We managed to fill the thread before the end of the week, so I'm starting the next one.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness for you to record your weight tomorrow

OP posts:

I don't know how others do it, butterflies but I heat cream & mix in philly & grated cheddar.

Good luck tomorrow vnmum - I'm sure you'll be fine though.

I've just finished dinner & am stuffed. Quite an eaty day today. DH is poorly & off work - think he's a bad influence.

B - cucumber slices & cream cheese
L - Roast chicken
D - Steak (I made like the way Nigella did, with the steak resting in olive oil, vinegar, chilli & oregano after cooking) - it was ok, nothing special though. Had it with celeriac, garlic mushrooms & the braised cabbage someone posted earlier. I wasn't too keen on the cabbage but DH loved it, said he'd like it again but perhaps with caraway seeds next time.

I didn't weigh anything, so that lot was probably quite carby (in a low carb way Grin)

Boobz · 08/10/2012 19:18

Sorry - I did say I was doing the Zone diet when I asked if I could join... On the Zone you are allowed a certain amount of blocks of protein, fat and carbs. I am a small woman so I get the smallest amount possible: 2 blocks of each, 5 times a day (so as to keep blood sugar level stable). The Zone doesn't ban any carb but there are "favourable" ones and "unfavourable" ones. And obviously I'm not allowed much of them (almost nothing).

I have lost 3.6lbs so I definitely think it's working!

But shall not mention toast like ingredients again - I don't want anyone fainting on my watch.

butterflyexperience · 08/10/2012 19:24

Thank you princess!
I am now thinking that I need somthing creamy with my dinners, as when I think about it I go all "hmmmm" in my head.
Have some chicken for tomorrow nights dinner will try making chicken alfrado...

Dont think I need more vegies, I need more fat!

PrincessSparkle86 · 08/10/2012 19:27

No problem butterfly enjoy Wink
Another idea for you...how about creamy mushrooms? or you could try your own peppercorn sauce with a steak?!

butterflyexperience · 08/10/2012 19:28

Peppercorn steak sounds lush...yum...

I think this is what I was missing, just couldnt get excited or satisfied with dinners, hopefully this will make all the difference.
I'm also planning on making homemade burgers later this week

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 08/10/2012 19:32

Hi all,

Am 7lbs down.

Very chuffed. Thanks to BIWI for correcting my rather too many tomatoes diet after 3 days and helping me. Also thanks to all who have posted on the recipe thread, have been very "basic" this week but am looking forward to trying some this week.

Good luck VNMum!!

Bless you willie that was brave, real, and truthful. Not just a spreadsheet genius .....

Well done to all. Looking forward to week 2.

Viperidae · 08/10/2012 19:35

Willie Great post, it is good for those of us in the monster BMI ranges to know that someone has been there and is succeeding. As you said it is daunting when you have many stones to lose and your perception is that everybody else is stressing about small amounts.

vnmum Your post about WW and SW is so true. I was just the same and was constantly hungry. Good luck tomorrow.

The disordered eating perpetuated by dieting is exactly what we all need to get away from with this WOE. I am surrounded at work by people doing WW and SW who are not enjoying their lives which is why I am determined to find a WOE that I can adopt longterm and that lets me lead a normal life, socialise and have fun while becoming healthier and, hopefully a bit smaller.

Ilovemyteddy · 08/10/2012 19:41

willie Thanks

Great post xx

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 08/10/2012 19:42

Oh and forgot to say, that 7lbs loss is without any major bowel movement still.

Tmi alert. A little for the last few days but really not much passing thru chez toomuch loo.

biwi my friend who does Dukan suggests trying oat bran in water (or milk if allowed) to help. Is this allowed? Am taking a strong black coffee each day and have had vit c tablet last 3 days.

