That's good news VNmun - well done.

Doshusallie · 09/10/2012 16:32

Excited for you VNMum! Fingers crossed for you. Well done.

Boobz · 09/10/2012 17:11

Well done on interview vnmum - fingers crossed indeed. Just looked at your pics - I have taken almost the exact same poses! You can really see the difference - well done! I think the last shot really shows how your bum has lifted! My bum needs a good lift.

I will post my before and after shots after have done P90X. Hoping to start Monday (will have been Zoning for 2 weeks by then, so hopefully my body will be used to working out on low carbs before I start).

SpeckleDust · 09/10/2012 17:52

I've changed my start date to yesterday as last week and weekend were terrible carb-wise. I knew I was going to be tempted by some carbs last weekend (went away for the weekend with a group of friends) but hadn't envisaged quite how bad it would be.

Had a reasonably good day today but just getting through my 'danger' time - cooking kids dinner, always tempted to snack on all the wrong things.

B: a bit of coleslaw wrapped in 2 slices of thin ham (surprisingly nice!)
L: massive salad with avocado and gammon, white wine/olive oil dressing, coleslaw
D: will be pork stroganoff with cauli rice
Snack: bit of gammon and coleslaw, 3 slices of fried salami (salami crisps?), can of diet coke Blush
Quite a lot of water

Exercise: Walking to school and back (2.5 miles) followed by 45min step class.

MmeLindor · 09/10/2012 18:26

At our favourite Italian restaurant eating cesar salad instead of my normal pasta or pizza. Not sure of dressing carb count but reckoned it would be lower than pasta.

Only had a sip of DH's wine

LRDtheFeministDragon · 09/10/2012 18:29

Ooh, that sounds very positive vnmum, fingers crossed for you!

I have a question: when we say 'three meals a day' ... I, ah, may be edging towards four today. Blush

I have had:

B - yoghurt and black coffee
Snack - coffee with milk Blush
L - omlette with ham, mozarella and peppers
Snack - Pret crayfish and avocado salad (no dressing)
Snack - tea with milk Blush

And I was planning to eat dinner and have chicken thighs in yoghurt spice marinade.

At what point does it become too much?

I am cross with myself about the milk, but DH was off work today, and I lose resolution when he's around bringing me cups of stuff!

NotAgainAndAgain · 09/10/2012 18:32

butterfly and WineGlass* thank you for support, I am deflated by no loss.
My pre-BC breakfast was pain au chololat and coffee.
In Week 1 I had cottage cheese, eggs, scramble eggs with mushrooms, poached eggs with salmon, omelette with tomatoes.

Doshusallie · 09/10/2012 18:37

Notagain - chin up, you will get there! (and what's that accent....?)

NotAgainAndAgain · 09/10/2012 18:39

Monday
B: cottage cheese and cup of coffee
L: Pork belly leftover and 4 gherkins
D: Melanzane parmegiana (half way oven time, just was not hungry, so as soon as cheese melted - had it. No fun).
Snack - celery+ sour cream dip.
Tuesday:
B: cottage cheese 150 g, coffee
L: Chicken breast, mushroom sauce, 5 radishes with sour cream-chilves dip.
D: LC Sausages with green Caesar Vegetables with butter (some sort of meddly)
Snack: radishes with guacamole

vnmum · 09/10/2012 18:39

Thanks boobz, I am planning on putting more up after bootcamp when I reach my goal weight. If I get the job I will have to try and plan how to fit enough exercise in to make sure I stay toned.

NotAgainAndAgain · 09/10/2012 18:44

doshu what would you say it sounds like?Wink it's pretty obvious, I know, so no one can ever get it wrong Grin which is good.

PrincessSparkle86 · 09/10/2012 18:49

PrincessSparkle86 · 09/10/2012 18:51

WineGless · 09/10/2012 18:53

Notagain, I haven't tried them but have you thought about those mim? Rushing out to PTA thing now but will link later if you can't find.

