The previous thread title and OP wad intended for information only, but as a few people arrived wanting a bit of mutual support, I thought a more specific thread title might be in order, esp if there's anyone else wanting to join in. I think the cashback deal on online membership expires now, anyway.

Can you introduce yourselves with a quick summary of your aims, please?

I'll be doing Weight Watchers online only. DS is nearly 10 weeks and I'm BFing, so I get 40PPs a day, plus the weeklies. I'm not sure how easily the weight will come off with that amount, but can't cut down any further yet.

I have 3 1/2 st to lose altogether. I'm currently 12st 7lb and was 10st pre-DC after previous success with WW. I'd like to go a bit further this time.

My short term goal is to be a bit slimmer for a family wedding next month. Unfortunately I'm the gat cousin and need any extra confidence I can get.

My WI is Thursday. So far, so good. I'm snacking but sticking to my PPs + weeklies. Struggling to get much exercise due to two poorly DCs, but hoping to find time for a DVD today.

Sorry it was from Sainsburys!

onthemetro · 09/01/2013 18:47

That sounds really lovely, I'll have to look out for it next time I'm there!

tanfastic · 09/01/2013 19:57

I second the WW brownie desserts. Scrumptious Smile

Vajazzler · 09/01/2013 20:30

Well had an eventful day today.

Walked the school run both times, 6.8 miles in total. Forgot to dig out my pedometer but putting the times into the tracker it tells me i've earned 15pp today Shock

My tracker today looks like this

B- porridge 30g 3pp
1pint skimmed milk 5pp
banana
L- Ham sandwich thin 4pp
2x S&V snackajacks 2pp
Bowl of 0pp 'vajazzler soup'
D- 2x WW sausages 3pp
Mashed swede 0pp
Mixed Veg 0pp
Bisto Best gravy 4pp
Anytime WW cereal bar 2pp, twirl 5pp, 2x chocolate snackajacks 3pp

31/37

Been extra good today, got 6pp left but nothing interesting in the cupboards that i want to eat!

chillyigloo · 09/01/2013 20:31

For some reason, giant wholemeal couscous is pictured in my mind as looking like a lovely big serving of malteasers Blush

I think I need more food!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 09/01/2013 20:47

Well I succumbed (sp) to a curly wurly earlier but then I ran 3.9 miles in 42 mins so that helped.

Love the vajazzler soup. we should submit it to WW for the magazine Wink

didireallysaythat · 09/01/2013 21:03

AddictedtoCrunchies - if I could run 3.9 miles in 42 mins I think I would have had two... I'm stuck forever on week 5 of couch 2 5k...

Weigh in tomorrow... I haven't tracked properly again and I don't feel lighter so I'm not expecting a good result. I used to be great at tracking but recently I've been rubbish.

Can anyone recommend a smart phone app for tracking, scanning bar codes etc with a decent database of foods ? The WW one is awful on my phone....

SallyBear · 09/01/2013 21:03

I had a lovely dinner tonight - Lime and ginger marinaded chicken breast with lemon and coriander giant whole grain couscous. Unbelievably on the F&H it was zero points! Not sure what that works out in ProPoints.

Recipe:
Chicken breast marinaded in;
Zest and juice of a lime
1 clove of garlic crushed
1 tspn of grated fresh ginger
Fry the chicken in a hot griddle pan with frylight

100g Giant couscous - boiled in stock until cooked (8-10 mins) then sieve and drain thoroughly. Put in a bowl. Fork 1 tspn of sunflower oil through the couscous. Add 1 crushed clove of garlic and 1 tspn of fresh grated ginger. Cover and allow to cool.
Juice and zest of a lemon or lime
1 heaped tspn of sweet chilli sauce
1 tablespoon of chopped fresh coriander
Chopped spring onions
Cucumber deseeded and cut into chunks
Red pepper cut into chunks. Mix thoroughly.

I served it with salad leaves.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 09/01/2013 21:10

didireallysaythat I did Couch to 5k when I started running in June 2010. It was bloody hard work as I couldn't run for 60 seconds when I started. You just have to keep plugging away. I actually ran a half marathon in October which was also very hard but one of my most proudest achievements after DS.

