k race with a pal. It's in five weeks. I have no idea how far I can run and it's too cold to take any clothes off to go running

I have missed the Chiefs!

BambieO · 26/03/2013 22:16

Ah tea we are back in business!

The run will be great, you can always speed walk for a period if you need to but I'm sure you won't!

I have missed this good feeling of being healthier, it makes me feel so wonderful haha it really does! I don't know why I fell off this blasted wagon Grin

dinkydoos · 27/03/2013 06:53

Despite the big blow out of weekend, felt ok ish this morning so got on scales and have lost a pound. And it's fast day today as well. It's v slow but I can easily manage this 5:2 lark.
tea had a sneaky peek at your diary, made me smile, pain au chocolat always a good hangover cure! Was the wedding break great? And we're you all skinny in your dress, with people all commenting on how thin you were? Grin

DoubleMum · 27/03/2013 07:11

Tea you're back! Hope it was wonderful. The bandwagon is just in your neighbourhood, hop on.
Great news Dinky, well done.

OP posts:
Tabbykat · 27/03/2013 07:47

Morning! Cannot face going for a run today. Feel all hot in the head and cold and shivery elsewhere - think I'm coming down with something. V bad day foodwise yesterday - was under on calories but was not exactly a healthy day! Feel like just crawling back to bed but sadly kids will have other ideas. At least I should be under today as can't face the thought of any food......

DoubleMum · 27/03/2013 08:44

Sorry Tabby that sounds like what we had. Not nice. Hope you feel better soon.

OP posts:
RandallPinkFloyd · 27/03/2013 08:48

Tea! How was the wedding? Very jealous of you're balmy climes, I'm right slap bang in the middle of snowmageddon.

Well done Dinky Smile

Massive kudos to Lizzy the machine and all you runners. Just the idea of it is giving me the shivers.

Hope you don't come down with anything tabby, fingers crossed it passes.

DarklydreamingofDamon · 27/03/2013 10:26

Cheers guys, (Tabby here but have changed so have same username on here and MFP, less confusing hopefully!).

Have dosed up with tablets and am planning to get all work out the way this morning so I can have an hour or two on the sofa with a rubbish film this afternoon while DD2 at pre-school. And even better, there is a v small glimmer of sunshine outside - still bloody freezing tho!

BsshBossh · 27/03/2013 11:44

Oh no, Darkly hope you feel better before Easter. Sending get well vibes to you. Dinky well done and it's so good that you've found something that works for you :) Welcome back Tea!

Been thinking about my holiday weightloss strategy and have decided I am going to carry on as usual so will fast tomorrow, then eat normally for Good Friday and the weekend, fast on Monday (will just have to explain to houseguests if they ask) then back to normal on Tuesday. Will definitely continue going to the gym as there will be many babysitters for DD.

Onward and downwards!

BsshBossh · 27/03/2013 12:12

Someone on the 5:2 thread mentioned the "Calculate your true weight" on the Dukan (bleugh!) website. It takes into consideration things like how many pregancies you've had, whether you're small/medium/heavy framed, your age etc, what's the lowest weight post-18yo you've been that's the highest weight, what's the most stable weight you've ever been, does your family have a tendency to put on weight etc. You fill in all the details and it calculates the most appropriate target weight for you.

It's very good and calculated my target weight to be a lb above my own target Grin. I also learned, using the index finger and thumb around the wrist trick, that I am heay framed. Who knew!

I gave it an old email address I hardly ever use as I am sure they will spam me persuading me to join Dukan but...

www.dukandiet.co.uk/en/350-subscribe.html

BsshBossh · 27/03/2013 12:13

*heavy

DoubleMum · 27/03/2013 14:08

I just did that Dukan calculation Bssh, and it gives my 'true weight' as 168 lbs which is just into the obese category for my height!
Is that wrist grip thing really an indicator for bone structure? I can't anywhere near put my fingers round my wrist.

OP posts:
LillethTheCat · 27/03/2013 14:31

Firstly is anyone else having problems on MFP?

