Reastie · 18/06/2013 07:59

wow DrD that's amazing, well done Grin

DrDumbass · 18/06/2013 10:13

have to admit, the more I'm losing the more motivated I'm getting. Still a long way to go though....

Get back on it 8020Grin.
Losing weight is simple, in that "eating less and moving more" is not complicated.
Losing weight is not easy, it involves finding the balance between food and exercise. Do not deny yourself all treats or you'll feel deprived, and ultimately fail, but balance those treats with extra activity.
Thin feels AMAZING and all the better for the work put in to get there, take it from meGrinGrin.

I'm BACK! Sorry for the radio silence, been hectic with work and nursery and life in general!

I had a blip where I was gaining and maintaining at 145/6 but this morning it's finally gone! 142.4 and BMI 25.2 So close!!!

You're all doing great! reastie don't deny yourself that number 11, it's YOURS! and I'll get those jeans in the post this weekend I promise! I'll let you know the postage cost, and that's all I want!

I've been trying the 16/8 principle this week, fasting from 7pm until 11am or 6-10, whatever happens first! It's great, perfect for me as I'm terrible for evening sabotage, but this way I seem more determined to stop eating for the night.

eighty I did 2100-1300 last night/today due to a busy day with no worries! I just adapt my hours to suit and of course keep to max 1200cals in my 8hour feast!

Reastie · 21/06/2013 15:23

kato never heard of that way of fasting but it sounds alot more workable/healthy to me than the 5:2. Very excited about the jeans btw Grin Thanks

80 and IMST dead right about the knowing and doing being different. If it were that easy we'd all be slim if we wanted to Hmm

Scales have broken at home so hoping DH can fix them or will have to get a new pair. I like weighing myself most mornings so it's a pain. Not in an obsessive way but I find it keeps me on task and motivated

80 you can do it. Just think if you start losing again it will spur you out of your plateau and you will feel so much better.

Bit of a rubbish week overall but have just done 45 mins of leg exercises and did the same with arm weights yesterday so hoping that will help to redeem me.

InMySpareTime · 22/06/2013 15:55

PILs are visiting (againHmm), but I've managed to get lots of work/rotas etc. so won't see much of them this time.
They are managing to irritate me remotely though, they went out to Quarry Bank today, I stayed behind as I had an afternoon storytelling booking. Luckily I left plenty of time to cycle there (3.5mi), as when I went to get the bike out of the garage I found the PILs had un helpfully parked right against the garage door so it wouldn't open.
Cue a 50 minute speed walk along the canal path to Gorse Hill, I just made it in time! I walked back at a more leisurely pace, but feel I more than earned the piece of shortbread I ate whilst there.

DrDumbass · 23/06/2013 09:55

IMST didn't know you were from that neck of the woods. I'm originally from near cradley heath.....small world eh?

InMySpareTime · 23/06/2013 12:37

I just googled Cradley Heath, I'm nowhere near there, I live in Trafford. Google Maps said I could walk to Cradley Heath, but it would take 1 day and 47 minutes!

Reastie · 23/06/2013 13:18

Now there's a challenge for you IMST Grin

DrDumbass · 23/06/2013 13:42

imst blimey it'd be quicker to walk to where I am now (Fylde Coast)....strange though there is a quarry bank and gorse hill in the wild west midlands....

InMySpareTime · 23/06/2013 15:08

Grin Reastie, I'm not planning on walking that far! If nothing else I've school runs to do.
How's everyone doing for Motivation? Monday's just round the corner...

Reastie · 23/06/2013 16:04

Not bad thanks IMST . 4 workouts in 4 days. Scales are fixed so all set for weigh in tomorrow. Have been cooking huge batches of food for the freezer as we're having our kitchen done in a couple of weeks and apparently it will take a month Shock . Been picking far too much at the food I've been cooking, but hopefully not enough for any huge damage.

DrDumbass · 23/06/2013 20:28

argh....thought I'd try a home workout, tried Bob Harper's 'beginners' workout....45 minute workout and after 30 minutes I had to stop because I thought I was gonna throw up. I feel like such a failure. Sad

InMySpareTime · 23/06/2013 20:46

Keep at it, it gets easier each time. When I first did my Pilates DVD it was like torture!

DrDumbass · 23/06/2013 21:10

Thanks imst. I've been making real progress with running but I cant believe I actually felt like I was going to vomit....

Reastie · 24/06/2013 07:00

drd agree with IMST keep trying. I'm really proud now as on my workout DVD I couldn't do loads of it initially and there's one arm lift I couldn't do one of the first go but now I can do the whole set Grin . I found when I went to gym classes my body got used to the classes I did (like you and running) and as soon as I tried a different class I felt so unfit. Gym instructors told me it was good for me to mix it up or my body gets used to the same thing and it doesn't become as effective.

Disappointing weigh in this morning - 3/4 lb increase. I'm ignoring and reweighing tomorrow as I don't think I was bad enough to warrant that and think it might be a blip.

Am considering trying 'insanity' workout dvds for a summer holiday challenge but really don't know if I have the guts/am fit enough Confused

DrDumbass · 24/06/2013 13:45

I never really thouht your body would just get used to exercise stuff reastie I just thought you were either fit or unfit, though I suppose it does make sense.
Good luck tomorrow. My weigh in is Tuesday morning.........
eek!

Reastie · 24/06/2013 18:51

DrD It's true IME. I used to do 2 step classes a week pre DD (and a few other classes too) and initially I gained alot of fitness and lost weight but after a while my body knew what it was in for and the classes got quite easy (well, easier). If ever I tried a different class I'd really struggle through it.

Well, today has been an amazing day. I tried on a few bits in the sale and was shocked to find a size 16 actually is quite big on me now. I fitted nicely into a size 14 in a few bits. I am honestly amazed. I feel fab and can't believe I've done it. I just now wish I had loads of money to go out and buy some lovely flattering clothes (my shape has changed since DD so although my pre preg clothes generally fit now they don't flatter as much). Just want to keep going and see how things go and work hard to make sure I don't put it back on.

InMySpareTime · 24/06/2013 19:12

Well done Reastie on the 14sGrin.
I too wish I had more money for clothes, now I keep seeing lovely curvy dresses my £50 a month "me money" isn't going very far!
I'm back to 8st 13, still on track with the maintain. I have maintained for over a month now, I actually think I can do this long term.Smile

DrDumbass · 25/06/2013 09:13

I have lost a pound this week. Part of me thinks oh no its only a pound, and I have worked so hard, but a pound off is better than a pound on eh. ::whispers:: and I have my period so I'm holding water, bloody PMS..... Angry
