Here is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness for you to record your weight tomorrow

hurrah for vnmum!

PrincessSparkle86 · 11/10/2012 10:19

Morning ladies Smile

Another day of unplanned food as i shall shortly be going wedding dress shopping for my friend again!

And... We are going to (hopefully) book our own wedding venue tomorrow afternoon! Wooos!

vnmum congratulations on the job Grin

cathyandclaire · 11/10/2012 10:20

Well done Vnum fantastic news Grin

WineGless · 11/10/2012 10:27

Vnmum wow! That's brilliant news.

We had every confidence in you!!

BigBroomstickBIWI · 11/10/2012 10:29

Thanks vnmum! Brilliant news!

dotty and Puffle - sorry to hear you're getting downhearted. But. Do you feel OK? Are you enjoying your food? If so, why stop low carbing? dotty - are you drinking enough water and eating enough fat? How about taking some exercise as well (sorry - can't remember if you're an exerciser or not)

Oh - and Puffle - read the Bootcamp rules and look at the list of allowed veg - sweetcorn is one of the worst veg you could possibly have chosen!

Doshusallie - STEP AWAY FROM THE WINE ON BOOTCAMP! Seriously. If you really, really want to lose that weight you are going to have to do it.

PLEASE PEOPLE. BOOTCAMP IS HARD FOR A REASON. AND THAT REASON IS CALLED YOUR WEIGHT - OR MORE ACCURATELY, YOUR WEIGHT LOSS!

I can shout at you as much as I/you like or wave my big stick around with gay abandon - but it is all to no avail if you don't keep up your end of the bargain. It's simple. Follow the rules and you will lose weight. Cheat and you won't.

Doshusallie · 11/10/2012 10:29

OMIGOD VNMUM!!!!! that's totally amazeballs, really happy for you, well done! Congratulations! Grin

Doshusallie · 11/10/2012 10:31

I will BIWI - no wine for me now. I can't promise the same for gin - which doesn't seem to stall me as much. But will really try.

Am delighted to report that I can drink black coffee! Yay!

HumphreyCobbler · 11/10/2012 10:33

WELL DONE VNMUM Grin

dotty2 · 11/10/2012 10:36

Well done vnmum - what a star.

Thanks, BIWI - I'm feeling OK, not totally great. Just really fancy the odd handul of nuts, the occasional drink. And the rest. It's just discouraging, that's all. But I will persevere and maybe think about trying to give up dairy - I may have been overdoing the cheese. Nothing dairy free in the house for lunch though, unless I just have spinach salad with cold meat. Wouldn't be too bad, I suppose. I exercise 3 -4 times a week, and really can't face doing more than that. Over the years my weight has gone up and down, and I've tried lots of different approaches. But I have never - since I was a teenager - managed to get below 12 stone. (I'm 5'9 and 12 4 at the moment). I know I must look loads better, and be much healthier than when I was over 14 stone at my heaviest, but I would just love to break that 12 stone barrier. (Not thinking past that at the moment - too daunting)

dotty2 · 11/10/2012 10:37

PS - another one who has managed to convert to black coffee!

TheHumancatapult · 11/10/2012 10:40

Hmm question will a diet coke or pepsi max knock me put of ketosis . Was planning treat myself to one on Sunday but not if it blows it ( not boot camping but LC and you ladies seem full of knowledge . Well I can't bribe with biscuits so thought I better butter you all up Wink

BigBroomstickBIWI · 11/10/2012 10:40

Gin is less likely to impact weight as it is carb-free, unlike wine.

OP posts:
BigBroomstickBIWI · 11/10/2012 10:41

It's a controversial area. Some would say it shouldn't, as it doesn't contain sugar, but others say that the body responds to the sweetness as if it was sugar - i.e. it will provoke a release of insulin.

personally I wouldn't ...

cathyandclaire · 11/10/2012 10:41

Can I say thank-you to whoever suggested the mini-frittatas (sorry, the thread is soooooolong now it's difficult to find old posts!) I adapted them with some left over sausages (low carb of course Wink) and mushrooms and made a small batch of breakfast frittatas that are ready in the for when I'm in a rush
can't be arsed to make a proper breakfast
Delicious!
L: salad with some sort of mayo/tuna/celery combo
S: Trying Nigella's meatza, sounds like it could be a bit dry and tasteless but going to give it a go (any tips on low carb adaptation welcome!)

