No spreadsheet to link to this week, as the LBD challenge is now over!

I don't know about anyone else, but I have definitely not had the greatest of weeks, and I'm keeping on keeping on until we get to Christmas.

Not quite sure yet what my own Christmas strategy is going to be, but I also guess it depends on where I've got to with my weight by then. I know that, having achieved my first major target of losing 2 stones, I still have more to go. So my next really major, very psychological target, will be to reach 9 stone. Something I have been trying (and failing) to do for the last 10 years! But now it seems so much more achieveable, especially with all you lot giving such brilliant support.

This week for me starts with a super strict day today. I'm out to dinner tomorrow, with a groups of ex colleagues, and venue is not yet chosen, but is likely to be a Chinese, which always brings its own problems. not to mention the wine

I'm also out to lunch on Friday, so it looks like Wednesday and Thursday will also have to be super strict!

half its no bad thing for the other half to see what its like being super human on a continual basis ;)

what about watching funny utube videos if you can find any!

halfthesize · 11/01/2013 13:40

now searching youtubeWink

BigStickBIWI · 11/01/2013 13:44

jan - you would be better off looking for fattier meats to eat, and in that way you will up the proportion of fat vs protein. Turkey is a very lean meat.

Willie - I am not joining Ravelry. I've been sucked into knitting for the Woolly Hugs lot, and that is stretching my arty/craft skills well beyond their comfort zone!

half - if you're searching YouTube, see if you can find any more inspiring low carb stuff for us all

jan2013 · 11/01/2013 13:54

should i cut down on protein to compensate for extra fat or go for both?

i am also bored today. i have tons to do, but am too tired to get motivated. this is a utube video i laughed my legs off at - not typical of women drivers of course!!!

ToomuchWaternotWine · 11/01/2013 14:01

Afternoon ladies!

mrshp very sorry about the sad news Sad
half yay you are back, glad to see you, enjoy taking it easy (and remember to give the kids some sugar at about 5 pm so DH REALLY enjoys the bedtime routine )
gless my sleep is a bit erratic but I am feeling ok actually. I have a "nothing in the diary" day today so instead of housework, i decided to be "kind" to myself so had a lovely catch up with friends this morning, then browsed in the library for a bit. Home for lunch before I walk the dog and pick up Ds. Glad you had a nice night out, it's lovely to catch up with old friends when you all know each other well, relaxing.
willie I feel your pain! When I was working full time as a therapist before DS came along, I also gave up caffeine for about 5/6 years. Then I had Ds ..... [Hmm] Now I need one morning jolt and then I'm ok for the day usually, move onto decaf or herby teas. I like fruit/herbal type stuff so that's ok.
biwi the slogan pinned up in the staff room where I worked was "do as I say, not as I do" can't tell you the number of times we would finish our lovely holistic treatments - then dive over the road to the pub !!! Grin
dosh well done on getting to day ten. Has anyone been excommunicated from their own thread before? Wink you will need to incorporate PISS somewhere in your confession on Monday!

Right, shall I go,look at the week one 2nd thread or will I just run away?

halfthesize · 11/01/2013 14:40

Toomuch I am going to force feed DC the chocs I have been givenWink

I have just posted a couple of vids on bootcamp thread re LC science from youtube.

Jan that youtube link was so funnyGrin

ToomuchWaternotWine · 11/01/2013 16:13

I am also going to run away screaming from the Lanzarote/British fat people thread, it's doing me head in.

Right off to roast a turkey joint. Ds was bribed ate some turkey for Xmas and he actually liked a form of protein gasp, shock, so I'm capitalising on this for now and turkey will be on my meal plan once a week until it suddenly becomes the devil poison waaaah

Ilovemyteddy · 11/01/2013 17:45

Hello long timers! I'm another one who can't give up coffee, but have swapped my large latte for a medium Americano in the morning. I bloody hate black coffee!

Since we are in a confessional mode I had to admit that I have had chocolate practically every day since I started this WOE. Only one chocolate, or one square of dark choc, but EVERY day. 5 stones down now so I must be doing something right Grin

halfthesize · 11/01/2013 17:47

Wohoo teddy 5 stone is amazingGrin

BigStickBIWI · 11/01/2013 18:49

OMG don't tell the newbies that, ilovemyteddy! Grin

SingingTunelessly · 11/01/2013 21:22

Half, good to hear you are recovering well. Thanks

Well, I have been a BAD LCer today. Although in my defence my lovely mum did insist on afternoon tea whilst we were out. Finger sandwiches and clotted cream scones. Twas lovely though. Smile

Dosh, I LOVE Black Stump. Envy

Vnmum, hope the 26hr shift wasn't too bad. Although at the thought of it.

Viper, 3inches off the waste is fantastic!

