I do log calories burnt during everyday movement as I am aiming to get to 10000 steps a day - most of the time I don't quite manage that as I reckon that is the basic minimum exercise for fitness. It is not an excuse to indulge to eat the extra calories. Its quite an eye opener to find that 10000 steps has been the miniumum since DH went to America though! Makes me appreciate him all the more
Most ordinary days I manage 6000-7000 and over christmass 3000. My appetite does match my activity but not as well as I thought it would seem.

DoubleMum · 15/01/2013 11:16

Tiger Im not thinking about how much I need to lose, it's too offputting. Day by day, choosing my hard, is the way to go. I've added you on MFP.

BupcakesAndCunting · 15/01/2013 11:34

Hello Tiger! Will send you a friend request on MFP :)

Thank GOD Ocado got here when they did. I was twitching like a mad thing and about to go and snaffle crisps but now I've had 2 portobello mushrooms,3 rashers of WW bacon and two poached eggs. Protein a-go-go!

Nilby 2lbs is GOOD. On MFP the other week, on the forums, an American user had posted a long list of what various increments of weightloss equated to, which was handy. 1lb is a guinea pig, apparently Grin Will try and dig it out as it's a useful tool for perspective.

Thanks for all the pushing! It made me Shred!

I would really recommend it to everyone, no matter how unfit you are. I am incredibly unfit and very overweight and the first couple of days almost killed me and I couldn't see how I would ever reach level 2.

I couldn't walk up the stairs or sit down properly for about 3 days.

I did it it for 5 days, had a 2 days rest and have done it for another 2 days now. I am finding it so much easier. There's a couple of bits I want to do better and then I'm thinking about moving on Level 2.

Because it's only 20 minutes, I know I can exercise and shower and be done with the whole bloody thing in less than 40 mins. And that really helps.

Tiger - Agree with Doublemum, think about reaching a goal that's not too far away eg half a stone. If I thought about all that I have to loose I wouldn't be able to do any of it!

Well done nilby!!!

BupcakesAndCunting · 15/01/2013 11:36

DoubleMum · 15/01/2013 11:43

I can't even find a horse's penis on the list, what are you doing with a horse's penis bupcakes?!

BupcakesAndCunting · 15/01/2013 11:48

Sorry ELEPHANT'S PENIS.

Yeah, baby!

CarriedAwayAnnie · 15/01/2013 11:53

Lol @ that lists!! Grin

25 pounds equals a 2yo, that's dd2 I'm carrying around then! Great motivation.

I just searched 'before and after 30 day shred photos' on google and that's enough to motivate me as well.

Tabbykat · 15/01/2013 11:53

Happy Birthday namechanger Hope you having a good day. Well, am doing ok foodwise I think but still not doing enough exercise - have been so busy with work I haven't shredded for a week! Must get back to it as it really does work and once you're through the first few days it really does get easier. Bizarrely I also find level 3 easier than level 2 - in 2 there is far too much plank pose stuff for me (weak arms emoticon) but 3 seems a bit more manageable.

Congrats to all those who have had losses, and keep the faith all those still working on it. It'll get there.
Just off to investigate this elephant penis business - much more fun than working! x

nilbyname · 15/01/2013 11:54

I love that I have lost 2 guinea pigs. great list bups.

DoubleMum · 15/01/2013 12:14

Question re. exercise.
I had severe osteoarthritis and had both knees replaced a couple of years ago. I've never recovered a full bend and I cannot do stuff like kneel down - I'm presuming I can't do Shred because I can't do squats or even get on the floor as it's very difficult to get up again if you can't bend your knees properly. Does anyone know of an exercise DVD where this wouldn't be problematic? Or with Shred is it possible to miss those parts out without losing too much?

nilbyname · 15/01/2013 12:31

double I think the Shred would be hard on your knees.

have you gone to a gym and met with a trainer? I would if I were you...I would be reluctant to say go for it with the shred or anything else, I think you need professional advice and a work out tailored to you.

WiseKneeHair · 15/01/2013 12:35

Happy birthday namechanger I now know who you are on MFP - didn't we do well with our hand holding Wink Enjoy the chocolates.
Double unfortunately, I don't think you could do shred at all. I don't know of an alternative, but someone else will be along with an idea soon, I'm sure. although I do know swimming is good exercise if you have knee problmes. Would that be an option?
Tiger I'll send you a friend request.

Apparently, I have a medium sized microwave to lose Grin my eyes are watering at the thought of an elephant penis

Lizzylou · 15/01/2013 12:43

I have lost a human brain and have a 2 yr old to go Grin

Double, shred can be a killer on knees. Try Ten Minute Solutions There are loads of them and you can just do 10 minutes or combine them. The Blast off Belly Fat is fab, lots of the moves are in various Jillian Michaels DVDs.

Tiger, I am breaking it down into 1/2stones.

CarriedAwayAnnie · 15/01/2013 13:03

Lizzy I thinking of getting the Blast off Belly Fat to do with the Shred. Does it really work even though it's only ten minutes?

WiseKneeHair · 15/01/2013 13:04

I think I'm getting addicted to exercise DVDs.
LizzyLou after your recommendation, I've just ordered the 10 minute solution body blaster collection!

WiseKneeHair · 15/01/2013 13:06

Carried looking on Amazon, you can do all 50 minutes if you want to I don't

CarriedAwayAnnie · 15/01/2013 13:06

I have to lose a whole human leg Grin

WiseKneeHair · 15/01/2013 13:08

That's easy Carried just come over here It won't hurt a bit, honest.

CarriedAwayAnnie · 15/01/2013 13:09
WiseKneeHair · 15/01/2013 13:12
Grin and I thought you had choosen your hard.
Lulabellarama · 15/01/2013 13:15

Hiya, still no weight off for me, but I am looking better. I reckon because I dont have much to lose this is going to be a real uphill battle. I'm staying positive but I'd really like to see a pound or two off by next week.

Lizzylou · 15/01/2013 13:22

Carried, I love the Blast off Belly fat, it really works, esp the Pilates abs one. Not too difficult but you really feel it next day. That back muffin top certainly gets smaller after a few goes.

Wise, hope you like them! 10 minutes is nothing, is it? And I always find I start thinking am going to do 10minutes, then end up doping 1 or 2 more.

Lula, how much do you want to lose? They always say nearer you are to goal the harder it is.