I then didn't run until just before Chistmas but my fitness came back quite quickly and I'm sure that's because my body is used to it now after 2.5 years of running. (I've nothing scientific to back that up it's just what I think).

The best thing I ever did running-wise was join a local running group and I go out with them twice a week. There's always someone to run with and it's easier if you can natter your way round.

Livinginorganisedchaos · 09/01/2013 21:11

Evening everyone, I am loving all the recipie suggestions. SallyBear Your dinner sounded lovely tonight.
I am feeling knackered after a busy day at work and still suffering with a chest infection. I managed to avoid chocolate at work and made it home to have a toasted crumpet and cup of tea.
I have bought some of the WW cake slices tonight (on special offer in Sainsburys) to keep in my office at work for when I have to work late. They are only 2PP so hopefully will be a lower point alternative to chocolate.
I also love the Options chocolate drinks as they are only 1PP and are delicious.
Quite excited about my weigh in on Friday now!

didireallysaythat · 09/01/2013 21:38

AddictedtoCrunchies - that's what I needed to hear ! I started last year and was doing quite well I thought. But then the clocks changed... I run down two country lanes, along a tractor trail and then up a muddy path to the top of a hill. It's a nice 30 minute circuit, but it's a death trap in the dark as it's mostly unpaved. I tried with a head torch but got seasick ! So I stopped last October on week 6. I did manage to get out new years eve in the monsoon... (I tried week 4 and it was ok) But I haven't been out since...

A running club sounds good - if we can start getting the boys to sleep before 9:30pm I could drive to the next town where I think there is one..

AddictedtoCrunchies · 09/01/2013 21:56

That's the trouble with running this time of year, it has to be roads for safety. But we did a route tonight. that was reasonably interesting. Lots of people hadn't shut their curtains so we could have a good noseWink

If you run then you are a runner and part of a massive world wide group of like minded people. I get quite a sense of pride being part of such a group. And the benefits are amazing. Just keep at it Smile. Smile. Smile

didireallysaythat · 09/01/2013 22:08

OK I'm inspired ! I may go for my weigh in and then a run (I have to go into town for this).

The best time would be lunchtime but the men at work are going through their midlife crises training for marathons so there's no way I can go out for fear if them seeing me shuffling along while they bath in testosterone leap like gazelles...

SallyBear · 10/01/2013 07:36

Morning! How is everyone today? I have no idea what I am cooking today yet, but yesterday's couscous was a success.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 10/01/2013 08:31

Think how great you're going to feel after a run. It'll be worth it.

My day involves porridge (eaten), vajazzle soup for lunch and something spectacular with a chicken breast for tea. Exercise is a netball match tonight plus the school run.

I had a sneaky check of the scales this morning and they're heading in the right direction. Grin. Just got to keep it going now.

Have a great day all. Thanks

LegoAcupuncture · 10/01/2013 08:43

I have added the ingredients for vajazzle soup to my shopping list. Shall attempt to make it tomorrow, however I am crap at making soup, it turns out like dish water.

So far have had banana and grapes. Might make some crisp bread and philly in a bit though. DH doing school run so just relaxing for a bit.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 10/01/2013 09:01

Lego I'm rubbish too usually but it's really tasty. And very hot as I used chilli flakes plus the passata had chilli in. Go for it Grin

MagdalenVanstone · 10/01/2013 12:24

Hello everyone, just checking in Smile

Well first couple of days have been OK

Rejoined the gym yesterday so I'm sllightly frail this morning but I felt so good after the session until I seized up

Thanks to whoever it was upthread who suggested mini babybel light 1pp each, i'd have never even looked it them if not for the suggestion, and they have really helped with the cheese withdrawal - they taste like cheap brie which will do for me!

I'm off to the shops later and will buy some curly wurlys (another great tip, thanks)

I'm thinking of making the Iman Bayaldi in the Greg Wallace WW booklet, has anyone tried this yet?

I'm confused as it says 4points per serving, but then says serve with mini pitta bread so I don't know if I have to add the points for that or they are included...anyone know?