SingingTunelessly · 11/01/2013 21:25

That's obviously off the WAIST!

nappyaddict · 11/01/2013 21:59

BIWI Should we eat more fat than protein or roughly an equal amount of fat and protein?

timidviper · 11/01/2013 22:13

half Glad you are ok, those cysts are buggers aren't they? I had one of those a while ago but luckily mine popped itself, much to my surprise Shock

Toomuch What sort of holistic therapies do you do? I love anything like that.

teddy 5 stone and eating chocolate?! Angry

Willie I've just posted on the other thread about my poor sleep at the moment. I'm getting about 4hrs a night and I don't even drink coffee! At work we have a Nespresso machine and the doctors drink the rocket fuel type coffees, they laugh at me because I'm jumpy and shaky (like Butters from South Park if anyone has seen it) after one cup. I'll have a decaff black americano about once a week and I'm still wide awake at bedtime!

BigStickBIWI · 11/01/2013 22:24

Nappy - we should be eating fat, then protein and then carbs

timidviper · 11/01/2013 22:31

Oh crap, I haven't got any idea what proportions of anything I'm eating. I just stick to pure proteins (like meat, fish, eggs), veg on the list and things I know are low carb. That has confuddled my poor brain, thinking of having to calculate fat, protein and carbs.

The one positive of having a lot to lose is that I should have some time to get my head around it!

halfthesize · 11/01/2013 22:35

Timid they are that, glad yours popped on its own, mine was a bartholin cyst, according to my consultant it was very big.Shock like I didnt know that already.. Hope you start to get more sleep soon, however, am laughing to myself about them calling you ButtersWink

My PIL sorted the food tonight, brought me chips from the chippy, they were lovely, but I only had a handful so not too bad. Grin

BigStickBIWI · 11/01/2013 22:47

timid - honestly, don't worry about it! Just follow rules of Bootcamp and you will be fine.

The whole point of Bootcamp is that we don't count or weigh stuff. It's designed to be easy.

JessicaWakefield · 11/01/2013 22:59

MrsHP what sad news, I'm really sorry to hear that. Hugs to you and your pupils and colleagues and of course thinking of the boy's family, what a tragedy.

Half these are for you Thanks you get well soon lovely.

I read your post Sybil on the big thread and I could really empathise with it. I vividly remember a few years ago eating tonnes of doughnuts at work after someone left a box in the coffee room and then not wanting to go out to a dinner party that evening as I felt huge and sluggish. I can't believe the difference now. I really feel that BC isn't just about being slim it's also about happiness and confidence and putting to bed food demons, issues and anxieties. I never thought I could be so relaxed about eating Thanks BIWI AND ALL OF YOU!!

And lastly go go go Ewan's DS great news. And he didn't need late night soft play to get him there! Let us know how you get on tonight.

timidviper · 11/01/2013 23:00

half Mine was also a bartholin's cyst but fortunately did not get big or painful before popping, in fact it had never occurred to me that was a possibility. Ignorance is bliss!

I am just like Butters when I have had a coffee, watching me after one is apparently hilarious! Hmm Oddly I can drink vast quantities of tea or Diet Coke with no effect at all and yet one espresso and I'm jittery and yelping.

BIWI Thank heavens for that! I've had enough years of weighing food and calculating stuff!

My washing machine has just started making a terrible noise. Have found that DD has stuck her boyfriend's brother's solidified mud encrusted rugby kit from last Saturday in it. DH thinks the noise is coming from the pump. Don't know if mud could cause that but it sounds expensive.

WillieWaggledagger · 12/01/2013 07:19

Lol at butters from South Park!

I have a weekly battle with dp's rugby kit (actually three times a week as he trains twice, but training not so muddy usually). If it's really bad I make him dry it out dirty and brush off the worst if the mud before washing because otherwise it leaves silty residue in the washing machine thatbhe then has ti clean out! The thing I get REALLY cross about is grass not shaken off the kit properly, because then you get clean kit but also a machine full of clean grass!

EwanHoozami · 12/01/2013 10:08

Am laughing at clean grass. When I forget to check DS1's pockets I occasionally find a very dead (but very clean) snail in there after a wash.

So DH has bought home a couple of yellow fin tuna steaks as a treat (good lad) I'm very excited at the prospect but lacking in ideas of what to do with them..

I don't think I'm eating enough fat if we're supposed to have more fat than protein. I'll have to up my butter. Problem is, I have a thing about the texture of animal fat (unless it's nuked to crispiness) so have to rely on dairy a bit more than I'd like.

jan2013 · 12/01/2013 10:24

lol about the washing woes. dd has starting putting things in the washing machine...its a big toy for her now. i have to check it all the time i find all sorts in there, she tried to put a balloon in it during the week!

Ewan that was my thing too i am not into eating a lot of animal fat.... one thing we could do is put a table spoon of olive oil or another oil on a salad, that would up the fat. im still a bit scared of fat tbh!!!

Doshusallie · 12/01/2013 14:16

THe black stump was divine.

Luckily I cooked so we had chicken wrapped in cream cheese and pancetta, with broccolli and buttery leeks and mushrooms. BF then had chocolate, I did not.

How bizarre - I have just emptied my washing machine of 2 extremely clean school games kits and rather a lot of very clean grass Grin

halfthesize · 12/01/2013 14:22

Just out of interest Viper has it ever re occurred as was told its quite likely!!

Thanks for the Thanks jessica

Just had a lovely cooked brunch, DH brought me in bed, after he insisted i restGrin
