We managed to fill the thread before the end of the week, so I'm starting the next one.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness for you to record your weight tomorrow

Fingers crossed vnmum!

Hurricane I'm watching an old episode of nigella bites and she just did a flourless choc cake (makes note for birthday next month...) I think her recipes are pretty adaptable for low carbing because she's indulgent with fats.

Doshusallie · 09/10/2012 20:09

My cauliflower soup had not defrosted so have had a very unsatisfactory salad with coleslaw and tinned salmon for tea.

And a glass of wine. Just one. Sorry. [hangs head] Sad

1 chunk of cheese for a snack when I got home.

BigBroomstickBIWI · 09/10/2012 20:13

LRD - the rule of thumb is that if you are hungry, you must eat! Obviously it needs to be low carb.

If you're finding yourself hungry like this continually, then you aren't eating enough - or (probably quite likely) you're not eating enough fat. Also, try drinking some water. Often our bodies mistake thirst for hunger.

BigBroomstickBIWI · 09/10/2012 20:14

Doshusallie - it's only Tuesday! Why are you drinking wine at all? Never mind 'only one glass'!

OP posts:
LRDtheFeministDragon · 09/10/2012 20:14

Thanks! I will up the fat/water intake. Smile

CackleMeIAmYours · 09/10/2012 20:15

Yay for VNmum !

I've been 'good' today, but have been badly craving carbs all day long. It is entirely my own fault for cheating at the weekend and I can definitely say that it wasn't worth it Sad

I didn't have time to make lunch to take to work today to had to traipse to Tesco in the pissing rain - I saw it as my punishment for being so slack over the weekend.

B - 2 fried eggs
L - pack of garlic & parsley prawns
D - 2 x homemade burgers with cheese.

I also had a cup of tea with milk and sweetener Blush but to be honest, it was either that or toast so I thought it the lesser of the two evils.

Not the happiest of campers today, but was a lb down on the scales this morning

BigBroomstickBIWI · 09/10/2012 20:15

vnmum - very, very good luck. Keeping it all crossed here. One thing I learnt when my DC were little - childcare issues do have a way of sorting themselves out, so there's no pint over-stressing about them.

OP posts:
NotAgainAndAgain · 09/10/2012 20:15

BIWI gotcha, no more cottage cheese/cream in sauce/dips. I have just stocked up the fridge today. Oh well, feed my DC, no chance for Cottage cheese though Grin.
WineGlass what is "mim"?
Doshu see!

Doshusallie · 09/10/2012 20:21

I know. Poured the last inch away. Am rubbish. Too much booze (and cheese) in the house after the weekend. Am going to bed now to stop myself having anything else today except water.

MmeLindor · 09/10/2012 20:25

Keeping fingers crossed for you, Vmum.

I haven't lost any weight for a few days, but haven't been drinking enough I think. Would really like to have lost a bit before I go to PILs on Thursday.

caramelwaffle · 09/10/2012 20:31

Good evening everyone.

I so, so, soooo wanted a glass of my favourite cocktail tonight but by god, I resisted because see Yes ^^ Big Stick. Having really strong, alternating cravings for things sweet, or salty.

Am dying on my feet and am going to bed now. Being back in the gym is satisfying but knackering.

Breakfast - goats milk yoghurt
Lunch - Olives, crabmeat and chillis with oil
Snack - A small handful pork scratchings
Dinner - home cooked chicken drumsticks with homemade pureed tomato, vegetable and butter sauce. A few spoons of yogurt for dessert. (Quite a few carbs in this meal due to the tinned, chopped tomatoes so only had a smallish amount of the sauce) Tasted fabulous.

Have block booked gym sessions so cannot back out.

Am going to try and drink one more litre before I nod off.

So is it only one or two people taking progress pictures?

caramelwaffle · 09/10/2012 20:34

Drinking lots of water is difficult MmeL.

I prefer fizzy, or herbal/fruit tea.

Some people have said drinking from 4x 750ml bottles makes it easier to break it up each day.

BigBroomstickBIWI · 09/10/2012 20:35

caramel - you are another one who isn't eating enough veg/salad! And why that teeny tiny lunch?

