Sorry for the late start to this thread. I had an appointment at my gym for an induction this morning.

If you haven't already, put yourself on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Good luck for the week!

BlackAffronted · 10/02/2013 13:18

Ahhh it was you slippers, thanks! Thanks

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 13:19

Oh yes....I signed it 'novelty'! Smile

BlackAffronted · 10/02/2013 13:30

Ah, just refreshed, and see yours now, so there is still one of you guys who donated - whoever you are, thank you! You guys are fab :)

BIWI · 10/02/2013 13:48

My goodness, look how much you have raised! That's brilliant.

Ruprekt - list out your meals/drinks over the last few days and let's see if there's anything I can help with

Might have been me, Black? I donated yesterday (couldn't when you first posted the link as paypal wasn't working for some reason).

Well done - I'm very impressed! You inspired me to do my zumba thing on the wii yesterday for the first time in about a year so thank you. I feel so much better when I exercise, I don't know why I don't do it more often.

If people haven't been to Lidl of late, they have multipacks of Mr Porky scratchings for £1 at the moment and some really lush prosciutto called Cremona on special offer.

Rollergirl1 · 10/02/2013 14:06

Well I succumbed last night and ended up having an indian takeaway, with rice and Sag Aloo, so a total carb fest. I devoured my meal and totally enjoyed it. But a few hours later I felt really bloated and a bit sick. DH said he felt the same. I weighed myself this morning and was 3lb up from yesterday, which i wasn't surprised about. In hindsight, although i loved it at the time, it wasn't worth it so have totally learned my lesson.

Sunday lunch is Jamie Oliver's roast chicken with parma ham, lemon thyme, garlica and butter pushed under the skin. Veg is roasted cauliflower and leeks in cream. Kids will have mash with it too. Can't wait!

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 14:15

Rup didn't realise either that double cream was only 2-3 tbsp per day Blush

Thanks for tip off!

sybilfaulty · 10/02/2013 14:36

After a slight excess of wine on Friday, I am back in the game. Am excited as I seem to be thinner if not lighter. But, as someone wisely said, no one is going to be picking me up any time soon!

Black, you are incredible, well done for seeing off the flakers who couldn't stay the course! I am in awe of your achievement. I did some zumba last year and it was punishing. Hats off to you. Have sponsored you too.

Right, am off to take DS for a wee spin round the block. His big sister cut his hair last night and I am gutted for him. He is 4 with angel curls and has never had it cut. Suffice it to say he looks rather, er, "tough" now. Still, it'll grow eh? (I did pick the curls out of the bin, God knows why, but it felt like the right thing at the time!)

Loving this thread. Loving the food. My size 10 jeans nearly do up. I am amazed. You are all fab and so supportive. Thanks to all.

BIWI · 10/02/2013 14:37

Well - that's what Atkins says! As far as I'm concerned/aware, as long as you don't have any issues with dairy, I can't really see why you would restrict it. There's only a certain amount of cream any of us could eat, anyway.

If we buy into the idea that fat is good, then why would we restrict it?

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 14:40

Hmm - v true BIWI! Had forgotten that!

Am pleased, as I bung loads into my braised creamy cabbage. And am eating some right now! (Having an advance spoonful of my extra thick stuff, bought for pancake day.)

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 15:12

catinboots · 10/02/2013 15:32

Oh it was good though. So good.

Back on it today. Lots of water and cooking roast. I bought a shoulder of lamb in waitrose today as it was cheap. Any tips on cooking? I normally get a leg.

Also. What the fuck is going out there?>>>>>>>

It's like crazytown. And is it me or is every single thread about SAHMs vs WOHMs??

timidviper · 10/02/2013 15:40

Looks good Novelty. It's interesting that LC things are starting to make a resurgence. I think things may be turning around in terms of nutrition.

Am glad to see another of us in the NW. That's you, me and Gless now although as an exiled scouser I have to say that you are in the best place as poor Gless is in Manchester Grin

Doshusallie · 10/02/2013 15:51

Thanks Novelty, have just preordered that!

2 bacon, 2 eggs, lots of mushrooms cooked in butter for brekkie.
Some Greek yog, lettuce and pâté and a few Brazils for lunch.
Tea will be roast chicken with veg.

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 15:58

Grin @ Timid

Me too Dosh. Shall sit by postbox in eager anticipation for the next, er, month!

I love the Good Foods as they a) can be carried to supermaket if need and b) have pictures for every recipe. Can't wait!

timidviper · 10/02/2013 16:17

Nell The Sainsburys mag has 3 pizzata recipes. They are basically like a thick omelette with a lot of other stuff in then popped under the grill to brown the top IYSWIM. They said to make in a 22cm ovenproof frying pan. The one I made a version of at lunchtime was:
Fry 100g chopped, smoked bacon until crisp then remove from pan
Fry 1 small onion or shallots till soft then add 250g mushrooms and soften
Beat 6 eggs (I added a splosh of cream) and add 50g grated Gruyere, 2 tsp fresh thyme leaves and the bacon
Pour egg mixture onto mushroom mixt and gently pull in from sides as you would an omelette.
When base is set, sprinkle top with a little more cheese and thyme then grill for 3-4mins until set and golden.

The other 2 versions in the mag are Chorizo and Cheddar (although that has potato in so would have to be modified) and Courgette, Red Pepper and Goats Cheese.

Thank you everyone and you're right Biwi, it was a lesson learnt and I'm very happy to be back on track. Just been to tescos and bought belly strips for my tea as everyone else wanted pizza. Also found some whole earth crunchy but peanut butter which is fairly low carb and scrummy. Am very glad to be having tea with team again too, milky tea just doesn't cut it now.

BlackAffronted · 10/02/2013 16:30

Ohhh I am going to order that book too! Hopefully if they see anticipated it is, they will do more!

Thanks so so so much for the donations! I have just spotted yours sybil & woolfey! Its such a good cuase. I have already decided to do it next year :)

Waiting for my roast dinner. It smells so yummy that my tummy is rumbling!

BlackAffronted · 10/02/2013 16:34

catinboots, I havent ventured out into the wide MN today,is it scary?

prettybird · 10/02/2013 16:40

Shoulder of lamb is yummy! :-) I'm presuming it is still on the bone....

Rub all over with olive oil. Stab it all over and stuff garlic and rosemary into the cuts. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. If you want to do it greek style, squeeze over a lemon as well. Cook it long and slow, so that it ends up falling of the bone when you try and carve it. Every so often, add some boiling water to the roasting tin and use the juices that are created to baste it.

Kiriwawa · 10/02/2013 16:40

Oops black you'd already said thank you, sorry. What a nelly Blush
