I can't even bring myself to type in my weight because I am so ashamed :(

I need to lose 3.5 stone before the end of May (going on holiday with a thin friend) I am doing My Fitness Pal (calorie counting) and I am going to do 1200 calories a day. It's brutal I know but then so was the reading on my scales this morning.

Effing Nora :(

yep the 'choose your hard' is working for me as well - most recently this afternoon when I picked up a bag of Tangfastics to buy and then PUT IT BACK...!

tsc I am watching madmen. I am looking at Betty Draper as a body model, tis research. Wink

GetOrf · 09/01/2013 20:41

I have only had a tuna wrap all day. I don't mean to sound like twats like alexa chung but have seriously been too busy to eat.

DoubleMum · 09/01/2013 20:41

I don't think you're supposed to exercise if you're in agony. (Particularly something called shred which sounds like someone is attacking you with a grater.) It's against the law or something.

DoubleMum · 09/01/2013 20:41

Getorf I sometimes have days like that. If I had lots of days like that I would be thin!!

Chubfuddler · 09/01/2013 20:44

SW lady's scales are evil. Four pound more than at home this morning.

My shred avoidance is so extreme I am ironing

DoubleMum · 09/01/2013 20:45

Tell SW lady her scales obviously need re-calibrating.

I find doing it again helps the sore bits TSC
Sorry to be one of 'those' people

BehindLockNumberNine · 09/01/2013 20:47

Can't find the 'choose your hard' but I assume it is where you choose something that you find hard to eat in moderation so you cut it out alltogether?

That would have to be biscuits for me.

But I loves them Sad

Lizzylou · 09/01/2013 20:51

TSC, Lulu is right re: shred, it does ease after a couple of days but best to stick with it. It honestly, truly gets easier. I promise.
Sorry!

Hope all is OK Noddy.

DottyDot · 09/01/2013 20:53

it was just something someone said (Maureen?!) further down the thread about losing weight is hard but being fat is hard - choose your hard....

Makes sense to me and I had it in mind when I was picking up the most delicious Tangfastics.

PoohBearsHole · 09/01/2013 20:54

Shredders (not admitting to still having it in the packet!) if you can't shred because h s bsy watching one thing, lie on the floor and do sit ups or crunches.

One dy I shll foll my own advice!

Mary Cadogan chicken and white bean stew under 300 calories and it is yummy and filling!

Anyone considering The Shred, you don't have to buy it, it's all on YouTube.

namechanger11111 · 09/01/2013 21:03

I picked up a mint kitkat chunky yesterday and looked at the cals of 188 and put it back. I was quite annoyed when I ended the day with more than enough left over to have had that.

PinkyCheesy · 09/01/2013 21:05

I am struggling to eat enough! As per Shiny's advice, I upped my calories to 1400 as I am over 14 st and want to lose 2 1/2. The last 2 days I have been only eating about 800cal. I don't want to eat biscuits (well, I do...) to increase it, I am more interested in improving my nutrition (I am anemic because my body won't store iron properly). What do you gurus recommend? maybe cheese?

I am panda101paws on MFP if anyone is bored enough to want to check out my food diary Wink

DoubleMum · 09/01/2013 21:08

How about some nuts and dried fruits Pinky? They are relatively calorific for their size but good for you too.

Lulabellarama · 09/01/2013 21:09

I've added you pink, now show me your diary!

ScarfHatSunglasses · 09/01/2013 21:11

behind here it is:
'Being overweight is hard. Losing weight is hard. Choose your hard. '

(From Shiney about 3000 posts back)

Notfootball · 09/01/2013 21:12

I'm Elfme on MFP.

TSC I reckon the best time to shred is definitely first thing, your body will be in high fat-burning mode afterwards so a good time to eat breakfast. I'm getting up before the children (well I did this morning) to get it out of the way.

Hope you're okay Noddy.

BehindLockNumberNine · 09/01/2013 21:12

Thanks Dotty, yes, you are right, that makes sense...
But Tangfastics are delicious....

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 09/01/2013 21:17

I agree with DoubleMum, nuts are good for boosting calories if you need to and are beauties for the hair/nails/skin. Avocado if you like it, chopped into some salad (bloody love avocado), hummous with some pitta bread to dip into it?

oh dear, just watched 10 minutes of shred on youtube and got bored... doesn't say much about my motivation that I get bored just watching it.