OP posts:
caramelwaffle · 09/10/2012 20:38

I was too lazy and tired to cook Blush

BigBroomstickBIWI · 09/10/2012 20:39

PEOPLE - PLEASE - THIS IS NOT A DIET WHERE WE NEED TO RESTRICT WHAT WE ARE EATING, LIKE WHEN YOU'RE COUNTING CALORIES OR CUTTING DOWN ON FAT!

Lots of you seem to be eating hardly anything, or not eating enough veg/salad. It's important that you eat properly, so that you get the right nutrients. It's not just about cutting carbs down. We're looking to start eating more healthily, and getting our carbs in proportion.

Cutting down on food, cutting out veg/salad will not make you lose weight any more quickly. You run the risk of ending up hungry, which will mean that you start to snack more - which will lead to temptation and, before you know it, you will have reached for the nuts or the crisps.

Please, please, please make sure that you are eating proper meals, with your carbs going on vegetables and salad rather than other things.

halfthesize · 09/10/2012 20:40

Homemade pork scratchings are scrummyGrin

caramelwaffle · 09/10/2012 20:42

I did however when I got back in to do the evening meal - which really I only did because MiniWaffle needs feeding. I have lots of vegetable in the freezer and lots of fresh bell peppers and onions, however those are a bit carb heavy for this week.

caramelwaffle · 09/10/2012 20:43

Oops x-post

Collywibbles · 09/10/2012 20:43

Here here BIWI. I struggle with eating enough because I am just not hungry, BUT I have made a real effort this last week and the weight loss started moving again. I have also added some more veg other than cucumber and cauli mash. I am just not interested in food so find it hard but needs must ....

foosty · 09/10/2012 20:44

I'm getting a bit fed up. I still have a cold that's been with me since Friday now. I haven't stopped LCing though, despite being desperate for things like fresh orange juice and porridge. Drinking loads of water too, and have cut right back on dairy - putting lacto-free milk in my tea, which is fine actually.

But, I haven't lost anything. Not one single pound. Haven't gained either, which is ok, but I'm pissed off. I can keep going with this, but I'm wondering if it's worth it, for me. I know it's working for just about all of you, so I wonder if I'm doing something drastically wrong (I really don't think so, though) or if LCing just doesn't suit me and my body.

I bought the virtual gastric band hypnosis thing. It 'trains' you, I suppose, to eat healthily but have far smaller portions - to recognise when you're full etc. I think that even with LCing I till eat too much - I think to myself that I can have what I want and don't watch what I'm putting on my plate, portion-control wise. So since I started I have found that I have been eating less, leaving food on my plate, being more aware. Hope it helps. If I haven't lost anything by next weigh-in, I think I'll be looking at giving up Sad.

today:
B - 2 eggs scrambled with butter
L - made a bacon and cabbage soup, with stock, peppers, onions and mushrooms
D - 2 veggie sausages (LC) and brocolli with LC cheese sauce (yes, I know that's dairy! Just craved it...)

Loads of water. Not hungry at all. Circuits in the morning although I doubt I'll go if I still feel crappy with the cold.

Sorry for being so moany, and genuine well dones to all of you who are losing!

CackleMeIAmYours · 09/10/2012 20:45

Point taken BIWI

I think today was a classic 'Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail' day for me. In too much of a hurry to have proper breakfast/make sensible packed lunch, then overwhelmed by Tesco express and its carb-fest lunch product offering.

I did have some iceberg lettuce with my burgers though, which were huuuge.

Will try harder tomorrow (please be nice to me today feeling a bit fragile)

hurricanewyn · 09/10/2012 20:47

Ooh willie - that sounds great. I was going to try & make [http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/02/salted-caramel-flax-brownies-low-carb.html?m=1 these]] Don't look princess Grin but that sounds better, as it probably doesn't involve trying to track down sugarfree caramel sauce.

It's my birthday on the 1st - when's yours?

hurricanewyn · 09/10/2012 20:48

Crap - [http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/02/salted-caramel-flax-brownies-low-carb.html?m=1these]

caramelwaffle · 09/10/2012 20:48

(Cough) I shall change my meal plan for tomorrow.

Not that there was a plan, however more veg. it is!

hurricanewyn · 09/10/2012 20:49

I give up - I obviously cannot do links! Grr
