I had my hypno gastric band 'fitted' by Paul McKenna last night...

...so far so good! Admittedly its not even 11am yet, but I havent eaten my snacks which are sitting on my desk and not even tempting me! Normally I don't allow myself anything till 10am, then I pounce!

I am doing this in conjunction with weightwatchers, which Paul McKenna would not approve of, since he despises 'diet clubs' (boy does this come through loud and clear in his book).

However since I don't know the man personally, and I feel I need the WW sessions for support, I am carrying on with pro- pointing and hoping that my gastric band will provide the backup I need to not binge and eat more than my body needs.

I've been (back) on weightwatchers for several months now and failed miserably because I am both a compulsive eater and a (hopefully) reformed bulimic.

I'd like to think this will help me - and I'm willing to try it because I am now as heavy as I was just after I gave birth to DS2 3 years ago (my heaviest, unless you count when I was 40 weeks pg!)

If anyone is interested I will report back :)

very ok my lovely I've just been reading your posts.
There is something between you and this GB process working, a block somewhere.
If you were my client I would do some EFT with you to remove those blocks. I know PM style of hypno doesn't always sit well with people. He is very American style, left brained, NLP and too much for some people who need what we term cleaner language than he does.
If you are anywhere near West Yorks I would be happy to do a hypno and EFT session for free for you to clear the blockages and get that bloody band fitted Grin
If not then start with EFT. I am here if you need me!

Rulesgirl · 02/06/2013 21:53

Could you do a tape for her maybe Clench

Rulesgirl · 02/06/2013 21:53

or CD.....must get with it. ha ha.

SirRaymondClench · 02/06/2013 22:24

Rules doing CDs are a nightmare really. I used to do them and my dog would always scratch at the door or the postman would ring the bell or something at a really important bit Confused
I will defo have a think about it though, but my hypno work is very different to PM and there is no fancy music or subliminal messages etc with me! Grin

Rulesgirl · 02/06/2013 22:28

btw....how's it going for you...feel any different today? Doing things any differently? Smile

SirRaymondClench · 02/06/2013 22:48

I'm doing ok, don't think I've lost any more weight though yet.
Yesterday we went into town and went to that Handmade Burger place and had some lunch. I left about half of my burger and chips. I felt very full after. I think it was full of salt though and as we know that means bloat-city and a few extra lbs on the scales until it gets peed out.
So I will weigh tomorrow and see but I think I am at 3lbs for this week which is fab!
I will have another listen to the CD tomorrow because I think I need it reinforcing. I'm not really feeling like I am drawn to healthy food yet though!
How about you?

Rulesgirl · 02/06/2013 23:52

I'm constantly surprised. I start eating and then before I know it I'm full and have to stop. I'm losing weight and I am making healthy choices....strange.....I might think...oooh I'm hungry and then I wonder what to have and decide on a banana or some nuts. It's like making choices rather than eating mindlessly. Smile

SirRaymondClench · 03/06/2013 07:42

Ok I have weighed and I was right. 3lbs for last week! Pretty good going really!
Anyone else weighing today?

Fairygen · 03/06/2013 12:48

rules sorry for taking ages to reply. I lost about a stone in the first month and then it levelled out to between 1 and 2lbs a week. I was happy with the weight loss, but was just eating far too little to be healthy. I'm much happier this time around.

clench I'm -4 since the last time I weighed 3 weeks ago so not sure how or when I lost it. I'm starting from scratch today and have decided on a total loss of 34lbs. Well done on your loss

Rulesgirl · 03/06/2013 13:16

Ok....I'll do it. 3 lbs off for me too .

Rulesgirl · 03/06/2013 13:17

Fairy so what are you doing differently this time Smile

Fairygen · 03/06/2013 13:46

This time I haven't listened to the cd, yet. So far I've just been following the rules quite happily but, now want the band for back up.

I've also given up alcohol. I used to drink at least a couple of large glasses of wine every night. Then cut it down to weekends only.Six weeks ago I just decided I wasn't really enjoying it anymore and it was costing me a fortune, so I stopped. I've had 1 celebratory glass a couple of weeks ago, but that's all. Surprisingly, I don't miss it at all, I sleep better and feel great.

I know PM says you can drink on HGB, I found wine affected me a lot more because i wasn't eating huge amounts like before to soak it up. It was difficult to stick to the rules after a couple of glasses, and I woke up in the morning ravenous!

Fairygen · 03/06/2013 13:48

I'm drinking loads of water too. I'm sure a lot of my past hunger has really been thirst!

Rulesgirl · 03/06/2013 13:59

Sounds good. I gave up drinking last year then Saturday night had a double vodka and coke and felt poisoned. Spent yesterday in bed with major headache. Urggg!!!! I'm done.....Getting ready for a job interview now.....

