This is not right for me, though.

Whenever I've started calorie counting in the past, I've dropped at least 5lbs in a week

:( :( :(

Oh buppers that's really tough.

How often are you weighing? Have you tried measuring as we'll maybe? My weigh-in day is going to be Wednesdays so might bite the bullet and start measuring from this week.

I don't know anything about anti-depressants but it does sound very coincidental. Your food diaries look really good, you haven't cheated, I can't see what else it could be.

Keep going though, don't let it dishearten you for too long. You can do it chief!

BupcakesAndCunting · 14/01/2013 09:51

Should have said in the first week.

First week is always going to be your best loss isn't it? So if I've failed this week, the chances of dropping any next week are not good.

OP posts:
RandallPinkFloyd · 14/01/2013 10:00

You haven't failed. You've done everything right. It's just a blip that's all.
We're in this for the long haul remember.

shine0ncrazydiamond · 14/01/2013 10:01

Bups - can you post a day or two of what you are eating on here? Also are you writing everything down?

BupcakesAndCunting · 14/01/2013 10:02

I know, I know. I'm not put off, just frustrated.

I am seriously thinking about stopping my anti-D's. I've been considering it for a while anyway as I think I'm OK now in terms of anxiety, and I think that this has just made up my mind. Will ring the doctors now...

OP posts:
shine0ncrazydiamond · 14/01/2013 10:02

Or have you already and I missed it?

juneybean · 14/01/2013 10:04

have you had a poo? /blunt
are you due on? full of water. I bet you haven't really put it on, its your body playing funny buggars but I know how disheartening it is.

I lost lb yesterday which I've regained today and am same weight I was for 2 weeks before Christmas, feel like I'm never going to get lower, sick of the sight if 16.2 now.

Lizzylou · 14/01/2013 10:08

Oh Bups, please don't lose heart, I weigh on Wednesdays and this morning had a sneaky peek and it looked like I was 2lbs on. I know I am not though. Clothes feel looser etc.

Could you ask your GP about the anti-d's?

What about upping exercise? Would help you lose inches and tone, boost your metabolism? The 10 minute solution DVDs are a fab starter. Much less difficult than the Shred and you can fit one 10minute one in or do more.

BupcakesAndCunting · 14/01/2013 10:11

I am loggng religiously, Shiney. Almost obsessively, actually. Hmm

I am having porridge made with almond milk or two boiled eggs for breakfast, a tuna and salad wrap for lunch or some cous cous and then usually a recipe from the Hairy Dieters book for dinner. if I have curry or similar, I've been having bulgur wheat to cut down on carbs. Snack wise, I've been having a Muller Light fat free Greek yoghurt or some 99 cal crisps.

OP posts:
BupcakesAndCunting · 14/01/2013 10:12

Have not had a plop yet...

OP posts:
DoubleMum · 14/01/2013 10:17

You've been doing really well, you won't not lose weight, this is definitely a blip.

BupcakesAndCunting · 14/01/2013 10:39

OK have been for a crappola and I seem to be 1.5ish pounds back down.

Hmmmm.

nilbyname · 14/01/2013 10:42

bups Have you been exercising lots? Do not get too down bout it. I have yet to weigh myself and I am certain I will be the same. Certain.

As for your meds...well without wanting to sound like a right cnut, the reason you are feeling we is perhaps because your meds are working and if you were to come off them then you might feel crappy again. Talking from experience (my own, my SILS, my big cus, my dad) this is a familiar cycle. No one want to take meds forever, so make sure you do talk it through with your GP.

Are you retaining water?

No plops? Prune juice and lots of deep squats will get it moving Grin

GetOrf · 14/01/2013 10:44

Are you weighing everything you eat buppy? I know it is boring but if I weigh something out by eye I end up with desperate Dan portions.

It could well be the antids. But don't just come off them in a hurry because of your weight - make sure you do feel well enough, and perhaps think about reducing your dose first of all instead of just stopping (some of them have hideous withdrawal anyway).

Talking about such things, I was on antids once years ago and they completely took my appetite away. I had no desire to eat at all. One of the listed side effects was anorexia (not in the eating disorder context, rather than its scientific meaning of 'not eating'). It was very strange. I just lived on coffee. They were vile though (loads of other side effects as well) so didn't stay on them.

BupcakesAndCunting · 14/01/2013 10:47

"bups Have you been exercising lots?"

No.

Just booked an appointment with my GP (he has been making noises about me coming off them for months...) so will see what he says! I am CERTAIN that this is where the weight has come from. I am the same weight as when I was pregnant!

I can't plop until I've had a coffee but didn't want to weigh myself post coffee

Definitely weighing, getorf. I am not cheating myself at all, honest. Everything is weighed, everything is logged. :(

GetOrf · 14/01/2013 10:49

Plus, where are you in your cycle? That always makes me put on loads just before.

Also, tell me to piss right off if it is too personal but what conraception do you use? Some of those play havoc with weight gain. Like depo provera injections and the implant.

juneybean · 14/01/2013 10:49

Someone said up thread about salty food and retaining water, have you been eating anything salty?

BupcakesAndCunting · 14/01/2013 10:58

I reckon I'm ovulating, there or there abouts.

I use the best contraception that you can get; no sex. Wink God, I had injections when I was 18 and went from an 8-10 to a 16in weeks. That was the hardest weight to shift because it just seemed like solid bulk rather than flab.

Nothing too salty that I can think of...

Chin up, Bups. It's a marathon, not a sprint. A lot of the initial losses (and gains) are probably water rather than actual lard coming off. I know seeing the scales come down is a powerful motivator but even if you have gone up a bit, doesn't mean that you won't come down in the long run - I guess that's why it;s best not to weight yourself too often.

I had a dreadful weekend diet-wise, got absolutely trashed on saturday as was at a party. Drank loads and got v drunk as hadn't lined my stomach beforehand with plenty of carbs - dieting and drinking do not mix! Still, fresh start this week. Also v annoyed as have lost 4 pounds but bollocksed up my initial weight on MFP (can't count how many pounds in a stone, clearly), so it actually looks like I've gone up. Oh well.

Mondays are a fresh start, so let's just move on from any disasters at the weekend and go again this week.

juneybean · 14/01/2013 11:05

Well there's your problem, start having more sex! Just kidding, I wonder how many calories are burned during masturbation

BupcakesAndCunting · 14/01/2013 11:15

That's the other thing: sertraline has totally killed my sex drive, which didn't have all that much petrol in it to start with tbpfh.

OP posts:
ScarfHatSunglasses · 14/01/2013 11:17

Ah bups Just tell your scales to fuck right off. Bastarding cheating bastards. Angry

GetOrf · 14/01/2013 11:25

Bups - when I came off antids for good early last year I turned into Sid James. I swear to god. I started loads of threads on here about it (didn't help that I had nobody to sleep with).

My poor colleagues, I used to sit and daydream filth about them. Still do sometimes. And I don't even fancy them. They are just men, who are there.

The tablets do dampen everything down to a shocking degree. BUT it is better than the alternative. So do take it slowly and surely if you do come off them.

laurenamium · 14/01/2013 12:22

Sad bups. You've got some really good advice off people on here though! I put on weight in the week before my period as I hold lots of water and turn into a walrus for the week!
