Blimey Kali you rock at this! Don't put yourself down, you made that weight loss happen, it didn't happen on it's own. You should be bloody proud of yourself.

(Lizzy, I think we're on a similar wave length. I may have made a turd related comment on Double's MFP status Blush )

Lizzylou · 19/03/2013 09:48

Kali, you worked hard and lost 4lbs, accept it!
Double, see, it's just "body fluctuations", if your waist band is looser then you are losing!

I am like Tea and tend to gain/not lose around AF.

I may go for another run tonight if I have chance. or I may not Grin

A colleague at work has just started that bonkers Insanity from the teleshopping channels, she can't walk today Grin She also offered to copy it for me Shock

RandallPinkFloyd · 19/03/2013 09:56

Who are you on MFP Kali I don't think I have you on there for some reason?

kalidanger · 19/03/2013 10:01

Thankyouthankyouthankyou all.

I've never dared attempt a diet before. I was always 100% sure I'd fail. So, this is a really fucking big deal. You're all such an amazing inspiration, and should be so proud.

Swimming tomorrow.

kalidanger · 19/03/2013 10:11

Randall Same username as here Smile

Tabbykat · 19/03/2013 11:57

Lizzie That Insanity thing looks.......well, insane! Let us know how you get on if you decide to go for it - you are seriously hardcore!

RandallPinkFloyd · 19/03/2013 12:38

I shall be attempting nothing with the word insanity in the title.

That way traction lies.

DoubleMum · 19/03/2013 12:42

Quite right.

Afternoon all,

Bssh - amazing to see your stats like that, well done!

Tea - you're also amazing, wow 71lbs!

Hi Kettle!

Sylvia - well done, I'm trying to reach that first stone too, feels like a big milestone to hit!

Double - are you feeling better? Sounds like a great party for your dd.

Wise - I won't be allowed in the tall club either 5'5.5" here.

LizzyLou - well done on the parkrun, there is one near me so its on my list for later in the year (and 2 stone lighter than now!). And yes - oh yes - to Paul Hollywood...

Hi to everyone else, sorry I'm trying to keep up but not doing so well. I spent Friday and Saturday in bed with the worst cold & sore throat ever, and I never stay in bed, but I am so tired from toddler dd waking every single night, and I am getting a hard time at work, and the weather is miserable and I don't know, I just felt like I had to STOP. Sounds a bit pathetic but I don't care! Anyway I ate so much (feed a cold??), including home made chocolate chip cookies and I forgot to log on to mfp Blush. I was dreading the scales this morning and thought I'd have to come on here and get into trouble but I've actually lost. Do you think having a temperature burns more calories or something??
So I have my chief hat back on and I am choosing my hard - I will go to the gym tonight and try to sweat out the remains of this virus!

Happy tuesday afternoon to all! Flowers

Isabeller · 19/03/2013 17:19

Thank you for the link to this thread Randall (waves to Kali) hope it's ok to just lurk for now. Starting to get the hang of MFP and at the start of trying to lose 3 stone.

RandallPinkFloyd · 19/03/2013 17:54

Hi Isabeller welcome welcome.

I'm RandallFloyd on MFP, feel free to add me if you want to.. If you scroll back you'll probably find everyone else's too but if you want to go through my friend list instead I only have chiefs on there so I'm sure they'd be happy to add you.

Seeing other people's diaries really help's, you can pick up some great ideas. The fact that people can also see yours is rather sobering too!

BambieO · 19/03/2013 18:23

I have fallen so far off the wagon I'm in Mexico ladies. Help me :(

KettleCrunch · 19/03/2013 18:27

Hello everyone! Wow, this thread's been moving fast. Hi Isabeller!

Oh Kali I know what you mean about dieting being a big deal. It's like... how can it possibly work?! I'm hoping I will have lost a bit by the time I weigh in at the end of the week. In the meantime it's taking almost as much willpower not to step on the scales as it is to not eat a second cupcake!

The miserable weather is seemingly making it so much harder - I've been feeling rubbish and demotivated and just wanting to self-medicate with endless rounds of milky hot chocolate. BUT I've ordered a thermal hat, running gloves and baselayer which should make running outside a slightly more appealing prospect... no surrender!

