Here is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness for you to record your weight tomorrow

I can't believe you put these near me - yum Grin

MsRinky · 09/10/2012 20:52

I made a dozen mini frittatas with veggies and chorizo in my silicone mini-muffin tray. Had two for breakfast, yummy. Ham, avocado and salad for lunch, jerk chicken with spring cabbage and celery coleslaw for dinner. Then I wasn't really hungry but ate half a greek yoghurt with vanilla powder because my jerk chicken was a bit pokey and I needed dairy to stop the burning...

Viperidae · 09/10/2012 21:03

BIWI I'm so glad you've just shouted about not eating enough as I was getting worried I was pigging out too much!

Today I have had:
B: 1 rasher bacon, 1 lc sausage, 2 rggs scrambled with a splash of cream, cup of tea
L: 3 small chicken kebab thingies, salad, mayo
T: Bee's chilli bake from IPD cookbook (I know it has ground almonds in but I only used 100g between 4 servings and it is DH's birthday so had to cook something nice!) and green beans

I need to find a way to eat more veg but I don't really like it.

WillieWaggledagger · 09/10/2012 21:09

I'm the 8th hurricane. Those brownies look lovely, will have to bookmark them

WillieWaggledagger · 09/10/2012 21:11

Msrinky I had forgotten the amazingness of mini frittatas in muffin pans... That's what we'll have tomorrow I think

WineGless · 09/10/2012 21:17

Muffin in a Minute

30g ground flaxseed (linseed)
1/2tsp baking powder (or 1/4 tsp each of bicarbonate of soda and cream of tartar)
1-2 tsp sugar equivalent of sweetener
flavouring of your choice e.g. cinnamon, ginger, cocoa etc
5g butter
1 egg

  1. Melt the butter in the microwave for 30 seconds
  2. Mix all of the dry ingredients well in a cup
  3. Beat the egg into the butter and then mix with the dry ingredients
  4. Microwave on full for 60 seconds
  5. Cut in half and slather with butter/philadelphia/clotted cream etc

Have to say I haven't tried them but some people like them. Got to be worth a go if you are struggling with breakfasts

vnmum. Well done you! See, you never lose it Wink

Manage to duck out of any responsibility at PTA meeting but gave full support

B:Greek yoghurt
L:cauliflower cheese and mangetout
D: left over green beans Provençal with dollop of bolognaise sauce on

hurricanewyn · 09/10/2012 21:19

My sister's the 8th Willie - obviously a good time of year!
I'm the same - would normally use my birthday as an excuse to go mad, but I'm determined not to be derailed this time. It's just too easy to justify it to myself and before you know it, I'm back where I started. I am planning on a carby Christmas day though - but that'll be after the 10 week bootcamp, so I'm allowing myself that Grin

WineGless · 09/10/2012 21:19

Willie Shock you are ver naughty and you know she'll be along in a minute to shout at you!!
If I make something which needs sugar then my replacement is Stevia which at least is a natural product rather than Splenda or other artificial sweeteners. You need to use about a third of the quantity though as very sweet

MrsHerculePoirot · 09/10/2012 21:21

When will you hear vnmum?

msrinky I need that recipe for mini frittatas!!!

DIYapprentice · 09/10/2012 21:37

BIWI - Yoghurt protein shake mix is 5.7 grams of carb. Tuna cakes have peppers, shallots, egg whites and mayonnaise in them, was quite a large meal, actually, with loads of tuna cakes.

The cauliflour soup was home made, with freshly made chicken stock which was very rich, and had used loads of veg while making the stock.

(Oh and a packet of pork scratchings while DH nibbled on a toblerone bar...)

I just couldn't face another lettuce leaf I'm afraid!!! Blush

Veg I can do, but I can only face salads a couple of times a week and I've had a few lettuce wrapped meals this week and just didn't want anymore.

I just don't feel as hungy while downing all this water!

MsRinky · 09/10/2012 21:39

It's not so much a recipe...

Fry up whatever veggies are lurking in the fridge. Today was leek, mushroom and some leftover cubes of butternut squash. Some pork is good - chorizo, bacon, ham, or cheese if you haven't got any salty meaty goodness. Divide between muffin pans. Depending on how much room there appears to be left, beat 4-6 eggs with herbs and salt & pepper. Pour over veggies. Bake about 15-20 minutes at 180ish. Eat hot, warm or cold (flavour will be a bit dull if they are fridge-cold).

