  • I also do few minutes of extra stretching in the end, don't think she does enough on dvd.
ScaredySquirrel · 08/01/2013 12:12

I did day1 too today - inspired by you (dvd sitting on my shelf since I bought it in the summer). Also combining it with 5:2 and cutting out all chocolate/cakes etc (I am addicted to sugar, and never used to be).

Hope to lose the still pregnant look 8 months after having the baby (am down to pre-baby weight, but stomach still looks 5 months pregnant) and stop my arms flapping when I move them.

KatyPeril · 08/01/2013 12:15

It arrived! Wish me luck......

PrettyPirate · 08/01/2013 13:08

Good luck Katy!! Smile

TooImmatureMincePies · 08/01/2013 13:47

I failed to do it last night - bad! I will do it tonight, I will, I will! Think might put DD to bed before I have dinner and do it before I eat...unless I get home starving. Hmm.

Day 2. I didn't want to do it but DH shoved me upstairs with the laptop as soon as I got in (DVD hasn't arrived yet). He knows me so well; if I'd sat down I wouldn't get back up.

That woman is cruel. The bicycle things: why? Why? Why at the end?

I'm a bit trembly and my thighs hurt from yesterday. But I'm glad I did it :)

Mrsrudolphduvall · 08/01/2013 18:53

Just done mine.
Just anout to have M and S curry Grin

LucyVFood · 08/01/2013 19:01

Meant to ask, is anyone on here on My Fitness Plan? If so, what do you put the Shred down as? I've been saying aerobics so far.

cafecito · 08/01/2013 20:30

I have not done day 2 yet but 'must shred before bed' so I shall then (though I'm eating curry first mrsrudolph Blush probably not the best idea

KiteyDelighty · 08/01/2013 20:31

I just started with myfitnessplan today. I have managed to meet the 1200 cal target with the help of l1d5 of the shred I think I put it down as circuit training but not sure if that is the best option or not.

TooImmatureMincePies · 08/01/2013 20:41

Must Shred before bed too, Cafecito! Am aiming to start soon.

Did it! Bloody knackered - today was much harder than Sunday! L1D3 - think will try not to skip a day for the next 4 or so. Stopping and then restarting seems to be hard going. Or it could be that this is day 4 of the low-carb bootcamp and I'm feeling a bit carb-fluey. Confused Who knows?

OP posts:
cafecito · 08/01/2013 23:13

ouch, did it!

Standingonlego · 08/01/2013 23:53

Another "shred before bed" person here, just done day 5 level 1. It is getting a bit easier...it is my calves that are really sore! Agree with the more stretching needed comments.

ScarletLady02 · 09/01/2013 08:28

Hey all, a bit late to the party but I've been thinking about doing this for a few days so thought I'd look for like minded (crazy and sore) people to help motivate me.

I started a diet in October and have lost a stone so far (but put on 3lbs over Christmas), but I'm WOEFULLY unfit so wanted to do something bouncy as well.

I've downloaded the vid, think I'll start tomorrow.....sounds crazy but I'm thinking of getting up early and doing it before anyone gets up. I have a 2 yr old who doesn't nap and I don't think I'll have the energy in the evening.

Mrsrudolphduvall · 09/01/2013 08:44

I've just done mine and am now enjoying porridge.

A question for you shred experts...once I have done the 30 days, is there another dvd to do?

beela · 09/01/2013 12:27

I just shredded while my poorly 2yo watched a postman pat special on the laptop on the sofa - he would usually be running around causing havoc (well, actually we'd usually be out at our outdoor toddler group today) so I took the opportunity. Not sure if that makes me a bad mum or a dedicated exerciser?

I was doing L3 but I have started from the beginning with heavier weights and different bits ache now.

I spotted Natalie having a rest on the static lunges on L1 while Jillian was looking at Anita Shock - so that's how she manages it without breaking a sweat.

mum2twoloudbabies · 09/01/2013 12:34

Grin I spotted that too beela and Shock at L3, it makes me shake just thinking about it.

TooImmatureMincePies · 09/01/2013 13:25

Mrsrudolph, I am by no means an expert, but you can either go back to beginning and just use heavier weights, like Beela, or try one of Jillian's other DVDs. She's got some called things like No More Trouble Zones or 6 Week 6 Pack, but I think they're all longer than the Shred. I like knowing that it will all be over in 20 minutes!

froufroulala · 09/01/2013 17:02

The DVD arrived this morning. Although I haven't progressed beyond warm ups yet Blush I have tried to improve my fitness in other ways so wish me luck I start properly tomorrow. And well done to you all, you inspire me.

IslaValargeone · 09/01/2013 17:14

TooImmature I know what you mean about knowing it will be over in 20 minutes. It seems so much more manageable, although having said that I did find myself shouting "Thankyou Jesus" at the end of my first session!

WillieWaggledagger · 09/01/2013 17:39

Am away with work so have failed to do L1D2 so far. Sounds like a good excuse but if I were more dedicated I would be doing it in my hotel room! Have done plenty of walking though. I WILL do it tomorrow night!

LucyVFood · 09/01/2013 18:45

Day three. I did it, but I was muttering 'Bitch' at Gillian under my breath, especially when she said she wanted my legs to burn Angry

KiteyDelighty · 09/01/2013 20:09

I was not in the mood for it today but since I had just bought an exercise mat it seemed a bit pathetic not to. So pleased I did it now .Level 1 day 6 over.

TooImmatureMincePies · 09/01/2013 20:47

Arf at muttering 'Bitch' under your breath, Lucy! Yy, I don't want my legs to burn, thank you very much.

I don't ache as much today (Shredded three times in 4 days; haven't done it today yet but I WILL), although I did give myself a day off high heels too. 2 days running of heels after months and months of not wearing them = v sore feet! I'm going back on them tomorrow, though.