KettleCrunch · 19/03/2013 18:31

Bambie didn't see you there! Be calm. Tomorrow is another day. Do you use Pinterest? I like to browse it for healthy recipes and pretty clothes so I feel a bit more motivated sometimes. Or do you have time to give yourself a bit of attention, like a bath or even just trying something new with makeup/hair etc, so you look after yourself a bit and remember that you're worth the effort to get a bit healthier and fitter? You can do this! And it will be SO worth it when you do.

And don't worry, I just checked and the wagon is scheduled to make a stop in Mexico to pick up struggling Chiefs... it's due with you in the next hour! Now isn't that handy? Wink

BambieO · 19/03/2013 18:36

That is handy! Grin

I can't believe it, after sorting things with DH I have gone back to being 'comfortable' but I don't want to be comfortable! I want to be happy like I was when I was losing the weight. It's so hard :( all of my happy associations come from food! Nights in with a lovely dinner, lunch with friends, dinner at parents/ILs. Absolutely everything!

KettleCrunch · 19/03/2013 18:44

Totally! A short list of my absolute favourite things:

  1. Curling up on the sofa with a book and a packet of biscuits.
  2. Getting pizza with girlfriends.
  3. Big family Sunday lunch.
  4. Cooking comfort food for my family, eg sausage bake, fish pie, beef stew.
  5. Krispy Kremes.

It is very hard to realign my favourite things to be something more along these lines:

  1. A juicy salad.
  2. A long run.
  3. Weight training.
  4. Not eating.
  5. Still not eating.

It's just not the same, is it?

DoubleMum · 19/03/2013 18:50

Welcome Isabeller. I'm the same name on MFP.
Bambi don't panic! Having one bad day doesn't mean the end - just get back on the wagon tomorrow, or later tonight.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 19/03/2013 18:52

Welcome Isabeller, I am lizzyloum on mfp, feel free to add me.
Bambie, hopefully kettle has rescued you from Mexico!
Things that keep me going (esp during exercise) visualising how I will look on holiday when I am slim. How I will be confident to go swimming and not scuttle quickly to the changing rooms. How much better my clothes will fit me.
Also try drinking lots of water to ward off hunger.
I make bets with myself, so if I have wine planned, I have to have burned x amounts of calories burnt that day.

I sound a bit shallow and obsessed. I just want to feel comfortable and confident in my own skin is all. Life is stressful enough without worrying that my stomach is hanging over the top of my jeans!

kalidanger · 19/03/2013 19:45

I sound a bit shallow and obsessed

I was 'warned' (by an unhelpful someone) not to get obsessed with it all. I think that's mostly nonsense. What the hell else are we going to do unless we take it seriously? Ive probably got more to say about this hit I'm on my phone.

waves to Isabeller this is a LOVELY thread! One thing - I found it far more helpful to translate the stones into ponds, then pick a round (hah) number. I'm trying to lose 50lbs. And I have no idea what that is in stones Half a second mental arthimetic to calculate but I shan't. Pounds are a mysterious measurement and myth easier to deal with than a huge massive stone. Just my experience Smile

Someone (also unhelpful) offered me a pick at their chips at lunch and it was an easy refusal. No barcode = no noms Wink

kalidanger · 19/03/2013 19:46

Much, not myth*

DoubleMum · 19/03/2013 20:03

Oh yes, I'm totally obsessed. It's the only way.

OP posts:
kalidanger · 19/03/2013 20:17

DoubleMum Tell me I have to go swimming tomorrow please.

DoubleMum · 19/03/2013 20:19

You have to go swimming tomorrow Kali. Otherwise a giant bird will come and peck at you, not nice at all, and probably your fingers will turn purple, and the sky will fall, and all kinds of pestilence will be visited on mankind. So it's really quite important that you go swimming tomorrow. But no pressure.

OP posts:
kalidanger · 19/03/2013 20:31

A giant bird.

You big silly Grin Thank you.

KettleCrunch · 19/03/2013 21:04

Crikey Kali please go swimming! I don't want us all to be pestilence-ridden.
