All welcome :) losing weight and being healthy through the power of motivation (particularly on Mondays)

Consider it weight loss you can save for next week, water retention is weight that will go by next week.

Reastie · 01/07/2013 07:51

Helloooooo? very quiet on here!

My scales have broken so ordered fancy pants new ones yesterday so weigh in will be delayed whilst I await their arrival. Fingers crossed they don't weigh me a huge amount more than my current scales making everything off balance for a while (didn't kato have that problem?)

In other news I've started 'insanity' this week . I say started, it's more a case of sweating profusely and collapsing on the floor begging for a break!

IMST is the book out yet?

dr hopefully lots of nice wl for you tomorrow.

InMySpareTime · 01/07/2013 10:04

Hi Reastie, I'm giving the book a final run through and format today and will upload it laterGrin.
I am also, mysteriously, down to 8st 12! DH and DS were away on camp, so DD chose the weekend menu, cheese featured heavily, veg not so much. Perhaps I'll pay for that later on?

Reastie · 01/07/2013 12:10

Ohh how exciting IMST re: the book. Hopefully you won't pay for all the cheese, but you're down a lb anyway I think so that might make you back to where you were.

Spent this morning looking at preschools/nurseries for DD. One tough decision to make.

DrDumbass · 02/07/2013 17:59

Sorry been AWOL had a helluva week.....a pound down today x

Reastie · 02/07/2013 18:29

Everything OK DrD ?

My new fancy pants scales arrived today. They do weight, BMI, body fat, some other type of fat, muscle % and BMR. They're amazing! Weigh in officially tomorrow morning but might be different to usual given new scales.

DrDumbass · 02/07/2013 18:56

sorry reastie just read that back it sounded dead snappy.
Works been a mare, my niece is drinking loads and found out today a close friend could have a brain tumor. Sad

Reastie · 02/07/2013 19:29

Didn't sound snappy, just short on time but dedicated to posting on the thread, so sorry about your close friend, keep me updated and hope it's not a tumor. What a worry Sad

DrDumbass · 02/07/2013 19:51

Thanks reastie trying to keep perky today to keep everyone 'up', home now and just worried sick about her. Sad

KatoPotato · 03/07/2013 11:47

Hello! Sorry for the absence! Had many weddings and work trips! reastie your jeans are bagged up and ready to post! I'll send DH to the post office today!

Hope everyone is well, I bought a super tight black bandage dress to wear to a wedding on Saturday and tried on a 10 by accident that fitted! My breasts were obscene so I got the 12, but I got lots of compliments and its spurred me along again!!

InMySpareTime · 03/07/2013 12:24

All's well here, I'm off to a meet up tonight with Hair and SPB. My book is published, life is goooooodGrin.

DrDumbass · 03/07/2013 18:44

Congrats on the book IMST have a great night.
kato wow I bet that felt really good! well done you!!

Reastie · 03/07/2013 18:50

Merci beaucoup kato Thanks . Bet you look fabboroni in the black dress.

IMST glad life is good. Enjoy the meet up. Please take piccies so I can see what you all look like in RL and say hello to Hair and SPB from me.

DrD how are you feeling today?

Well, not so great today - started insanity last week and I should do a workout today and tomorrow and then have a rest day on Friday but no one could look after DD for me to do it today and she's been hard work and not letting me do my workout so have swapped it round as today being my day off. I know it's nothing bad but feel like I've been naughty in getting out of it. According to new scales have maintained this week. Felt sure there would be a loss but maybe just the change in scales.

DrDumbass · 03/07/2013 19:25

Don't worry reastie life doesn't always allow for exercise....
I'm ok today I think though a colleague has been pissing me off (can I swear here....after all not aibu) and I just feel it's the last thing I need. Angry

Reastie · 05/07/2013 16:24

Hiya

DrD hope annoying colleague has been less annoying today [hopeful]

Kato your jeans arrived today, and they fit Grin . The bright blue ones don't fit quite so well but the other 2 are perfect fit. I'm so excited to take them on holiday with me and am Grin I fit in a size 14 even if they are stretchy trousers . Thanks and pm me how you'd like the postage money. You're fab.