Viperidae · 08/10/2012 19:43

Forgot to say food today has been
B: None as was busy
Cup of tea with splash of milk mid-morning
L: Chicken breast with mushrooms, creamed leeks and courgettes (leftovers from yesterday
T: Salmon patties, mashed cauliflower and buttered samphire ('twas delicious!) and another cup of tea

I can sympathise with butterfly. I am not hungry in the evenings but am conscious that I am not stuffed and sedated by my tea. I'm hoping that will just pass with time.

butterflyexperience · 08/10/2012 19:58

Notagain - What are you having for you breakfast?

viper - Your lunch sounds lush...

Maybe Im expecting to feel stuffed and sedated...Not sure...it's like I still want something to eat even thought I'm full, and don't get that with my other meals.

OliviaLMumsnet · 08/10/2012 20:02

oh no
I have fallen victim to the eating without thinking curse and polished off a packet of peanuts while waiting for DH to come home.
But otherwise going well I think.

WineGless · 08/10/2012 20:15

Wow what a lot of posts I can hardly keep up.

All welcome Boobz but you may need to keep reminding us you are on a slightly different diet!

NotAgainAndAgain · 08/10/2012 20:17

Got fed up with eggs and bacon before Weeks 1.
Cottage cheese seemed to be not offensive, but so boring now.
I am seriously thinking about raw eggs -isn't it quicker to get them down in one gulp and forget about?

Domestic Goddess confessed that Saatchi's staple breakfast is 6 raw eggs.

NotAgainAndAgain · 08/10/2012 20:18

butterfly breakfast used to be my favourite meal. Now it is the least Sad

WillieWaggledagger · 08/10/2012 20:19

Good luck for tomorrow vnmum!

WillieWaggledagger · 08/10/2012 20:22

Toomuch are you managing any exercise? It always gets things moving for me

Omg buttered samphire viper... I am practically drooling

LRDtheFeministDragon · 08/10/2012 20:22

Ewww, I would not fancy raw eggs!

There's that vile drink made from them, isn't there? Avocaat (sp). It is literally the only alcohol I will never touch. Vile.

I have had today:

B - black coffee, bowl of yoghurt with cinnamon.
L - scrambled eggs with green pepper and spring onions, and salad leaves.
Snack - couple of slices of cheddar and fennel
D - steak with buttery spinach and green beans.

I've definitely had my 2.5 litres of water.

I'm absolutely shattered, and didn't drink as much coffee as usual, but it's possible the two aren't related.

WineGless · 08/10/2012 20:23

Olivia - you are still with us. Are you weighing in? And have you moved the banoffee pie recipe off the low carb section? We don't want anyone getting tempted now do we?

HumphreyCobbler · 08/10/2012 20:24

Toomuch, you need psyllium husks! I use the capsules as I can't bear drinking them neat.

WineGless · 08/10/2012 20:27

Notagain, what did you used to have for breakfast?
The whole idea is that we enjoy the food we eat! I don't think throwing raw eggs down your throat whilst holding your nose fits the ethos! Wink

Have you tried mims (muffins in a minute) for breakfast or having leftovers from night before?
Depending on my organisation the night before I have done ham rolled up filled with cream cheese, boiled eggs mashed with Boursin, Greek yogurt

bucksmum · 08/10/2012 20:32

Boosted by 11lb loss, today I've been to gym for first time in months - ouch!

Food today

B- chicken and coffee! (leftover from Sunday lunch)
L - ham, cheese & coleslaw
D - chicken curry and cauliflower rice

Gallons of fizzy water pretending it's gin Smile

tartiflette · 08/10/2012 20:40

Agree with Humph that psyllium husks are best for getting things moving - x2 twice a day washed down with a big glass of water, bob's your uncle Wink

Poppy1234 · 08/10/2012 20:52

Congratulations to all on the weight loss, my focus this week is definitely portion control, breakfast and lunch aren't an issue but I think my dinners are definitely on the too large side.

B: Greek yoghurt
L: Carbless burger from the new David Lloyd paleo menu.
D: Beef rendang with cauliflower rice and buttered green beans

DH has downloaded episode 2 of homeland so off to watch that and then bed. I have to say I sleep so well when I'm eating low carb.

EwanHoozami · 08/10/2012 20:57

OOH Nigella is cooking Italian pork scratchings.
