Week 4 - Little Black Dress Low Carb Bootcamp - where the going gets tough ...

Morning all!

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness

By now, you may be finding it tough going. The weight loss is nothing like it was in the first couple of weeks. In fact, you may even have seen the scales show a gain.

This is quite normal at this stage, as your body is shifting/has shifted into fat-burning mode, and you are now burning only fat. No more water loss. Long-term, sustainable weight loss is likely to settle at 1-2lbs per week.

By now, though, you should be more used to this WOE, and it should seem a more normal way to eat. Hopefully you've sorted out how to plan for times when you're out and about, and have a few strategies up your sleeve for the unexpected. And hopefully you are also better at knowing what does and doesn't work for you.

Here's to a good week to us all. Smile

Morning losers. I had weighed in before work and put 1lb on this week but with my drinking excess and poor food choices its no surprise. I have been to gym last 2 data to get back on track.

I had a big chat with my boss yesterday who was really positive and says she would support me in finding a new role. I don't really like change but in the current climate nothing is certain is it. She was lovely though and really cheered me up. DH however is another matter!

Jacaqueen · 23/10/2012 08:39

Just updating the spreadsheet. Stayed the same which is a relief after being away last week.

BigBroomstickBIWI · 23/10/2012 08:41

Sorry you're finding things tough at the moment, WineGless. Maybe we should try and organise a Bootcamp meet-up somewhere convenient for all of us, to have something to work hard for look forward to?

Anyone else interested?

You lot really know everything. Rose Elliot is good but Celia Brooks Brown whichis a masterpiece. I really rate it.

b. olives and a bit of cheese for breakfast (I know).

bucksmum · 23/10/2012 09:09

Prepared today for day of hospital visiting - ham, babybel, cucumber and large bottle of water! The ward is on 3rd floor so will walk up and down a few times to add in some exercise

MmeLindor · 23/10/2012 09:21

Morning.

I'll be back in a day or two but I seem to have caught a tummy bug and even the thought of food makes me Envy

BigBroomstickBIWI · 23/10/2012 09:38

Oh no! Take care. Plenty of fluids and rest.

Doshusallie · 23/10/2012 10:16

Hope you gran gets well soon bucks mum. 90, wow!!

Mme get well soon to you too!

On a train to that London again this morning. Quickly spoke to ds2's teacher this morning to see if his behaviour has improved at all, she said some good bits and some bad bits, which wasn't really what I wanted to hear Hmm. Oh well Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.

DTWLFM, 2 boiled eggs and some Greek yoghurt for breakfast, ate a bit more as no idea when lunch will be or what it will be!

Wine - sorry to hear your troubles with dh.....have you tried sitting down and telling him how you feel?

vnmum · 23/10/2012 10:59

BIWI I Would be up for a meet up, as long as it's not in London. I don't do London, it scares me Blush.

Done my kettlebell workout for the day. I am going to do the shred or jillians body revolution when I can't get to the gym when I start work. I can get up early and do those before work whereas the gym only opens at 9 which is no good for me most days and I can't workout at night as it keeps me awake.

Slow cooker beef curry for me tonight, yum.

winegless I'm glad things are looking more positive at work for you.
bucksmum Hope your grandma gets better soon
Mme Hope you are feeling better soon too. Whenever I get a tummy bug I always think of the weightloss it will invariably cause as a silver lining Smile

BigBroomstickBIWI · 23/10/2012 11:09

vnmum Shock! How can you be scared?! It's lovely here!

Whereabouts are you, roughly?

OP posts:
Doshusallie · 23/10/2012 11:19

Not very lovely today - grey and miz....mind you it is like that at home as well.....

WillieWaggledagger · 23/10/2012 11:20

I would def be up for a meet up but ONLY in London Wink

Not really (re the London bit)

Hope you feel better soon mme. I've found that the increased water on this woe helps with keeping your fluid intake up when you're ill as you're already use to sloshing!

All the best for your Grannie bucksmum, hope things improve and you look after yourself too

WillieWaggledagger · 23/10/2012 11:22

Yes I'm about to get the train in for a meeting too dosh and it's pretty grotty. My hair was LOVELY when I left the house and now looks awful

TheHumancatapult · 23/10/2012 11:39

Hmm would this woe work well as a maintenance plan ? As am now beginning to think ahead can finally see a end in sight ( that's through a telescope though yet Wink

Doshusallie · 23/10/2012 11:48

Don't ask me Catapult - I only have to LOOK at a glass bottle of red wine and I gain a pound or two.

AuntieMaggie · 23/10/2012 12:11

Pleased I'm not the only one who leaves home looking great but looks awful after getting the train (sorry willie) and I've just taken on work that will mean more travel... am i mad?

Off to the hospital this afternoon... hopefully they'll be pleased with my loss!

AuntieMaggie · 23/10/2012 12:21

Oh and I was 101kg this morning which is under the 16 stone mark :o

I want to get rid of an extra stone by xmas...

But today I have cravings for all sorts of crap... mainly carby stuff like fish and chips or chow mein... i think its psychological cos of the weigh in this afternoon. is there anything i can have which would help?

NewStartSameStory · 23/10/2012 12:39

London is not lovely it is horrible to drive in! total of 2hrs driving lost over the last few days

Just come back from comp wkend. Which was ok but catered and they have funny ideas about carbs so wasn't exactly friendly actually a complete nightmare. Did best I could with the strict meal setup but really the least said and sooner jumped back into strict mode the better. Had the first case of the shakes last night since started doing this. Really don't feel great either. Will weigh in tomo morning but I expect another gain. I am going to focus on the positive. This being that even when tempted with stuff I love, I was actually quite reluctant about going anywhere near a lot of it. Previously I who have fallen head first into the sweat stuff. This weekend i found myself wanting the food i normally eat at home. This is massive progress. And whatever the scales say tomo, I am happy. Rome wasn't built in a day and this is another building block!

BigBroomstickBIWI · 23/10/2012 12:40

Brilliant, AuntieMaggie! It's great when the scales start with a lower number, isn't it?

Can you get hold of some shirataki noodles and make some kind of stir fry with those?

TheHumanCatapult - absolutely this WOE can be a maintenance plan. Once you know what level of carbs your body can tolerate, that's when you've reached maintenance.

Ilovemyteddy · 23/10/2012 12:44

Marking my place. Teeny tiny weightloss last week due to a weekend away, but back on the straight and narrow now!

Would also love a meet-up. Am in the middle-ish of England so don't mind where it is Smile

halfthesize · 23/10/2012 12:47

Morning All

Weight STS, had mushroom omelette for lunch today. Not sure what to do for dinnerConfused

Mme hope you feel better soon.

A meet up sounds like a fab ideaGrin

TheHumancatapult · 23/10/2012 12:55

Ty BIWI

Will have to work that one out once there and increase them slowly

NotAgainAndAgain · 23/10/2012 12:58

Doshu as another idea for party meal I tried Nigellissima. I find it easier to see once how it is done than read and guess in blanks. Her "Tomatoes, Mozarella& basil, My Way" simple and flashy www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-2199780/Nigellissima-Tomatoes-mozzarella-amp-basil-way.html

For the main her "Buttefly lamb" was also simple and delish. For sides I did her "baby aubergines oregano, onions", bar I used just normal aubergines, sliced - no difference in taste I would say and went well even with fussy boots boys. Although i did put some roast potatoes for traditionalists- since I am free from craving, that was easy for me.

NotAgainAndAgain · 23/10/2012 13:02

I keep forgetting drinking :-(
