Sorry to be a bit late this morning - no doubt you're all chomping at the bit to declare all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Princess - well done that's fab. Onwards and downwards.

I think it's better to measure yourself by clothes rather than scales

daily weigher here

Starfish- why would wine/bread/sugary food make you feel any better? You will have a momentary enjoyment of the forbidden fruit then feel guilty for eating it! Not worth it.
Put DC to bed and draw yourself a big bubble bath. Chill out for half an hour. Be kind to yourself.
You will honestly feel better and more relaxed doing that than eating sugar which will give you insulin spike then you have to deal with aftermath

BigStickBIWI · 15/01/2013 16:30

Hmm. I think my scales are either on the way out, or the battery needs replacing. They seem to veer up and down by 5lbs a day at the moment. It is most disconcerting. I'm going to check the batteries first.

Thanks BIWI

Oh good idea re the herbal teas. I think I've got a couple of flavours at the back of the cupboard.....

JustasmallGless · 15/01/2013 16:43

Maybe that's what's wrong with me?

New batteries in scales?

Or maybe not!
Am on it today though and in the zone

slatternlymother · 15/01/2013 16:45

Oh starfish Sad are you OK? You poor thing, that must've been a real fright. I know it's hard with your DH away (mine goes away a lot too), but I promise you that stuffing your face doesn't make it better. 2 more sleeps, and he's back. It'll stay as 2 more sleeps whether you eat chips, or whether you eat nice clean healthy food.

BIWI mine started doing that, so I bought the older style ones, with the gauge so you can see what's going on. They were lovely, posh glass Weight Watchers (hiss) ones and were about £30. They are currently sitting in the kitchen cupboard, razzing at me Hmm

Hope you've all had a really nice day.

slatternlymother · 15/01/2013 16:46

And well done princesssparkle86! Bet you're feeling great now Grin

JulesJules · 15/01/2013 16:47

No idea if I've lost any weight as we have no scales (DH killed them with the ironing board many years ago. It might be why I married himGrin)

I've felt it's a bit of a struggle, as a vegetarian, because it's quite a radical change to the way I was eating before - typically rice + veg, pasta + veg, couscous + veg etc. I'm not overkeen on eggs, but actually have been eating many and varied frittatas, really tasty. Eg: asparagus, courgette, shallots, tomatoes, spinach with cheese on top - Stilton or cream cheese, or brie or cheddar or just parmesan... (not all on the same frittata...)

I have been eating lots of cheese, and a bit of Quorn stuff - waffer thin "ham", the bacon slices and Sainsb meat free hotdogs (which tragically appear to have been discontinued -and the Quorn ones are utterly disgusting). They are not too carby, but tend to be quite low fat, so I'm putting butter and cheese on veggies.

Snacks of olives or macadamian nuts or celery sticks with cream cheese in.

The water is a bit of a struggle, I'm just about managing 2.1L a day at the moment.

anewdispensation · 15/01/2013 16:48

I spectacularly fell off the wagon last night. I had not had any dinner and was so hungry then went to visit a friend and I had a plate of rice with tomato sauce. I am so disappointed and so gutted Sad

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 15/01/2013 16:52

Oh goodness starfish how are you both doing now?

Is ds ok?

Ilovemyteddy · 15/01/2013 16:54

Starfish I'm not your DH but have a (((hug))) from me. As the others have said treat yourself to a lovely bath and pamper yourself with potions and lotions!

JustasmallGless · 15/01/2013 16:55

Hokey have to say I was properly impressed with that.

I could do it with bacon and egg mcmuffin. Not sure about aBig Mac though

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 15/01/2013 17:00

Was not easy Gless, not easy at all.

I think i still had the sound of BIWI's caps lock ringing in my ears after i mentioned the J word!!

barleywood · 15/01/2013 17:15

Starfish....I know it it not nearly the same but have a virtual hug from me and others on this thread.

Be kind to yourself...and here's a Brew

skandi1 · 15/01/2013 17:46

Oh Starfish! Poor you and poor Starfish DS.

Hope you are both over the shock.

PrincessSparkle86 · 15/01/2013 18:04

Thank you Grin

Starfish- sorry to hear about your fall, i hope both you and DS are feeling OK! Bummer about DH not being there for hugs... Hot bath with some relaxing candles and a nibble on some scratchings infront of he soaps maybe? Thanks

MissNJE · 15/01/2013 18:15

Hello everybody,

congrats to all of you for your great loses. I am feeling absolutely horrible today. I am on holiday in Germany to see my parents and tonight I had an argument with my mother, like every time I am visiting her. I also found out that my grandfather is in intensive care since ast night and I can't even go and visit him.

I have eaten a lot of today... I feel terrible. I can't wait to be back in England on Thursday.

halfthesize · 15/01/2013 18:19

Sorry to hear about your fall Starfish hope you are both doing ok.

Princess well done Grin

Lavenderhoney · 15/01/2013 18:24

Starfish I hope you are feeling better, and your ds.

I have had inexplicable urges for sweet things today and I never have them normally! Had a teaspoon of peanut butter to finish the jar and chucked it out.

No shred for me I have too many chores and admin after dc in bed this week. I must get lots of stuff done before dh notices I haven't done anything and it all comes back to bite me on the bum. The weekend perhaps, if I get a move on.

B- fried egg, slice bacon, left over cabbage all in butter
L- Brie wrapped in Ham, 2 slices
D- cabbage and broccoli and a tiny bit of lamb as it was only after I made the Irish stew and dumplings for the dc I realised all the lamb had been swimming with suet and potatoes for a few hours:)

Few olives here and there.
Water and a skimmed milk latte at coffee with a friend.

TheEarlyBird · 15/01/2013 18:29

Oh my - celeriac chips. Just the best thing ever. I used the BBC Good Food recipe but replaced the curry powder with some posh salt with chili flakes in it. Beautiful. Am drinking my water and going to drink less tea (but must have my 2 cups of coffee in the morning or else.......)

BigStickBIWI · 15/01/2013 18:34

Nothing wrong with suet, lavender!

MsRinky - sorry you're having a horrible time.

OP posts:
PrincessSparkle86 · 15/01/2013 18:42

Suet- does that mean we can make dunplings? I assumed theyd be carby

halfthesize · 15/01/2013 18:44

Princess Dumplings normally need a mix of suet and flour, unless anyone knows of a flour free recipe? fingers crossed they doWink

Ruprekt · 15/01/2013 18:52

B - cup of tea

Snack - 2 HB eggs and 2 sausages with mustard and FF mayo

Lunch - lamb burger with celeriac bake and rocket with FF mayo.

Am stuffed and cannot face dinner. Need more water......................
