Sorry to be a bit late this morning - no doubt you're all chomping at the bit to declare all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Bawdster- helloooo and welcome Grin

SavoirFaire · 16/01/2013 23:15

Just checking in. My day:
B: eggs and butter
L: Mackeral with kale and cauliflower
D: Roast chicken with skin, spinach, celeriac chips and mayo

Going to go and read back now, so sorry for ignoring what's gone on above. If I have time I'll post again. It's so hard to keep up!

uberalice · 16/01/2013 23:29

I've been low carbing for about 3 months and DH has just pointed out that I've not been feeling the cold as much as usual this winter. I assumed we'd been having a milder winter, but now on cold frosty mornings, I'm noticing that I feel warmer than last year. Anyone else noticed this?

Valdeeves · 17/01/2013 00:02

Starfish - glad you are ok.
Chicken Parma ham recipe I saw after I cooked so that's going to be a weekend dish I think!

Breakfast - two eggs in mayo and pepper/salt

Lunch: pork scratchings (just wasn't hungry)

We had roast chicken with a sauce I made - pretty sure it must have come from my scan of the recipe thread as it wasn't setting I've cooked before. Sauce was shallots, baby leeks, mushrooms, garlic with black pepper and and one rasher of bacon - plus pinch salt - sautéed in cream and butter. Accompanied by celeriac and courgette rolled in curry powder and olive oil (someone wrote this tip early on - amazing!)

I've never thought of myself as a good cook but this is really helping me improve by experimenting. The above was really nice who Evers recipe it was!
Still don't know my weight but I've lost am inch of my big tummy.
How do people work the water thing? I'm trying hard but it's still a struggle.

JustasmallGless · 17/01/2013 06:19

Happy birthday valdeeves! Glad you enjoyed your food.

Tip for water is to get a bottle with a sports top and refill during the day. There is some sciencey thing where it is easier to drink like that.

Happy birthday to MsRinky for today and welcome to the 40 club! Have a fab day

vnmum · 17/01/2013 07:22

I am bracing myself for the snow we are expecting tomorrow. doesn't help that my car seems to pack up when it's cold, I so want a new one.

WillieWaggledagger · 17/01/2013 08:20

just v quickly - be careful with aubergine parmigiana as it can have breadcrumbs in it, though not always

captainmummy · 17/01/2013 08:26

Happy birthday MrsR and Valdeeves!

Dosh -I cooked a red cabbage yesterday (love it) but wish i'd tried your roasted red cabbage ! Sounds delish...........

slatternlymother · 17/01/2013 08:34

Just had a massive breakfast of sausage, egg, bacon and mushrooms.

It was bloody lovely.

Heading out to town today, popping into M&S for a few bits. Anyone got any good suggestions of LC foods I can pick up?

slatternlymother · 17/01/2013 08:34

And Happy birthday MrsR and Valdeeves! Thanks

PrincessSparkle86 · 17/01/2013 08:51

Morning all and Happy Birthday to the birthday girls WinkThanks

skandi1 · 17/01/2013 08:52

Happy birthday mrsr and val Thanks

Gless. Thanks for the info. I have not had spots or bumps. Mine is the red tomato face kind. Ugh. I hope mine will improve. Anything which would help it, would help my current flagging spirits. Can get you down can't it.

Feel ok this am. Long sleep. DH already phoned from work to complain about having to deal with DS over night. To be fair, I do it all the time because of DHs very busy and important job. But one measly night isn't too much to ask is it. DS is 18mo and needs to get with the program before I lose my marbles.

Given the chilly weather I guess a sticky afternoon at soft play beckons. Ugh. It's that or freeze my rear off in the park. Joy.

Breakfast was egg white omelette cooked in coconut oil.

MsRinky · 17/01/2013 08:58

Morning lovelies, thanks for the birthday wishes. My 40th birthday present to myself was another pound off this morning. My 40th birthday present from MrRinky with a little bit of help from me is the most beautiful ring. I can't stop looking at its twinkly gorgeousness.

Am heading off into ThatLondon soon for a twirl around the shops and tonight am going to Dinner for dinner. As it's Heston thingy, he'll have magicked all the carbs out of everything, so I shall eat what the hell I like sensibly.

GinotPrigio · 17/01/2013 09:00

Happy Birthday MsRinky Hope you have a lovely birthday. Your ring sounds beautiful. Are you going to the Fat Duck for dinner? Wow, that will be amazing!

MsRinky · 17/01/2013 09:04

Not the Fat Duck, this place www.dinnerbyheston.com/

Not so molecular but supposed to be very good. Am excited !

cathyandclaire · 17/01/2013 09:07

Happy birthday valdeeves and mrsrinky!

Enjoy Dinner, if it's Heston any carbs will be so heavily disguised you can pretend they're not there Grin... this will be easier after several glasses of wine.

Goulash meatballs for us with cabbage- while you're swanning around being glamorous in the capital, think of us in the Frozen North huddling together in the snow and eating like Russian peasants Grin

PennyHofstadter · 17/01/2013 09:17

Happy birthday to the birthday girls today.

I'm just going to have a whinge if nobody minds. I've only lost 3.75lb in a week. I'm just a bit disheartened when I read of others on the thread who've lost that in 2-3 days. Since Monday I've only lost 0.5lb. I admit it's TOTM but as it's the first week I hoped I would still lose despite the extra water storage that comes with this particular event.

halfthesize · 17/01/2013 09:18

MsRinsky so jealous of your new sparkly ringEnvy bet it's gorge.

skandi sleep deprevation is just the most awful thing, my sympathies are with you Thanks

GinotPrigio · 17/01/2013 09:21

MsRinky that place looks brilliant! And if its all food based around 1600's then surely it will be low carb! When did people start eating grains??!!

cathyandclaire · 17/01/2013 09:26

Penny that is FAB weight loss, especially as it is TOM, just keep going and it will woosh off one day. I found I lose a few pounds then stall and wobble around that weight for AGES then lose another couple and so on. It's not steady, it's frustratingly unpredictable but the weight will go Smile

slatternlymother · 17/01/2013 09:26

MsR you lucky thing! I am jealous of your lovely gift and meal out! Report back on Heston Envy

thatgirlsevil · 17/01/2013 09:32

Bleuuurgh, I've put on 1/2 a lb this morning...despite having a great days food and being very active and drinking 3 ltrs of water. I think this is precisely why I need to stop weighing every day :(.