Thanks for that link Bssh My true weight is 9st 11, which TBH I think is about right. Although the website said I could be there in 190 days, Im happy just taking time over it and getting there in a couple of years. I know it sounds like I wont need to do much, but my strategy is to lose over summer and maintain (or at least not put much on) over winter. I decided this last year and so far its worked. This year Im using MFP so it should be easy until I forget

Well done to all the gym goers and other runners. Good luck with training for a 10K tea a little bit on a treadmill 3 times a week and you will be there, but remember its much harder running outside than inside so I find anyway, but of course other people may find its the other way round.

Hope you get better soon Darkly

I have walked to the Drs and back this morning, tomorrow its a track session with my running club, Fri Im going to go for a 4 mile walk, Sat it's Parkrun then Sunday rest in terms of my fitness.

BsshBossh · 27/03/2013 15:59

Double I like how the Dukan calculator takes into a wide variety of factors into account, unlike the standard BMI calculators. Bit obviously this doesn't mean the Dukan calc is accurate either. 168lbs is a nice goal - you can see how you look and feel when you get there.

DoubleMum · 27/03/2013 16:40

OK who broke MFP then

OP posts:
kalidanger · 28/03/2013 10:00

MFP is working this end, thank god Grin

RandallPinkFloyd · 28/03/2013 11:12

I'm scared of that calculator thing after reading this. My wrists are tiny Sad

Anyway, another 2lb off. 12lb to healthy which means if I keep this up I could be healthy in 6 weeks time. Eeek Grin

RandallPinkFloyd · 28/03/2013 11:19

Bollocks, it agrees with my goal more or less. Thats 32lb away, waaaaaah.

DoubleMum · 28/03/2013 12:54

Fantastic Randall. You're doing so well. Soon you'll be a positive sylph.
This afternoon I have an easter egg hunt with tea and cake, so it looks like there will be a lot of turning things down to do. My lovely mum has already told me what's cooking over the weekend and it's basically 2 roast dinners so I should be able to manage that fairly easily. And nobody is getting me chocolate and they are getting DH alcohol-free beer. I love my mum. Grin
The only BAD thing about this weekend is we have to leave the baby bunnies and we'll miss them. Sad

OP posts:
LillethTheCat · 28/03/2013 13:09

Well done Randall

I was thinking how well I was doing not weighing myself for a week, then I remembered I weighed myself on Monday, but Ive done well not jumping on the scales since.

Been buying far too much cake this week at shopping Blush. Good job I have an exercise routine planned, just got to stick to it now.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 28/03/2013 14:41

Randall. Great progress there Chief. It didn't take me long to get from the top of healthy to target so don't despair. By the Summer hols you could be there, on current progress, which frankly is amazing.

Lilleth I am vair impressed at an exercise plan. And I may have said it before but I love cake.

Double mmmmmm. roast. If your Mum has room for another I'll see you there tomorrow Grin I hope I get a chocolate egg. I suspect I won't because no-one will want to get in the way of good progress. Oh well. I shall buy myself a Lindt bunny.

I've just weighed myself and I put on one lb whilst away so not so bad. Will be fasting Friday and Monday. Dukan Dan says I'm 4lbs away from ideal weight which is 2lbs heavier than my target. So hoping that by the time of my 10k race I'll be there. I really need to get out running to see what I can do Hmm

RandallPinkFloyd · 28/03/2013 15:10

Well bloody done Tea, you'll be at that target in no time.

I'm going out tonight, haven't been put in absolutely ages. It's only to The Spoons for a few pre bank holiday drinks but still, really looking forward to it.

I've just had a quick search on MFP though and the menu options are fricking terrifying. It's cheap curry night on a Thursday isn't it but holy cow they're like 1500 calories each! The burgers are even worse, one is 1800!

Eating healthy ain't cheap is it.

LillethTheCat · 28/03/2013 15:32

If I ever eat in Spoons I have the spag bol as iirc it had a mark on the menu saying it was less than so many cal's