DIYapprentice · 11/10/2012 10:43

vnmum - Have a look at the Atkins recipe books, there are some great low carb pudding, cakes and biscuits that use soy flour that you can be used on the Ongoing Weight Loss phase of Atkins, they might be a nice treat for your DC now. I think allowing small treats but choosing them wisely ? and getting your DC to help you choose ? might be better. The feeling of ?missing out? could well make things difficult for them. My niece, who is coeliac, is being a rebellious teenager and is now gorging on wheat, and will make herself very ill if she doesn?t stop but is too old to be ?made? to stop. But she was never taught to make the choices, they were all made for her. She was also never taught how to make the food part of a normal diet either, she couldn?t eat normally with other people and always had to have her own special food.

Oh and congratulations!!!!

Those who have said their scales give them slightly different readings, mine started to do that over the last few days, I popped in a new battery and they?ve stopped. So please change your batteries!!!

B: soya yoghurt with protein shake. (Breakfast on the run I?m afraid! Otherwise I wouldn?t have eaten anything at all.)
Snack: - cauliflour soup/dip with some veggies

NewStartSameStory · 11/10/2012 10:53

Well done VNmum!!

Ds is despatched to school with flee in ear about not going to sleep when put to bed. Being tired as a result is no reason to be off school imo. And the cold will not kill him.

It has taken me nearly two hours to eat breakfast Blush but I have done it. I am having a slightly higher intake of coffee today as I have to get paperwork done and my brain really has no wish to function otherwise. Nice strong painkillers. I am surrounded by hot water bottles and ice packs and curled up in bed to do said paperwork.

Biwi I think I am in better place to accept no weight change then some as the weight isn't my motivator it is an added bonus. My motivator is my fucked up relationship with food and eating. And any steps in the right direction for me is progress. Although if i see a bit of change in shape this week it will be nice. I am also prepared to put on a bit of weight - the amount of damage I have done to muscles has been high this week, plus there is significant swelling around several ares of injury, and I know I haven't been drinking enough water. Plus there was a few cheats sunday/monday. Lessons learn the hard way though. They didn't make me feel better. Will have to see what monday brings. But the scales atm say that I have gained. Not happy but not surprised iyswim.

TheHumancatapult · 11/10/2012 10:53

Thank you BIWI

Won't risk it then will stick to my water and black coffee

shineonucrazydiamond · 11/10/2012 10:58

Hey fellow fat fighters!

Question for BIWI....

I am currently 9 stone 4 and would like to be 9 stone. Do you think low carbing could knock off these last few lbs and if so, would it take forever? Also a vegetarian to make it more tricky...

Thanks!

EwanHoozami · 11/10/2012 11:12

Woohoo - really happy for you, vnmum Grin

B: scrambled eggs
L: cold chicken and avocado salad with dollop of mayo
D: Beef Rendang, just gone in the slow cooker with green beans and cauli rice

I've really noticed the PMT bloat this month. Maybe it's because I have less blubber to cover it, who knows

whoever said that LCing helps with PMT symptoms - I wish it worked for me, I'm in a proper shitty mood. Might have to quarantine myself until I'm less of a grumpy cow.

vnmum · 11/10/2012 11:16

Thanks everyone. Think i might celebrate with a brew and a peice of 85% choc. Do you think BIWI will let me? Smile

newstart i have the same with DS. He will mess about after bedtime then complain he is tired and get grumpy. He is an early riser too which doesn't help things.

Doshusallie · 11/10/2012 11:18

That is music to my (alkie) ears Biwi!! Grin

Shine - I bloody hope so becuase that is what I am trying to do! It will take a bit longer than if you were obese for egs and looking to shift 4 pounds. But if you are strict (unlike me) you should see a pound a week come off I would have thought.

shineonucrazydiamond · 11/10/2012 11:20

Hello dosh

I can do strict! I currently calorie count and that works but it is s l o w...

NewStartSameStory · 11/10/2012 11:21

Shiney - you have been doing a restricted calories thing haven't you serial lurker so I would say you would need to be careful about the change over as the calories involved with this would be a huge change. But I don't see why not. Although you might find like some of the others it is going to take getting shot of the dairy. Good luck.

shineonucrazydiamond · 11/10/2012 11:35

Hi new Start! Yes, I did a VLCD and came off it about 6 weeks ago or so. I have continued to lose weight and have stabilised at around 9 st 3 or 4. I'd love to actually hit my ultimate target of 9 st... but it's so so hard! I'm having to really watch what I eat - 1200 calories a day maintains me - and I'm aware that this is a low cal diet for a lot!

Just mused whether low carbing might help. I would say that i moderately carb at the moment and never eat pasta/potatoes or bread. Well - very rarely!

Thanks!!

halfthesize · 11/10/2012 11:35
