To continue chatting and preparing for the official start on 7th.

Rules and veg info can be found on the tabs on the old spreadsheet here.

I can't get the spreadsheet to work from my phone, so for the record I'm 168lbs.

Ruprekt · 06/01/2013 19:19

Will weigh myself tomorrow.

Dinner was lovely.

Might have a little cheese later. We all drank water at dinner. Have told the boys we are cutting back on sugar so am trying to wean them off sweet drinks.

Jacaqueen · 06/01/2013 19:26

I am getting excited!

I have been sort of low carbing the past few days but not to Bootcamp strictness. My body won't know what has hit it. Actually, as I have only been off plan for two weeks, maybe I will slip back into it with no problems.

Just drinking the last bottle of wine that I will be having for a while.

Yddraigoldragon · 06/01/2013 19:31

BiWi Can I go in as 100 too please?

Ruprekt · 06/01/2013 19:39

BiWi Can I go in as 100 too please?

goldragon what does that mean??

TheSandstoneCat · 06/01/2013 19:39

Cradling large gin & tonic as I type this in the bath :)
Just before we begin can I ask some of you to share your weight loss successes from last year - I find it very motivating. I wasn't part of the group then and I want to know how you all did. I low carbed on my own last year and am now 8 kg lighter than this time last year so am pleased with myself. Am also aware that me BMI is still (slightly) too high and that I fail (just) the waist/hip ratio so I know there is still work to be done. It's quite strange really as I'm actually feeling a bit pissed off about how much I weigh rather than pleased about how much I have lost Confused. So - please share your weight losses to inspire me :)

Jacaqueen · 06/01/2013 19:42

Ruprekt some people don't want to post their actual weight so they start at 100 and just record the weight they lose each week.

Jacaqueen · 06/01/2013 19:46

Marigold bouillon is fine to use. It has a few carbs per teaspoon.

slatternlymother · 06/01/2013 19:51

Been linked in from chat. Want to cut out sugar etc, but didnt realise fruit was so bad!

So for breakfast tomorrow, I was going to have plain yoghurt with a banana and my snacks were going to be apples. What can I switch these out for?

Also, I was going to do chicken with pesto tomorrow for dinner, and pasta. What can I swap pasta with please? Thankyou!

Ruprekt · 06/01/2013 19:51

DH wants to know if he will EVER be allowed to eat pizza again.

Grin

'Ask the Mums' he begged!!!!

NellVarnish · 06/01/2013 19:55

Oh thanks Willie Smile I will give it a go - I've done loads of diets before - WW, SW, CD, slimming tablets (bad I know!) fasting, whatever and the same three stone have been off an on about eleventy million times.

BigStick - thank you, will certainly watch that when I'm not on stupid phone.

So I will weigh in morning and go from 100 then put any loss in next Monday? (sorry for all the questions)

Smile
cocolepew · 06/01/2013 20:01

You found us slatternlymother! Grin
Bananas are very high, changing to berries would be better. If you aren't cutting out carbs wholemeal pasta might be bettter.
If you like cheese you could eat that instead of your apples.

Stylelostinlabour · 06/01/2013 20:01

Evening losers :)

Had a lovely weekend of yummy food

B eggs and mushrooms
L chickens and celery with pâté on
D slow roast lamb shoulder with creamy cabbage and roast cauliflower

Question

why am I not windy with all these greens and why haven't I poo'd?

Jacaqueen · 06/01/2013 20:01

Of course he can eat pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni if he likes. You just have to get creative with the ingredients for the base. Flax meal and cauliflower are popular choices. Have a look on the recipe thread.

jan2013 · 06/01/2013 20:03

i could go in at 100 too if thats ok

waves hi

slatternlymother · 06/01/2013 20:05

Hmm, I will definitely cut out the pasta. What can I put with it instead? Cauliflower cheese any good?

I will put blueberries in my yoghurt tomorrow morning instead.

Chicken salad with avocado for lunch. Is that good?

cocolepew · 06/01/2013 20:06

When I was younger I was very ill after having a gastrointestinal thingy, I basically had chronic fatigue. I was advised that sugar was my problem and had to cut it iut completely, but I was still eating fruit. During that time I went to the dentist who told me off for eating to many sweets, she could see sugar damage on my teeth. I told her I never touched them but was eating a lot of fruit. She didn't believe me.

My gran was a diabetic and was advised on which fruits to eat.

LucyVFood · 06/01/2013 20:06

Style, I'd like to second the pooing questions, especially after all the cabbage!

cocolepew · 06/01/2013 20:09

I didn't poo for a couple of days but didn't feel constipated, IYSWIM? Went this morning if you're interested Grin

Jacaqueen · 06/01/2013 20:09

No fruit for the first few weeks at least.

Cheese, ham, celery with pâté or cream cheese, pork scratchings, boiled eggs, bacon strips, smoked sausage, pepperami all make good snacks. After the first few weeks you can have nuts and seeds. But really in a few days once you are in ketosis you want really need snacks as you won't be hungry.

Have some roast veg with your chicken or cut up some leeks into strips and fry them in butter with a splash of cream and some grated parmesan. Tastes like carbonara.

littlemissstan · 06/01/2013 20:13

I've dropped off the list for some reason, but am on the spreadsheet I think so all ready to go! I have just FEASTED on steak and DP's homemade coleslaw, think I could get used to this...

Good luck everyone!

Yddraigoldragon · 06/01/2013 20:16

Thanks Jacaqueen

Suttyshotty · 06/01/2013 20:23

Good luck fellow no-carbers, are we ready for the off? I've stocked up on naice bacon, my tuna salad is packed and ready for lunch and I'm sadly quite excited because I know I'll feel better and have lost at least some of the lard by this time next week....although first day back to work post Christmas without a little glass of wine is not ideal Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 06/01/2013 20:30

we can probably abandon the list now that everyone is (hopefully) on the spreadsheet

Ruprekt · 06/01/2013 20:31

Could someone link to the Red Cabbage recipe please.

TIA

AM quite excited!!!
