I can't even bring myself to type in my weight because I am so ashamed :(

I need to lose 3.5 stone before the end of May (going on holiday with a thin friend) I am doing My Fitness Pal (calorie counting) and I am going to do 1200 calories a day. It's brutal I know but then so was the reading on my scales this morning.

Its so helpful to hear what foods are good etc. I think I've spent so long on diets like SW/WW where you get a distorted view of what you should be eating - you can take takeaways everyday as long as you stay within your points! That's a healthy or sustainable way to live.

I want to change my habits for good. To educate myself so I don't slip up and end up back on another thread like this in a years time - even bigger than I am now.

I agree about portion size WiseKneeHair, I used to do the same when I was with h. Measure the adults plates out to be the same size - even though I knew I should be eating less calories than him.

I've never thought of seeds and nuts as a snack before see how rubbish I am at this. Do you just throw some in a bowl and mix them up?

I'm all confused by the BMR/TDEE thing. I think it means I should be upping my calorie count. I shall have to reread it properly later on.

I have come to ask you all to give me a kick up the big fat ass. You can't miss, it is huge!! Did not fit in my favourite blue work trousers this morning. They fit before Christmas!
And how did I respond to this, in all my infinitive wisdom? Oh yes, I scoffed two massive wedges of pannetone in the staff room at work and then came home and had more chocolate hobnobs then should be legal.

Just can't fecking do it. No motivation, no self control, no willpower, and food just tastes too bloody nice.

I've found today much easier now I've moved to 1400 cals. Based on that whole TDEE/MBR gubbins I could probably up it a bit.

No doubt at all for me is the evil of two things: snacks and cheese! I'm a sahm and this has made me realise just how often I just grab a couple of biscuits.

I also like the advice up thread about focusing on food for now if you're not used to exercising. My plan is to start exercising properly in Feb.

I give up chocolate for Lent each year which I find really helpful at reducing binges. I think this year I'll give up biscuits or crisps too.

So pleased to be amongst chiefs Grin

Oh and I'm HeyHeySaturday on MFP.

behind look up thread for the quote about "choose your hard". That helped me, it isn't easy but none of us like how we look now. Forget today, start tomorrow. I have found the MFP food-input thing ahmayyzing. It's all these little decisions that push us over. For me too one chocolate hob-nob would become 5 in no time.

I just ate rather alot of G&B chocolate. Flippin hell!

It was in the fridge it was shouting at me, "eat me and I will be gone!!" So I did, and now it is. I feel a bit sickie though.

We do not have biscuits in the house, ever! And will only buy those baked crisps for DS lunch box.
