I had my hypno gastric band 'fitted' by Paul McKenna last night...

...so far so good! Admittedly its not even 11am yet, but I havent eaten my snacks which are sitting on my desk and not even tempting me! Normally I don't allow myself anything till 10am, then I pounce!

I am doing this in conjunction with weightwatchers, which Paul McKenna would not approve of, since he despises 'diet clubs' (boy does this come through loud and clear in his book).

However since I don't know the man personally, and I feel I need the WW sessions for support, I am carrying on with pro- pointing and hoping that my gastric band will provide the backup I need to not binge and eat more than my body needs.

I've been (back) on weightwatchers for several months now and failed miserably because I am both a compulsive eater and a (hopefully) reformed bulimic.

I'd like to think this will help me - and I'm willing to try it because I am now as heavy as I was just after I gave birth to DS2 3 years ago (my heaviest, unless you count when I was 40 weeks pg!)

If anyone is interested I will report back :)

i'm still doing it too & just lost weight while on holiday!!! unheard of! but it's so quiet on this thread i can practically see the tumbleweed wafting past, & there's a lot of support & inspiration to be had on Paul McKenna Thread Number 12, as rules said above, join us there! Smile

Very inspired after reading these comments! I was on WW from Feb until just before my holiday at the start of May and lost 18lb. Now at the end of July the 18lb is back on as well as 3 extra lbs! So disappointing and I can't believe that I let myself get like this again after doing so well!
I think WW is great but I can never stay on track with it for more than a few months then I binge on all the lovely things I missed out on. Same story for lots of people I suppose

Hopefully this will be different - I am going to read the book tonight!

welcome roona you sound like you're in the right place to join the Paulettes - having realised dieting only works very short-term & is just not sustainable, ie. it doesn't work overall at all! well we've all been there, probably several times (having gone back because we get so desperate to lose the weight again) but Pauling is the way forward, it's so lovely to do & really works! i found by following the four golden rules i now actually enjoy food & mealtimes sooo much more: no more counting & guilt & longing! dieting turned me into a binge-eater, from which i have now recovered (because i'm not depriving myself & my body recognises that). i'm definitely much happier as a person because the food issues are being resolved. i hope you have been enlightened by the book & are now enjoying the process! keep us posted on how it's going for you!

Ok so I read the book Monday and it seems to have really clicked, I am following the golden rules and feeling great, for the first time this year really! I haven't listened to the cd yet I'm still trying to learn the havening. Haven't managed 20 mins a day walk either but have lost my appetite completely for sugary stuff. Can't believe how little I ate yesterday!

So has everyone from this thread migrated over to the other PM thread, or did you all slowly lose your way..... would be interesting to know as that's what happened to me with ICMYT. But despite that I always knew this way of eating was the only way and knew I'd be back. You just have to be really ready to embrace it I think. And now I'm finally ready!

Looking forward to my (full fat) cream cheese and salmon sandwich for lunch yum yum. Smile

hellooo egg glad you're enjoying the process! this thread is pretty quiet right enough. i don't know if people dropped off because they got where they wanted & didn't think about food (& thus posting) so much anymore, or if the OP & folk at the start went back to WW as they were doing both (??). i personally have mostly been on ICMYT thread because the band bit never worked for me for some reason & so i've just been doing the four golden rules, which are ace! the others on that thread seemed to be embracing it more wholeheartedly (which is the only way i do things) & were not doing icky diets aswell, contrary to the rules. like you, i got the book ~5 years ago & previously lost my way, but now the time's right. good luck to you Smile

Hi All, just wanted to let you know that if you click on my profile name, you should be able to see my before and after picture. For those of you who don't know, I started Paul McKenna on 4 February this year and after 6 months I have lost 30.2lbs

Im still going to continue following it as I have found it to be a positive experience, especially given my age and going through the menopause. I just wanted to give hope to those of you who may be feeling like its not working or that you may not be getting the results you want as quickly as you would like them.

Please let me know if you have any trouble viewing my picture.

Keep up the good work

That's amazing weight loss, well done - I listened to cd last Friday afternoon (1st time) and Saturday and again on Monday evening, but since yesterday have struggled to control eating, after starting so well. Listened again last night, but today could eat forever. How often do you listen? Thought I'd cracked it this time

So so pleased I found this thread - thank you for bumping it. I posted a desperate thread yesterday asking if anyone had found hypnosis useful for binge eating and had a very dispiriting response, but for £6.49 I think I will definitely take a shot at this!

Can I also say, Bulshit, what a beautiful smile you have. I don't think I'd dare post a photo of myself in a swimsuit - never mind smile like that whilst i did it! :)

Hi newbie here! i have read this thread with lots of interest and havin been an avid dieter for the majority of my adult life, I really want to change my relationship with food and give paul mckenna's principles a try. I saw on earlier posts that someone did start a facebook page about their journey, and having read it i saw that she has also decided to try the 5:2 diet. Anyway i have also created a page where i aim to write about my experiences of both paul mckenna, beyond chocolate and exercise. just wanted to post incase anyone wants to take a look, its my first day but i intend to use it and hope it can help others too :) :) xx

HI CakeAreNotTheAnswer and Queen of Halloween and all other Paul Mckenna followers. Thank you very much for your positive response to my weight loss. It has been a slow journey but a very positive one.

I listen to the CD at least once per month but sometimes more if I am feeling off track. I feel that exercise has helped me a lot as well as eating a healthy diet, however I have eaten what I want. To me this has been one of the main reasons for my success as well as not been a slave to the scales.

I know that the program has made a massive difference to my everyday life. I am a lot more confident and relaxed in every thing that I do. I wish everyone who is on this path the very best. It can be a long road but if you persevere you will reach your goal.

Thank you all for your support and I wish you all well, my journey is not yet over but I am almost there. Good luck xxxx

Thank you Veryberrybug! I am very pleased with the results. This weight loss has made a massive difference to my life. I am able to live each day to the best of my ability. 6 months ago I was depress and fed up with the way I looked.

I was following the weight watchers program without much success. I was in the middle of the menopause and was told that loosing weight was impossible but thanks to Paul McKenna life is presently looking very bright.

Cannot express how happy and sexy I feel when I get dress each day. Thank you Paul McKenna.

I hope my success will help every one who want to loose weight using Paul's program. Best of luck to you all.

Although I didnt use Paul Mckenna myself I did see a local hypnotherapist for weight loss and I am so pleased that I have managed to keep it off this time. I really feel different. Its lovely reading all the success that people have here.I dont think I could have done it with just a book and CD,I needed the talking and support I got from my guy which was brilliant.I still email him questions and stuff and he helps if needed.Well done everyone :)

Jayne good for you. Its great that your hypnotherapy worked for your weight loss. What I think is brilliant about PM is that all you really need to do is follow the four golden rules properly, really really properly and it works, for life. Simple. Its always accessible, portable, and sustainable and whats more, you do it all on your own. Its definitely working for me.
Bullshit.....well done you (Load applause!!!)

Hi I am in Australia and just stumbled on this thread after a google search! I saw a hypnotherapist on Tuesday and have to say its amazing but I feel so different. I do feel as if my conscious mind is trying to poke holes in the concept and every now and then I have random thoughts of - this is so silly, it's never going to work. You've been tricked rarara - anyone else experience this? How much have people lost after vgb?

Rules · 18/09/2013 22:54
