The Ongoing Low Carb Bootcamp - Final Festive Fortnight

No spreadsheet to link to this week, as the LBD challenge is now over!

I don't know about anyone else, but I have definitely not had the greatest of weeks, and I'm keeping on keeping on until we get to Christmas.

Not quite sure yet what my own Christmas strategy is going to be, but I also guess it depends on where I've got to with my weight by then. I know that, having achieved my first major target of losing 2 stones, I still have more to go. So my next really major, very psychological target, will be to reach 9 stone. Something I have been trying (and failing) to do for the last 10 years! But now it seems so much more achieveable, especially with all you lot giving such brilliant support.

This week for me starts with a super strict day today. I'm out to dinner tomorrow, with a groups of ex colleagues, and venue is not yet chosen, but is likely to be a Chinese, which always brings its own problems. not to mention the wine

I'm also out to lunch on Friday, so it looks like Wednesday and Thursday will also have to be super strict!

nappy - MFP is american too, so you have to subtract the fibre (or something) it's not something I can be faffed with.

Be careful using FitDay as it is a US website and they count carbs differently so it can be easy to get in a mess with them. They include fibre in their carb amounts and you have to deduct the fibre to get net carbs. In the UK the carb amounts are already net carbs and fibre is listed seperately. You would be better using a UK site like My Fitness Pal if you want to use a site like that.

Hello all, thanks for the support I feel much better today after a good nights sleep and I was down 2.5 lbs from last week so pretty happy with that. Perhaps there's something in that carb loading theory after all?! Wink

Just catching up with you all.

Well, am a pound down which is a miracle as since I had my afternoon tea fest with my DM I am PROWLING for sugar. I really need to get back in the zone. Why oh why did I feel the need to eat dark choc this afternoon. Sob. BIWI, send that stick my way. I deserve it.

Jan, sympathies with the bed avoiding toddler. Seems a lifetime ago for me now but remember it well.

Half, hope you are feeling better.

Thanks Ewan! BTW loved your post on the big thread about the government's continued championing of low fat eating. Couldn't agree with you more. I guess one of the problems as they see it is that if they completely changed their advice and said actually we're wrong and our guidelines have made you all fat then they'd worry the public might not believe any of their public health guidance. And also as you say there's far too much vested interest with the big food companies etc to change the tone of the advice. So short sighted as they'd save billions of public money if obesity rates declined.

Jessica moldies was a breakaway group of MNers who formed another invite-only chat forum causing all kinds of drama and bad feeling. It happened the very week I joined (Christmas about 4 years ago IIRC), so I thought this place was barking Grin

But our CQ wouldn't be a secret (just tucked away a bit) and isn't invite only, so surely no one could get the hump? I expect those from the current newbs thread who wanted to go long-term would eventually join us for a natter, right?

timid that sounds like what I get if I drink boozydrinks just before a period. Makes me feel plastered and whole chunks of evening can go, even on half a bottle of wine. I hardly ever drink any more but if I do, I always avoid PMT-time.

I don't want it to be another kind of moldies thing, but I like this little oasis where I can hide from that BIWI