Fairygen · 03/06/2013 14:05

Good luck

Rulesgirl · 03/06/2013 14:10

Thanks.

veryberrybug · 03/06/2013 22:25

aw cheers rules & clench you guys are the best! Flowers how lovely to pop in & find kind & thoughtful replies to my moans!

rules i did run for about 4months last year, but even having battled my way past shinsplints (the old dears bobbing about & gossiping at our local swimming baths couldny believe their eyes when i was water-running!) i had to stop when my knees were complaining & feeling arthritic (i had arthritis in my knees when i was 16 so shat myself, luckily it didny come to anything) i'd gotten down to 10stone & suddenly it had become easier til the soreness. then i stopped dieting because it made me binge eat, now i'm nearly 2 stone heavier & i tried running briefly again but shinsplints again & it just felt like a slog with the extra weight . now i do curves 3X per week & zumba(1hr) 3X & love it, i walk 30 min daily on school run & sometimes o a bike run... TBH i don't think i could fit any more exercise in! but cheers for your thoughts Smile i hear what you're saying about being too conscious when listening to the CD. i like chatting with you too

hope the interview went well.

clench you too are a complete honey, what a kind & generous offer! i like your turn of phrase about get that bloody band fitted!! exactly how i feel! i'm in edinburgh though - how long does the train take?!! i need to have a look at the EFT stuff more: was flat out at the weekend after the wee one's show. buggeration this week looks really busy too, but i need to fit it in for the good of my health - mental & physical. i've got 39 lbs to lose, i long for the day when my BMI/body fat reading doesny go up fe normal->high->very high->off the fecking scale!
well done on leaving the burger & chips though, yum.

well done all of youse on losing the lbs, yey!Grin

Jibberoo · 03/06/2013 22:44

Needs some advise fast! Have eaten a big meal today and still feel full. Have just read the book but not sure if its ok to do the cd (pre op and installation) now or should I wait till not full?
Anyone please advise as if I'm to do it then I need I do it now Grin

SirRaymondClench · 03/06/2013 23:02

very Blimey you're active! I knackered my knees running too. Now i ice-skate and that's ok if you have dodgy knees.
I think what we should do is have a go with EFT and see how that goes and if you're not getting anywhere with the CD then, I will make one for you. EFT is good for everything! I love it!

Jib I would say go for the CD if you're not already under hypno already.
You don't have to do the CD when you're hungry and anyway the band gets fitted at the top of your stomach Wink so you'll be fine I think.

Paulettes - one thing I always tell clients is to try and drink 2l of water a day. I have a 2l bottle that I open in the morning so I can see how much I drink, keep it somewhere you end up often (for me it's by my coffee machine). Not only will you feel so much better and look better, but sometimes what we think is hunger is actually thirst. I'm rather surprised PM didn't make more of this in his book but its really important for us.
I know you know all this anyway but its really important for us! Just thought I would mention it after Fairy said about it because it does make a difference. I really see it in my skin after drinking my water, it takes years off me.

Rulesgirl · 03/06/2013 23:17

Thanks Clench.
Verybet you were sooo proud of your little oneGrin

ChesterDrawers · 04/06/2013 09:02

I have a few questions about HGB if anyone can help? I have done ICMYT in the past with some success but after a stint on 5:2 I can feel bad habits creeping in and I think I need a change.

I only have about a stone to lose - is this good for people with a bit less to lose?

How often do you listen to the cd? I have heard mention of people 'topping up' monthly so do you not have to listen daily?

Is the book on offer anywhere at the minute? I can buy online but would rather get it today/tomorrow if I am going to try this impatient

Jibberoo · 04/06/2013 10:40

Thanks for the advice sirraymond. I did it last night and so far so good. One thing I did notice is that I was soooo relaxed during the cd. It got me thinking that maybe my dh could benefit from a deep relaxation/destress type hypnosis cd (he suffers terribly from stress and insomnia) - has anyone got any experience of this?

Rulesgirl · 04/06/2013 14:58

Hi Chester.....I listen to it every night and for me it really works. Read through my posts for more info Grin. However it is a woe for life and you have to lose the diet mentality for this or ICMYT to work. As you know this is the opposit of diets. Sorry, don't want to sound patronising , just that it really only works once you decide to stop dieting. It doesn't matter how much or how little you have to lose. Grin

Rulesgirl · 05/06/2013 11:55

Hi Ladies, has the sun got you all under his spell then Grin

Fairygen · 05/06/2013 19:41

A whole week of (almost) unbroken sunshine here!! Same old shitty problem.......what to wear! All I can say is thank god for maxi dresses, hiding a multitude of flabby bits.
