Gless. Indeed. DH is under orders to get up with DS tonight. Am done in.

Yes I suffer from rosacea. I saw someone mentioned, think it was you? That this WOE sorted their rosacea. I am clinging on to that. How long before you saw any improvement?

bawdster · 16/01/2013 20:30

Someone will be along to link to the recipe thread in a minute I expect can't find the fucker

Welcome Wink

NoveltySlippers · 16/01/2013 20:39

Evening all

I made the broccoli and blue cheese soup tonight. It was alright - but I think I made it too thick.

I also think I lack an off switch when it comes to stilton! Half the block got nibbled while preparing. Blush

BlackAffronted · 16/01/2013 20:42

welcome bawd :) boiled eggs, ham slices, pate on cucumber/celery, chicken thighs, cold low carb sausages, lettuce & mayo, babybels are all things that are safe to snack on. Coffee, limit to 2 a day if you can, driink it black or with cream :)

Well, just did another Zumba class! Wasnt as tired out this time,, thankfully. I have 3 and a half weeks to build up to the 8 hour Zumbathon Shock

Food today -

B - 2 egg, 2 bacon, mushrooms, mayo at a cafe
L - 2 chicken thighs with skin & mayo
S before Zumba - 2 pork belly slices
D - DH wanted a takeaway, so I had the roast platter from our local Chinese (chicken, pork & dry spare ribs). I added a couple of teaspoons of the gravy that came with it.

BigStickBIWI · 16/01/2013 20:43

Welcome, bawdster!

Recipe thread is here

and

Here is the spreadsheet - add yourself and your starting weight.

Just don't touch the blue columns!

Look at the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet and you'll find the rules for Bootcamp.

Any questions, put them on the question thread that slatternly linked to.

bawdster you will find that one of the great joys of this WOE is that you simply aren't hungry - snacking won't be needed as much. Which is a good thing, as constant grazing causes our blood sugar to keep spiking, whereas we're trying to keep it as stable as possible

halfthesize that chicken was amazing. DH said it was the best meal we'd had since low carbing and wants it again next week! It was bloody amazing though, I am rolling around like a little fat thing atm.

NoveltySlippers · 16/01/2013 20:50

Slatternly which chicken recipe is that? You've sold it well....I want some of that action!

slatternlymother · 16/01/2013 20:56

halfthesize put it on, novelty; it's chicken breast stuffed with garlic butter and wrapped in Parma Ham, served with salad and mayo. Yeah. You want that.

JustasmallGless · 16/01/2013 21:03

I had pork belly slices tonight in a homemade BBQ sauce which was low carb but not Bootcamp iyswim

Skandi
My skin cleared up within a couple of months. I still have rosy cheeks but the lumps and bumps have gone. I also switched to dermalogica moisturiser

NoveltySlippers · 16/01/2013 21:05

I do, I do!

helpingout · 16/01/2013 21:05

Evening everyone!

Loving the turnip dauphinoise! Had it two days running. I also made the thai pork with the peanut sauce which was gorgeous too.

I saved some of the pork and fried it then added spinach and cream. It was almost like a curry.

It is amazing how little I miss bread and pasta.

slatternlymother · 16/01/2013 21:12

helpingout what is this mythical Thai pork in peanut sauce?

I will add to recipe thread.

Lifeisontheup · 16/01/2013 21:17

Take care of yourself Starfish Don't know your history but it sounds like you have a tough time.

halfthesize · 16/01/2013 21:29

You sound like you cope brilliantly starfish take care of yourselfThanks

slatternlymother · 16/01/2013 21:38

starfish Sad I'm happy you found a solution though. I'm the same, I had a fairly terse exchange with my (toxic) parents earlier, which would normally have sent me spiralling. But I stayed strong and calm. And told them to shove their attitude where the sun don't shine Grin

I feel strong and calm and very capable atm.

slatternlymother · 16/01/2013 21:40

starfish sorry I missed the paragraph about his disability Sad that must be hard on you. Thanks

Doshusallie · 16/01/2013 21:52

2 salmon steaks with roasted red cabbage.

Dh - you don't cook red cabbage like that
Me - it's delish have you tried some?
Dh - no, but if you were a cook you would know that you don't cook red cabbage like that
Me - you should try it. It's delish ( spot the theme?)

I shredded it, drizzled in oil, liberally sprinkled with salt, added lots of butter and roasted for about 25 minutes. Have I mentioned it was delish?

helpingout · 16/01/2013 21:53

It is in the recipe section. Pork mince, garlic, lime juice, coriander and a few other bits and bobs. The peanut sauce is lush. You end up with loads from one tablespoon. Not good at links sorry!

bawdster · 16/01/2013 22:11

thank you for the warm welcome ! and some great recipe ideas and thank you for the link . very looking forward to loosing the unwanted pounds :-)

cathyandclaire · 16/01/2013 22:32

Ooh loving the chicken/ Parma ham recipe... Thanks for that! I've been stuck on the same old same old, running around after dds and grabbing stuff rather than cooking properly
B: fried egg, mushrooms, bacon
S: ff yog
L : chicken salad
D : celery, pâté, st agur

Planning a more exciting menu tomorrow....

ChoosandChipsandSealingWax · 16/01/2013 22:47

starfish so sorry to hear that - sounds really tough Sad

slatternly well done for staying calm and being firm.

ruprekt chorizo dammit knew there was something I'd forgotten from today's ubershop (thought I had it covered - from the Baldrickesque turnips & swede and Dr Who celeriac to mundane celery, gem lettuce, kale, spinach to coconut oil and sushi nori) and now I am going to have to go and get Parma ham too as that chicken sounds amaaazing!

Right off for a nightcap. Or rather, before BIWI gets out her stick, a herbal tea.
