Sorry for the late start to this thread. I had an appointment at my gym for an induction this morning.

If you haven't already, put yourself on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Good luck for the week!

BlackAffronted Just going through your pinterest board now. Its brilliant!

GinotPrigio · 10/02/2013 19:42

Gless checking your pinterest out now too. Fantastic!

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 20:14

Gless I hope you don't think I'm being nosy (not sure how Pinterest works either), but I clicked on your exercise board and saw an article about how to get rid of tricep flab...I SO need this!!

Have lost ten pounds approx on this WOE, but that tricep flab just ain't shifting!

BlackAffronted · 10/02/2013 20:23

I am loving the Pinterest boards too :)

Woolfey (thanks for sponsoring me :) ) I make celeriac fondant a lot, and usethe liquid from that, makes ana amazing tasting gravy.

JustasmallGless · 10/02/2013 20:30

Ooh Nell I was already following you

Anything on Pinterest is fair game! Be as nosey as you want.

I only pinned those tricep exercises last night so not had time to try they yet but they look good. Plus there are some routines which can be done in 5 mins which is surely doable. Might not have the same effects Jillian Michaels but worth a try

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 20:34

Ooh yes, 5 min exercises sounds good!

Black I just made your oeufs en cocotte this eve...... Absolutely gorgeous. But I couldn't get mine lovely and browned on top, like yours look in the pic. Any clue as to what I might've done wrong?

I had them in the over for ten minutes.

QuickLookBusy · 10/02/2013 20:35

Woolfry I make gravy for the roast with flour.

1 dessert spoon of flour only has about 6g of carbs, so split between the three of us that's not many carbs at all. I think of it as my Sunday treat. I really wouldn't worry about that amount.

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 20:35

Oven, even!

JustasmallGless · 10/02/2013 20:47

I would be careful using flour- my stomach is really sensitive to grains now after 9 months without. I can thicken my gravy just by reducing it or there is a recipe somewhere with butternut squash

SavoirFaire · 10/02/2013 20:54

Evening all. Black - you are a legend. Can't believe you're not even sore today. That's amazing!

Back on the wagon today after a bad week LC-wise. I know I've put back on a couple of pounds at least. Will see what the scales say tomorrow.

Today:
B: scrambled egg with mushrooms and bacon
L: Casserole, beef, aubergine, celeriac, courgette
D: coley in a creamy sauce with creamed leeks and celeriac chips
Did have half a sweetcorn frittata which I know I shouldn't have but am having a nightmare with an outrageously fussy eating DC, and we tried makingthese to get some veg down him, and I had to set a good example and eat one myself. Made no difference and he didn't eat a bite Angry

Feeling really down today. Possibly something to do with the carbs of the last few days. Or just Sunday night itis.

timidviper · 10/02/2013 20:56

Bugger it. I can see this coming. I've avoided Facebook for years, I've escaped the attractions of Twitter but those recipe boards look very tempting on Pinterest.

I've resolved that while DD is away I will get the house tidied up (and lose weight of course) but if I get sucked into Pinterest there is no hope is there?

JustasmallGless · 10/02/2013 21:13

Viper dont do it if you want to have any sort of life away from the computer. I can lose hours, hours I tell you!
However I love it as I can dip in and out and don't feel
As if I've missed anything unlike Fb. It was ACE for Christmas as you can probably tell by my boards Blush

twinklestar2 · 10/02/2013 21:25

Can I join this thread if I'm only cutting bread, rice, pasta and potatoes?

I'm TTC and am wary of cutting back too many carbs.

I have read the whole thread and you're all doing so well!

BlackAffronted · 10/02/2013 21:44

Novelty, I think I had them in the oven longer than 10 minutes when I took that photo :)

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 21:46

Thanks Black. The other thing I might've done wrong was use sour cream instead of regular cream as I was out of regular. Wonder if that made a difference?

It was yummy though, even without the brown, and will be made again this week, I can tell!

JustasmallGless · 10/02/2013 22:04

Twinkle star welcome!
you need to understand the science behind low carbing and why it really works

Many people have remained low carbing whilst TTC, pregnant and breast feeding. After all that's how our ancestors ate for millions of years. What are your aims with cutting out those food groups? Are you wanting to lose weight/ break sugar addiction/ other health benefits?

twinklestar2 · 10/02/2013 22:18

Hi Just,

I'd like to lose weight. Plus I know I feel better not eating carbs.

JustasmallGless · 10/02/2013 22:20

Twinkle
We all feel better not eating carbs!
Have a read of Bootcamp rules- it's all about eating clean and not processed foods.
Have you low carber before?

twinklestar2 · 10/02/2013 22:26

I cut out bread, pasta, rice and potatoes a couple of years ago before going on hols and I felt so much better plus lost half a stone in 2 weeks!

I have been loosely doing it the last week or so and lost weight but ate carbs this weekend and feel like crap again :(

Last week my menus were like this:

Fruit, latte, yoghurt

Wrap with salad and houmous or falafels

Meat and veg for dinner

And I felt great!

I know there are carbs in my menu but not as much as what I would have usually had plus this is what I did when I lost weight a couple of years ago and it worked.

Valdeeves · 10/02/2013 22:26

Loving the swearing - ha ha ha - better than chocolate!

Black - have you thought about trying 30 Day Shred? You sound to me like you have alot if strength and endurance which means your body would respond really well to it. It's only 20 mins a night.
There is no way I would manage your Zumbathon but I'm doing the shred.

Nice day for me - lovely bro in law arrived while we were all still in our PJ's and helped out with the kids. I felt so tired from the stress of having hubbie work 24 shifts all week so dragged myself around a bit. Made us a sage butter chicken roast - they had yorkshires and potatoes and I had celeriac rosti.
I'll be honest I've stuffed my face today - all with low carb stuff but still too much. Will calm down tomorrow - I'm just stressed.

I'm originally from Cumbria although I spent my early years near Bath.

Am watching Mr Selfridge- not sure if its any good but the costumes are fab!

Anyone making pancakes? Do you think you could use almond flour and almond milk?

ChoosandChipsandSealingWax · 10/02/2013 22:29

Ooh loving the Pinterest! Likewise hadn't used it before but can see myself getting sucked in. Thanks guys Thanks

Went to friends for Sunday lunch and didn't bother to tell her I was low carbing as she normally does salmon and loads of veggies, but today in my DH's honour (he's vegetarian) she made veggie lasagna - argh! RL is a bugger sometimes and coupled with all the alcohol last night I know it is going to bugger up tomorrow's way in. Never mind, it's all been heading in the right direction. Celeriac soup for supper.

LavenderBriggs forgot to say in my earlier post but am in Finsbury Park - any other north Londoners on here?

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 22:38

Val tons of almond flour pancake recipes about - here's one that looks good beta.primal-palate.com/recipe/almond-flour-pancakes/

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 22:44

Choos not anymore but I used to live in Turnpike Lane!

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 22:45

(and Kentish Town)

Dottiespots · 10/02/2013 22:55

JustasmallGless...Thanks for the info....will pop and have a look now. Have low carbed a little but have gone off track for awhile. Looking forward to getting back onto it. It has been very helpful in the past for my IBS. Smile
