Cambridge Diet 5 stone goal

Anyone want to join me? I'm starting tomorrow. Have had great success on CD before but 2 babies and a hellish 2012 have led to a terrible weight gain.

I know some people disapprove, but it works for me. Previously I used it to lose weight and then maintained eating a healthy diet with plenty of protein, veg and occasional fruit and starchy veg, a bit of brown rice every now and then. Nuts, seeds, small amounts of dairy. It worked really well and I felt great for years. As soon as I started snacking on sugary crap because I was so stressed and upset, the weight piled on and I craved carby meals. I couldn't face my usual healthy , tasty meals which I previously really enjoyed. Totally vicious cycle. Anyway, the stress has gone and I'm determined to fix my weight and my health.

I want to keep this thread positive, motivational and free from talk of food and cheating!

Start weight 14.3 (yikes)

WTG Pombear, that is awesome. So pleased for you Grin

DontForgetTheLightAlesLawrence · 14/01/2013 00:22

Ooh, hello. I'm at the end of day 4; the last two days have been awful, but I'm hanging in there.

I'm going to swap the vile leek and potato soup, vegetable soup and maple and pecan porridge tomorrow. I can still smell the leek and potato soup. YUCK.

Am preferring the shakes, despite being a savoury lover.

I am huge - would like to lose 5-6 stone.

Oh yeah, anyone else having/had insomnia in the early days?

I have not slept until 3/4 in the morning for the last few nights.

Thanks! Nearly a stone already, so so pleased!

To anyone suffering in the early days, just stick with it. It gets better, benefits:

Stomach feels great, no bloating
Masses of energy when.ketosis kicks in
Amazing weight loss

The first bit it hard but it really works so just get through it.

If you're really struggling, eat something low fat and low car, like a few slices of ham.or chicken. Have a diet coke or a skinny cappuccino. Anything that will keep you going without totally giving up.

Remember any cheating will throw you right back yo the start and you'll have to endure the really hard few days again.so its just not worth it.

In a few months you will be CONSIDERABLY slimmer!!! So stick with it!

Red bush and green tea fine. I drink gallons.

I hate the soups. I stick to Choc shakes but I do crave savory like mad!

Keep going everyone and wrap up warm! I'm always freezing on this diet!

busyhouseof8 · 14/01/2013 08:21

Hooray hooray. First week done and lost 10.5lbs!

I had said to myself that if I could stick to plan for a week then I would carry on, so it looks like I'm on the bus!

Have a good day everybody. xx

TantrumsandBananas · 14/01/2013 09:58

Hi folks,

I did Exante last year and lost two stone, but gave up and have put it all back on....

So starting again Wednesday, only just ordered, hoping it will arrive tomorrow

I need to loose 4/5 stone.

Its the only thing that works for me. I don't tell anyone I'm doing it, apart from DH as people can be so negative, and try and put you off. Thing is I can be so easily swayed - I get confused and doubt myself and think its all wrong!

Does that make sense? Its lack of confidence I think.

Woohoo!! Well done Busy!!

OP posts:
DontForgetTheLightAlesLawrence · 14/01/2013 10:03

Excellent, Busy! It's reading these weight losses that is keeping me going. Day 5 for me and I'm still hungry! I've been 100% to plan and thought ketosis may be in by now. And no sleep again until gone 3, ggrrrr.

Does anyone else use minimins? There are some fabulously inspirational posters, you've just to get past the tickers, hunning and many posts ending 'xxxxxxxx'. Bad, grumpy Lawrence.

What does make me laugh is that, on the back of the soup packs, it reads something like "our delicious soups can be enjoyed by anyone". Yeah, if I wasn't a heffer, I'd choose a rank space soup over any other Hmm

Have a great day all you other skinnies-to-be.

busyhouseof8 · 14/01/2013 11:22

Based on advice on here I just whizzed up my black coffee with a pack of chocolate shake to make a "mocha". Less awful than I anticipated! I've run out of porridge and couldn't face a cold shake after freezing on school run.

PP - I played some sort of dance game with DD at the weekend on the Xbox. I was hopeless, but it gave the kids a laugh and was an excellent way to shake my booty and I ended up out of breath so I can recommend. Got some sort of fitness thing for the Xbox turning up soon but then that requires me to actually do it on my own, which I'm less good at. Why can't I be less lazy??

xx

Tis

I would have a small low carb lunch and start when your shakes arrive

An omelette or something like that?

We can all DO it! I will share before and after pics when.I'm.done
Too embarrassed now!

I'm SO motivated this time
I'm NEVER getting like this again.

Anyone else think this diet heightens your sense of smell?

Keep going all!

I know what you mean about the photos Pom and Tis.

DD who is 9 had to take an A4 photo of her mum in to dance class as they are all going to hold the pictures up in their show. Off her own back she told her teacher that "mum doesn't like photos of herself" so she was allowed to draw one! Quick thinking for her but a bit mortifying - why have I got to this position that I can't even look at a photo of myself.

Bloody hell - time to get sorted! xx