Not managed Insanity again today Sad , but have done 5 workouts in 7 days, so not too awful.

Last day of term today so I am now on summer hols, yippee. The dept head where I work was leaving and to celebrate send her off the head arranged for a staff meeting which was a sneaky way to get all staff over for a Dolly Parton Impersonator to do a concert in the school grounds for all staff to say good bye to the dept head Grin . Was fab. Today I loved my work Grin

KatoPotato · 08/07/2013 13:19

I'm delighted to hear that reastie it's my absolute pleasure! Will find out from DH how much the postage was. how are you finding Insanity? I wanted to try it but it is way ££££££!

DrD hope all is well!

IMST how was the night out? Hope SPB and Hair are keeping well!

Maintain at 143 ish for me, which is good as I've been waaay LAX! back to BodyPump tonight and trying Bikram Yoga tomorrow! EEEK!

Reastie · 08/07/2013 15:12

kato think the postage was £6 something (I looked on the post label!). Let me know how to get the money to you. Insanity is hard work! I'm getting towards 2 weeks in and haven't lost any weight but definitely starting to feel fitter and think I'm getting a bit more toned from it, so I guess maybe it's a case of muscle weighing more than fat. It really makes me drip with sweat though [tmi] ! Bikram yoga? Is that the one where it's in a baking hot room and you sweat alot?

KatoPotato · 08/07/2013 15:26

Yup, thats the one! trust me to finally getting round to trying it during the Glasgow heatwave!!

I'll pm you my paypal deets. x

Filimou · 08/07/2013 19:42

Hi kato reastie and *imst.
Sorry for the confusion I didn't like drdumbass so went for something more like my old name....I miss it.
Not holding out much hope for a loss this week as I've not had time for exercise...will keep you posted.

Reastie · 08/07/2013 21:12

Hi filli I mean DrD I mean fili Grin

kato I did think Hmm doing bikram in a heat wave!

Well, i'm feeling really miserable. I'm trying so hard to do insanity. I can't do it with DD around as she won't stay occupied for the 30 - 40 minutes it takes and she either moans and makes me stop or wants to hug and run around my legs (one of these days I will jump on her and it will really hurt...). I know it's not her fault and I don't blame her in that she's too young to get it but it's making insanity impossible. Have been begging DM and Dsis to look after DD for half an hour but they're always too busy . I just want half an hour a day, it seems it's alot to ask. DH has tomorrow afternoon off so I was looking forward to at least having time tomorrow but now apparently he'll be busy on DIY stuff . I know I sound whingey but just need to get it out there as it's so frustrating.

Filimou · 09/07/2013 08:57

whereabouts are you reastie maybe we could do an exercise based babysit swap.....
Well I have stayed the same this week, really stressful week and not had any time for exercise so not surprised really. Work is currently a mare so finding myself needing to snack in the afternoon (just on fruit) but thought I would try and combat that with slightly more substantial lunch, so have made spanakopita with salad.....hopefully that should see me through to hometime......
Have always fancied Bikram yoga Kato but I am already a sweaty mess doing any kind of exercise, might leave it til I am more bendy and less wobbly Grin

Reastie · 09/07/2013 09:50

I'm in SE. Managed to do workout with DD looking at books at my feet - I edged away from her and she moved nearer me Grin . Luckily it was more of a toning workout today so no jumping around, just lots of squats and lunges (ouch!). fili hope the lunch tactic works well.

KatoPotato · 09/07/2013 10:28

Sorry you're feeling miserable reastie :( How old is DD now?

Well I went to BodyPump last night that was almost Bikram heat! I can barely walk today! Sweaty mess doesn't cover it filli

Reastie · 09/07/2013 11:18

she's 2 Kato. Went to use a loo at a local leisure centre yesterday and heard them warning everyone going to the gym it was hot as there was no air con

InMySpareTime · 09/07/2013 11:48

Hi everyone, meet-up went well, everyone got on fine, though I was on my own a bit while the others went off for fag breaks etc.
My book is officialy published, I've been busy this week publicising it (it's here if you want a look)
Weight-wise, sticking at 8st 12 again without much effort. Summer bbqs balanced by long hot bike rides and lots of water.