MathsDebater · 10/01/2013 12:36

oh I love cous cous!

Lego I had a pizza and then some apple strudel with ice cream. definitely not worth it now!

What's the virtual Gastric Band app about?

MathsDebater · 10/01/2013 12:41

didireallysaythat I have an app called 'points plus diary' its a fantastic alternative to the WW official one, it has a scanner too. The only thing that isn't as good is that it doesn't have recipes and the restaurant guide isn't as extensive.

jazzcat28 · 10/01/2013 12:47

Morning everyone! Am "working from home" so more time to MN!

I had a really awful day at work yesterday and was craving a pig out. I am half way through my first week of WW and hadn't yet used my weekly point allowance so stopped off at Asda and bought a relatively healthy indian feast:

Asda low calorie Chicken Sizzler meal (fresh section) - 7pp
60g brown rice - 6pp
2 Asda bhajis from the indian takeaway bit - 8pp
2 Asda mini naan from the indian takeaway bit - 11pp

Total 33pp but totally worth it!! I felt satisfied with my 'I need a takeaway' craving and actually really full. Could have just had 1 naan. (I also had only eaten 12pp of my daily allowance so still have some weekly allowance left)

The chicken sizzler was really yummy and tasted just like Chicken karai from an indian. Not much sauce mainly chicken (lots of pieces) and veg.

Today my meals look like this:

Breakfast
2 wheetabix - 3pp
350ml skimmed milk (for breakfast and teas in the day) - 3pp
banana - 0pp

Lunch
undecided yet

Dinner
King prawns - 4pp (am being greedy and having a whole pack to myself)
noodles - 8pp
stir fry veg - 0pp
sir fry sauce - 3pp

I am on a daily allowance of 36pp but if my scales are correct I'm going down in weight so presume this allowance will be cut in a couple of weeks

LegoAcupuncture · 10/01/2013 12:59

Virtual gastric band is hypno therapy, works quite well and helps keep me focused.

My day so far has been:

Banana 0pp
2 crackerbreads 1pp
1 individual tub extra light philli 1pp
Smearing of marmite 0pp
Muller light strawberry yoghurt 2pp

M&S fuller longer chicken and three mushroom tagliatelle 12pp

So 16/37 so far

Will most likely have the other M&S meal tonight, think it is chicken curry at 10pp. So will have 11pp left. Oh what to have?!

flatmouse · 10/01/2013 13:00

Day 4 for me today. Have managed to only use a few weekly points and not use any activity points. The weekly points came out yesterday - as in a bid to eat up what's in the freezer i had a chicken portion (with bone/skin) roasted - weight of it (250g) meant it was 16 points just for that!!! (Maybe that explains where i have been going wrong in the past!).
I've never really succeeded with giant cous-cous. Have the normal stuff sorted and delicious, but find the giant stuff a bit stodgy - presume I'm doing something wrong in the cooking.
Am making myself have breakfast - means i get some milk in, and Aldi's (Harvest Morn) weetabix is only 3 points for 2 biscuits. Delicious lunch. Homemade wholemeal bread roll, smear of salad cream, sliced cucumber, sliced tomato - made at 7:30am, eaten at 12 noon - delicious! (Normally i seem to require meat or cheese - but i loved that) Had some star crisps (low fat, slightly lower pp) and 4 satsumas too. Just need to make sure i don't blow it tonight :)
Well done on those weight losses posted - Monday is my weigh-in day.

LegoAcupuncture · 10/01/2013 13:00

Jazz, I found last time I did this that your points go down by one every time I lost 7lbs.

onthemetro · 10/01/2013 13:02

Afternoon ladies, I'm about to go out for lunch with a friend, haven't seen her for a few months and I'm very excited. She chose a burrito bar as the venue, burritos aren't great but I've got 20pp left of my daily allowance and 35pp of my weeklies left so I should be ok. From what I can gather, a burrito should be around 20/25pp but obviously that's depending on what's in it - going to try and stay away from too much cheese/sour cream/guacamole!

Had Cheerios for breakfast, 30g for 3pp and 30g is loads! Was pleasantly surprised!