Poppy1234 · 09/10/2012 21:45

I think vegetables may be my new favourite thing. I slow braised fennel tonight in butter and chicken stock (I had intended to use the same method as the cabbage but left the cream out as I think I am a bit too keen on the dairy). It was out of this world gorgeous.

My other discovery was sautéed swede, cubed, steamed and then fried, could be addictive.

I just seem to be eating so much that it seems impossible to see this as a diet (hopefully the scales will reflect it really is).

MrsHerculePoirot · 09/10/2012 21:45

Yes it is! That sounds delish...

MrsHerculePoirot · 09/10/2012 21:46

Thank you btw - where are my manners!!

vnmum · 09/10/2012 21:47

Yes Mrs Rinky I need that recipe too.

MrsH They said they had someone else to see and will let me know either way in a few days so I would hope to know by friday at the latest. I have a good feeling but don't want to get my hopes up too much incase they are spectacularly dashed.

vnmum · 09/10/2012 21:50

ooh thanks mrsRinky. They sound really easy and something my DC might eat too.

BigBroomstickBIWI · 09/10/2012 21:52

foosty - sorry you're not feeling great. If you're ill, this could be why you haven't seen a loss. Don't fret - keep on keeping on. Hopefully you will feel better soon, and the scales will be kind to you.

Looking at your menu for today, I would say it looks like there's not much protein there and not much fat - proportionately could be relatively carby. How many carbs were in those sausages?

Try using shallots in place of onions as they are lower carb.

MegTheCat · 09/10/2012 22:23

B smoked salmon and broccoli crustless quiche, coffee with cream
L chicken salad with mayonnaise
D stir fry - left over roast pork with green beans, sprouting broccoli, mushrooms, spring onion, sesame oil
Snacks decaf coffee with cream, kale crisps straight from the oven.
All very, very yum

bucksmum · 09/10/2012 22:48

B - Egg and Bacon
L - Ham, Brie, Rocket & Coleslaw
D - Pork fillet, Broccolli, Leeks, Cabbage and cheese sauce

Bed now so I don't eat anything else!

cartblanche · 09/10/2012 22:57

Oh bugger.

B: slice of toast and a cup of normal tea (followed by an hour of badminton)
L: 4 scrambled eggs, full fat philly and 50g smoked salmon
Sn. 2 x decaf cappucinos and 10 g 85% choc
d: none - but snaffled a slice of ham, a further 10g choc (85%) and at 10pm 2 glasses of Cava and a glass of redwine, followed by a slice of wholemeal bread, philly and slice of salmon

Writing it down so I know why I haven't lost weight at my next weigh-in!

Will try harder tomorrow (have a lovely celeriac dauphinoise to polish off that I had with haddock and spinach gratin yesterday)

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 09/10/2012 22:58

Thanks for the nice comments on my earlier post today.

Way to go VNMum!!

B omelette of 2 eggs, mushrooms, a little grated cheese on top
L covered a whole plate with salad, then topped with picky bits of leftover cold roast chicken (from last nights D), feta, cucumber, olive oil and some egg mayo on the side (ok and one beet root couldn't resist)
D 3 of 97% pork sausages with roasted veg (lots of courgette, leeks, broccoli, with one red pepper and one red onion, was shared with DH so half of each for me)

Once my current stock of red onions are used up, I will switch to shallots.

Couple of temptations coming up, coffee tomorrow with friends so shall dodge the scones, and a work lunch meeting on Thursday. It's being held at a dodgy carvery type place so hoping I can have (overcooked) meat n (soggy beige) veg only. Am I allowed gravy to make carvery meat edible???

ForSaletotheHighestBidder · 10/10/2012 00:06

B-bacon and eggs
L-chicken salad with lettuce, olives, cucumber, tomato, Caesar dressing
D-leftover plaice and spinach bake with cheese sauce from last night, recipe on recipe thread.
Lots of water, coffee, couple of bites of dc's chicken goujons.
Really not hungry at all between meals, its great!

sybilfaulty · 10/10/2012 07:00

Just having a quick cuppa before I take the kids to breakfast vlub and drive to work. Loooooooooooong day today with so much to do. Don't finish til 8.30pm so will be falling into whatever DH cooks. Am going to take chops out of freezer if I remember.