AuntieMaggie · 09/10/2012 18:53

:(

Yesterday was ok until I got to the hotel and there were no low carb options...

Bfast: protein shake
Lunch: cheese and bacon
Dinner: veg stirfry

Today again was ok or would've been if not for hotels/trains...

Bfast: yogurt and berries (I tried bacon eggs and mushrooms but they were gross)

Lunch: haddock in cheese sauce with broccoli and coleslaw

Dinner: 3 babybel and 3 port salut cheese and half a bag of quavers as I needed something else to go with the cheese I nicked as I am stuck on a train and won't be home til at least 9 cos I missed the train I.was supposed to get and I need to take my metformin with food!

Tomorrow will be better as I'm back in the office!

Doshusallie · 09/10/2012 19:17

Notagain I'm going to say French.....

DIYapprentice · 09/10/2012 19:23

Today I suddenly feel as though I've lost weight. Weird feeling....

B: soya yoghurt with a scoop of protein shake powder
L: homemade tuna cakes
D: cauliflower soup (I think, might add something else to it)

BigBroomstickBIWI · 09/10/2012 19:25

Notagain - a couple of things - you're eating a fair bit of dairy. Try cutting that back/out. For many people dairy can impede weight loss.

And also, it looks like you're just not eating enough! You're not eating many vegetables, and it sounds like your portions might be quite small as well.

This WOE is not about deprivation. You need to eat properly here.

Eve All

Well done on the interview vnmum got fingers crossed for you.

princess I love wedding dress shopping, glad you had fun.

Im just making pork scratchings and celeriac crisps.

Breakfast - omelette
Lunch - burger & salad
Dinner - Roasted belly of pork with leeks in cheese sauceGrin

BigBroomstickBIWI · 09/10/2012 19:37

DIYapprentice

You too! You're not eating enough there - and do you know how many carbs are in your protein shake/yoghurt?

Where are your veg? I know you're having cauliflower soup, but where are the other veg?

You must get your carbs mainly from veg/salad, and you need to eat more than you are doing.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 09/10/2012 19:38

BIWI, am I eating too much if I have four small meals/three and a big snack (which is what I've had today).

I am motivated anew after the slender young lass on the bus today offered me her seat. Sad

I do not look pregnant but perhaps the big cosy belted coat was a mistake.

BigBroomstickBIWI · 09/10/2012 19:39

Today:

B - 2 boiled eggs
L - ham, pastrami, beef + cheddar, edam cheese, small amount of salad (place where I was working had obviously used a manufactured dressing that was very sweet, so I didn't eat much of it)
D - roast chicken, red cabbage with onion and raspberry vinegar stewed in butter, celeriac and shallot baked in chicken stock with cheese on top, spinach in butter

Went to the gym after work and did an hour's workout

Drinks - 1 Berocca, 3 coffees, so far one litre water - will be at least two by the end of the evening

OP posts:
hurricanewyn · 09/10/2012 19:39

That sounds positive vnmum - hopefully you'll get good news in a few days.

Been good as gold today, no snackage or slips at all (truth be told, I can't go shopping before next Monday so that makes it much easier to be good Grin).

B - Made Nigella's 'eggs in purgatory' (without cheese). Can thoroughly recommend, really tasty Smile
L - Tuna Mayo
D - Shepherds Pie with swede mash

AuntieMaggie · 09/10/2012 19:57

I drank all my water though :o

MrsHerculePoirot · 09/10/2012 19:59

Well done everyone on being good.

B - three rashers of bacon
no lunch but snacks of boursin, pepperami, chicken and pork scratchings
D - rib steak, roasted veg and massives of salad to make up for lack of anything vaguely sensible earlier in the day as I was very disorganised.

I am hoping to make some soup tonight again, I have some veg to use up (leeks and some roasted veg I should think) which will be lunch tomorrow.

I have just noticed that my veg box has green kale on it on Thursday and the recipe that was linked to it was for seaweed style kale (like the kale crisps that someone else suggested) so I am looking forward to that!
