We managed to fill the thread before the end of the week, so I'm starting the next one.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness for you to record your weight tomorrow

I've just been swimming and for the first time ever I didn't have the urge to inhale half the vending machine on my way out. Am at home eating raw cauli dipped in bovril

B: squished eggs in mayo
L: weirdo cauliflower, as above. Also some leftover roast turkey.
D: Bresaola salad w/ roast broccoli and grilled aubergine.

People - if you've not tried BIWI's roast chilli broccoli yet (on the recipe thread I think), do yourselves a favour and get some down you. Wonderful stuff.

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 08/10/2012 16:28

Really pleased, am 2.25lbs down which is great. Tonight though have to eat chilli made with a Schwartz mix as dc are making tea, never realised what crap is in those mixes. Need to find a good recipe to try next week. Oh well, will have mine in lettuce leaves rather than tacos and hope it doesn't hit me too hard.

BigBroomstickBIWI · 08/10/2012 16:32

I think there's a chilli recipe on the recipe thread, Lavender

willie i can completely see where you are coming from. I'm not sure if i had disordered eating but my eating habits were not good when i tried either SW or WW. On SW i would binge with huge portions of 'allowed' foods just because the plan said i could and even though DH would question my portion sizes. On WW i would save points to use on junk and rather have a chocolate bar than a peice of fruit and if i cheated and went over, the next day i would just starve. When the new plan came in i would just use my extra weekly points for a cream cake and donut binge. That was not a healthy way to eat.
With low carb, food is just not an issue. I eat when i'm hungry and have no desire to binge on crap. I am eating healthier food than before (no bloody WW meals, uurgh)

So i am in total agreement that this is not a fad diet it is a healthy diet than can help people have a better relationship with food through hormone regulation.

frumpet i take a multivit, fish oil, l carnitine and Dlux vit d spray. It gives you 1000iu per spray. The Dc have that too. I read Robb Wolf's paleo solution book and he suggests supplements in the following doses.

Vit D3 2000 -5000iu per day
Omega 3, 3.5g of active DHA per day based on a 140lb person
Iodine 150mcg
Magnesium 1200mg

He does suggest some others but i wasn't too bothered with those as he said they weren't as important.

The only one i haven't found is magnesium. Apparently an effervescent magnesium tablet of 1200mg before bed can help you sleep

CackleMeIAmYours · 08/10/2012 17:02

So today:

B - 2 x sausage, 2 rashers bacon, 2 fried eggs (after my carb-filled weekend I was starving Sad
L - Shredded smoked salmon and Crayfish tails in mayo wrapped in iceberg lettuce leaves
D - Homemade cheeseburger with a teeny scraping of mustard.

Tomorrow, I'm going to attempt an Eggplant Parmigiana - wish me luck!

dotty2 · 08/10/2012 17:09

Yes, thank you Willie - overcoming disordered eating is my ultimate aim. I have a big comfort food issue and when the DCs were tiny and I wasn't coping very well I sometimes used to hide in the utility room to eat chocolate without them seeing. I still tend to eat rubbish when tired/bored/stressed. I'm not sure whether this woe takes away the urge to do it, or if it's just the idea of sticking to a plan and biscuits/choc being completely off limit that makes it easier.

Have just swum 1k and found it absolutely fine. Ran on Saturday and that was OK too. When I first started last week I was finding exercising hard but my body seems to have got used to it, which is great.

Have been avoiding drinking much today as 'working' at home (being distracted at home, more like) and had a decorator wallpapering our only loo. I must say that I have felt hungrier as a result and eaten too much cheese - so there's a lesson for us all. Loo looks good, though - just as well the amount of time I'm spending in there normally.

Boobz · 08/10/2012 17:43

Weighed in at 126lbs exactly today, so that is 3.6lbs off since Oct 1st start date. Fabby.

Today I have had:

B: 2 x eggs, 1 piece toast spread with 2/3 teaspoon butter
Snack1: 1 small plain yoghurt sprinkled with pecans
L: 3oz turkey, lettuce and 1/2 cup green peppers with dressing
Snack2: 3oz feta cheese, 1 cup broccoli, 6 peanuts
D: 3oz red snapper, 1 cup courgettes, 1 cup spinach

c. 2l water.

(This Zone Diet is all ounces and cups!)

BigBroomstickBIWI · 08/10/2012 17:45

Toast?!

That's not Bootcamp!

Nor are the pecans or peanuts!

I am hard as nails - just had cold shower as boiler has broken down and I'm too chicken to ask the neighbours if I can borrow theirs. It's ok though as we rent and agents are v v good at getting things fixed quickly

butterflyexperience · 08/10/2012 18:38

Hi Losers, need some advice.

I'm struggling with the dinner meal, I'm just not getting satisfied with it in the same way i do with breakfast and lunch.
I feel full but just not satisfied and I want something carby like chips, bread or mash potato.

My meals are:
B: fried in butter - 2 eggs, 3 bacon, 1 tomato, mushrooms
L: 1 tuna tin, cucumber, 6 cherry tomatos, 1 bell pepper and about 3oz cheese mixed together with helmans mayo
D: Salmon pan fried in butter with broccoli + cauliflower

Also had a boiled egg after dinner.

Any advice?

PrincessSparkle86 · 08/10/2012 18:40

butterfly perhaps try some more veg with dinner...or a cheese sauce with the cauli and broccoli??

butterflyexperience · 08/10/2012 18:44

Cheese sauce sounds interesting, how does one make cheese sauce?

PrincessSparkle86 · 08/10/2012 18:49

I've just posted a recipe on the recipe thread for you butterly

ForSaletotheHighestBidder · 08/10/2012 18:56

Celeriac mash is delicious, you could have that with your evening meal.

NotAgainAndAgain · 08/10/2012 18:58

fatty kind of chicken - I should have probably explained better. My holistic doctor brainwashed me successfully "no animal fat after 40", I got used to buy skinless fillets only. I attributed the lack of any weight loss to "not enough fat". So my idea of fatty chicken was not a good one my DH refused to read lables and brought me BBQ drumsticks from M&S garage. Now I hang my head in shame for not knowing that 5.4 carbs in chicken is high and no way acceptable. I won't! Ever!
Now I will record the food I eat may be there will be some answers why I am not loosing. Can it be that once you've reached some plateau, it stalls? Because I lost 8 lb earlierthis year (I was surprised myself when entered the spreadsheet as I did not work o it - may be it is a dream to get to my preferred weight?
Anyway, I forgot to enter my weight and since I have not lost anything, I will update s/s tomorrow morning - who knows may be last 48 h without scale did magic.

NotAgainAndAgain · 08/10/2012 19:00

butterfly funny you said that - I feel not satisfied with my breakfast, whatever I try, I miss my croissant terribly.
