All welcome :) losing weight and being healthy through the power of motivation (particularly on Mondays)

It's very quiet around here....where is everyone? I got another 2lb off this week, am now at a stone and half lost....Grin Grin Grin Grin

InMySpareTime · 16/07/2013 07:57

Well done Fili, I'll weigh later. I suspect everyone is out in the sun.

Reastie · 17/07/2013 06:27

I'm here but I'm on holiday Grin .

Well done filli that's amazing work, you're in the zone of weight loss Wink

Having fab holiday but not sure how the scales will be next week as have been eating crisps, chocolate and sugary snack bars all week (well, it's a holiday, got to have some time off....) but also have managed 3 insanity workouts in this heat (which is no mean feat) to attempt to counteract a bit my rubbish eating. Back on Friday and will weigh in next week.

Wore kato's jeans the other evening, thanks kato Grin . Too hot to wear them other than that though. Kato please give me details to give you money!

Filimou · 17/07/2013 06:40

Sounds like you're having a far holiday reastie.
Thanks imst I suspect you may be right.......how'd it go?

InMySpareTime · 17/07/2013 21:05

I maintained again this week, I love this salad weather. I bought lots of nice salad stuff (beetroot, celery, olives etc) to go with the runner beans and mangetout currently growing in the garden.

KatoPotato · 19/07/2013 21:52

Hey gang! Reastie, i got it thanks! My 12s are getting loose, so enjoy the rest of your holiday then back on it so you can take the 12s if we both knuckle down! That'd be great motivation for me! X

Reastie · 20/07/2013 18:36

IMST that sounds lovely. Is the den being used by DC alot now? (it was you who made that garden den last summer wasn't it?). Copied you and did a delicious salad for everyone at lunch today. I found it scrummy but of course DD refused to touch any of it except a bit of cheese I put on the top of hers

kato that is motivation indeed. Not sure I'll get there but will do my best. Feeling a bit like I've lost my way after a week off on holiday and the hot weather though Confused . Haven't done any exercise for 3 days - was due to do another insanity workout today but busy painting the kitchen all day and have to keep going with that tomorrow but will try and squeeze something in workout wise. Maintained on holiday which is good, and hopefully will get back on it once things are back to normal next week.

InMySpareTime · 21/07/2013 00:18

The DCs were in the den all morning playing Lego, eating ice lollies (with stealthy fruit) and reading on their bean bags.
I finished painting their silver chalk board, along with the potting shed and garden seat. Then spent half an hour getting paint off me!
Lots of NSVs and general compliments here. People are so disappointed that the key to weight loss is eating less and moving more, without days off or blips, for the long haul. I suspect they feel that if that was all there was to it they could have done it ages ago. What they don't appreciate is that it's flipping hard to avoid the days off and blips, and that an iron will is tricky to maintain in real life.

Filimou · 21/07/2013 15:17

imst it surprises me too, how people seem disappointed when they ask for 'the secret' and it's just, eat better and exercise. it's hard but worth it. Almost like they expect me to say "I bought a magic gnome off the internet and it sits in my pocket sucking my fat out through a straw that goes through my jeans straight into my gut. it's lovely, I can eat what I want all the time...." Grin
I'm half expecting a loss just through the stress of potty training DS....been so hard to not cheer myself up with biscuits

Reastie · 21/07/2013 18:08

It's very true. I'd love to give filis magic gnome answer though as I think that would go down much better. It's like people want you to tell them they can buy something and do nothing and it will magically happen.

Been painting the kitchen and dining room today and they are looking fab if I do say so myself. Rooms are still half complete so builders back tomorrow - can't wait until it's all over and I have my house back again.

fili I'm starting potty training later this week with DD - just waiting to go shopping with her on Tuesday to buy her some big girl pants (going to get her to choose them) - any words of wisdom other than eating biscuits ?

Reastie · 21/07/2013 18:10

Forgot to say, IMST love the NSV and compliments, and glad the den is being used after all that hard work to get it made.

Now, what I want to know is, Ihave alot of excess skin and cellulite/stretch marks - how on earth does clair nazir not have any sign of any after loosing a fair bit of weight ? It's not fair Angry

Reastie · 21/07/2013 18:11

losing I mean Blush

Filimou · 21/07/2013 18:59

Carpet cleaner reastie though, think DS may not be ready yet, so back to the nappies I think.....

InMySpareTime · 21/07/2013 19:17

Reastie, the excess skin does go after a while, mine is improving week by week, and I had a lot to start with (about 10 inches off my waist). I suspect I'll always have a "tiger tummy", but the stripes are down to thin lines now, and the crepeyness is almost gone.

Allthingspretty · 22/07/2013 10:54

I have been lurking a little on this thread and I like the idea of a nsv. I think I have my own to share as my clothes feel a little looser and morw comfortable.

Reastie · 22/07/2013 13:48

Ohhh well done ATP how much have you lost/what are your goals? Loose clothes are fabulous aren't they Grin

Reastie · 22/07/2013 13:49

IMST Grin to the 'tiger tummy' . My tummy is still very much creepy but hopefully it will get better.

Allthingspretty · 22/07/2013 18:01

Res. my goal ia to drop four dress sizes.

I had to go shopping today for some clothes and just feel Sad

Reastie · 22/07/2013 18:43

4 dress sizes? That's a big goal but very doable if you keep on it for the long haul. IMST and kato have both lost quite alot of dress sizes I believe, and I was a size 22 this time last year and now am a 16 (occasionally 14). Just take it pound by pound or you'll be overwhelmed IMO. It feels like a mountain to climb but breaking it down to small goals kept me on it. Just struggling with the last bit now Confused . What have you been doing to lose the weight?

Good grief it's hot today. Did my insanity workout today but only managed the warm up as I was dripping in sweat and felt fainty Confused . Still, I worked up a sweat and got out of breath and manage a mini jog afterwards so better than nothing

Fili potty training commencing tomorrow - we are off to buy big girl knickers and potties, eek!

Filimou · 22/07/2013 19:52

Good luck reastie!
Hi atp!!
I've got weigh in tomorrow but had a very embarrassing nsv today....was walking up the stairs at work and my skirt started creeping down my bum....Sad
but Grin
need new work stuff methinks!

Allthingspretty · 22/07/2013 21:47

I am going to the gum regularly and watching what I eat.

InMySpareTime · 23/07/2013 07:12

This time last year I weighed 14st, wore size 18 and had 38HH bra size.
Now, I weigh 8st 12, wear size 6-8 and have 26G bra size. I look and feel great.Grin
It can be done, but it takes time and determination.

InMySpareTime · 23/07/2013 09:22

I weighed this morning, and have inexplicably lost 3lb. I am now 8st 9Shock. How did that happen? I'm supposed to be maintaining. Ah well, at least it explains why people have been commenting on my weight loss again.

Allthingspretty · 23/07/2013 10:32

Not the gum. Gym
Well done Inmysparetime.

Shopping was a bit of a downer yeserday after a morning where I felt my clothes were looser however.I am determined just to keep chugging on along and excercising and making healthy choices.

Reastie · 23/07/2013 12:12

IMST send some of your weight loss over to me please would you Grin

all what are you doing at the gym ? Are you doing classes or gymming? Don't be put off by a downer of a shopping trip yesterday, you will get there....it will just take time, today is a new day full of new motivation.
