Sorry to be a bit late this morning - no doubt you're all chomping at the bit to declare all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Not going to weigh in until tomorrow or possibly Wednesday as I'm on nights so my nights sleep is about 4 hours and I want to keep the weighing at a consistent time if that makes sense. Will weigh when I've had 10 hours without eating.

I've just filled in the spreadsheet and realised in my excitement i had wrongly calculated my original weight, which was more than i thought Blush

i have lost just over 9llbs! i dont think i look different, and my jeans are still tough to do up and i splodge somewhat over the top (these are my fat jeans and I am not buying any more. I bought them specially in Nov as I couldnt do up my normal jeans and had no clothes to wear) but I think its an overall loss from everywhere. My face is slimmer for sure.

Thank you BIWI for the stick and Willie for the spreadsheet and all you lovely ladies keeping this thread active and supportive. plus all these new things to eat!

This week I am keeping to the bootcamp rules and going to shred everyday plus pilates..

Well done everyone! And thanks to BIWI and Willie for their sterling work! Flowers

I've lost 9lbs since 7th Jan so I'm extremely happy with that - clothes feel looser already round my waist, norks still enormous, but hey ho!

Unfortunately I had a bit of Reeces Pieces Cake (I know! Yum) at lunch today as I didn't want to offend and I really, really wanted it, but I don't want anymore. Was happy with that but will not be having anything else of that ilk this week!

I have a real craving for a packet of crisps. What can I eat that is crunchy that might do the trick. I hate celary and other crudities, and I don't like celariac so not the crisps made of those.
Doe anyone have any suggestions?

It was a 2.5lb loss for me. Happy with that.

Today's food:

B - Leftover chicken stuffed with Tahini and wrapped in pancetta.
S - Greek yoghurt
L - Salad with chicken leg.
S - Cucumber with pate
D - Bolognaise with cabbage n' bacon

Is it the crunch, or is it the salt?

You could have pork scratchings. Personally I hate the commercial ones, although they have been known to hit the spot when desperate! I have a lovely piece of pork that I'm going to roast tomorrow, so I can make the lovely crackling.

Teaspoon of crunchy peanut butter? Could wrap it in an iceberg lettuce leaf for extra 'bite'?

Sorry if this is a really dumb question but does celariac taste anything like celery? I cant stand celery - tis the devils food - and I always associate celariac with it...... but the celariac chips sound good!

Ive had lettuce wraps with egg mayo for breakfast, salad with avacado, egg and blue cheese for lunch and about to have salmon, green beans and garlic mushroom for tea. Followed by my outstanding 2.5l of water ...... Hmm

Ilisten radishes for crunch sometimes does the trick for me, but I see you're not a crudite fan... Maybe roast a packet of kale with some sea salt and groundnut oil? tastes like Chinese takeaway seaweed. Mmmm.

Both the crunch and the salt I think. I am desparate for the crunch mainly at the moment and considering that an apple might be better than a packet of crisps, but still not quite hitting the spot. I think it must be the combination I am seeking. Am home for the evening now though so no chance of getting any pork scratchings tonight.
Also thinking about roasted seeds with a splash of soy sauce. So which is worse if I can't talk myself out of something?

I have a savoy cabbage - but "seaweed" usually has sugar on it. What would it be like without do you reckon?

No crunchy peanut butter in the house. DS allergic!

Report
FurryDogMother · 14/01/2013 18:18

For crunch, try putting some greaseproof paper on a baking sheet, then adding little piles of grated cheese. Bake at Gas Mk 6 ish until they melt and go golden. Wait until they cool, and they'll be cheese crisps :)

You can do the same in a microwave, but no idea re timings - just keep an eye on it.

Please don't go for the apple!

Seeds or salted nuts would be better, although they aren't really allowed on Bootcamp.

I've just had to make my first aberration from Boot Camp: I had to have a very small teaspoon full bit of the carrot cake that ds (age 12) made at school. He did say he'd not put in enough sugar as he hadn't manage to zero the scales.

I couldn't not have it! Grin

8lbs down for me so I'm really pleased still a heifer though plan for this week is to keep up the good work and water drinking

I've just made the yummiest celeriac soup so I'm really looking forward to lunch tomorrow, got to watch dd1 though because she's already swiped a bowl of it! In other news, I bought some of the Boots own brand Beroca and they've had a somewhat interesting effect on the colour of my wee, I almost died of shock when I went yesterday Grin

Well done for the weight losses and getting through week one everyone

I've entered onto the spreadsheet and have managed to lose 6lbs - really pleased and quite spured on for this week.

Havn't made many comments but read the thread everyday and the food ideas are what make this possible. Everyones daily menus do inspire to have something different

Thanks everyone - the support here is amazing. Thanks

I'm not keen on celery at all, but I'm really enjoying the celeriac! The chips were so awesome! I was eating them when dh came home, I ran to him carrying my bowl of yum shouting "look! Look! CHIPS!" *really must get out more.

Sushi nori is low carb isn't it?? My friend in Japan sends me loads because she knows I love it so I'm wondering whether its time to ask her nicely for some more....

In any case here's something I do quite often (though haven't since we started bootcamp so do tell me if we can't have the oil or whatever, and don't take my word that its low carb!!) Get a pack of the sushi nori sheets. Pre heat oven. Drizzle a teeny bit of sesame oil on a sheet and use the back of a teaspoon to spread it around. Sprinkle with a bit of salt and put directly on a shelf in the oven. I can't remember how long these take to 'roast' but its certainly less than 3 mins, the sheets will change colour but you don't want them black. The timing can be an arse so watch it.

Anyway when you've done as many sheets as you want, u can then chop them up - if I want something like crisps then I cut each sheet into about 8 pieces or so, if I want it with miso soup or something (salads etc) I cut it into shorter ribbons. This is my favourite thing to eat ever.

If it turns out that actually its horrendously bad to eat then I consider myself beaten with biwi's big stick and severely chastised!

God sorry me again - just found a pack in the cupboard! If I'm reading it correctly its 0.8g carbs per 100g. This is the 'Yutaka' type and I bought it in sainsburys
