Week 1 Weigh-In - Little Black Dress Low Carb Boot Camp

WillieWaggledagger · 30/09/2012 16:17

i know you're all dying to get started on the low carb boot camp, and for those who haven't done this before, here is the link to the spreadsheet where you should record your starting weight for Monday 1st October in column c next to your name. Please don't touch any other columns for now

weight is recorded in lbs, so if you have problems converting from kg or stones, FiddledeFat made a handy widget which can be found in the tab at the bottom labelled 'conversion'

if your name isn't on the spreadsheet then you can add yourself by adding a new line and dragging the formulae down from an adjacent row, or just ask me to add you and I will do so as soon as i can

good luck with the first week of bootcamp!

OMG. You lot post a LOT.

chocbuttons · 02/10/2012 21:35

Thanks BIWI. Really no nuts even for vegetarians? Thought I read somwhere upthread that that was allowed (wishful thinking maybe)

HumphreyCobbler · 02/10/2012 21:37

I am trying to think about doing shred every day. I am using the excuse of my cut finger not to do so today Blush

I KNOW it will make a great difference to my shape though. I must start tomorrow

BigStickBIWI · 02/10/2012 21:38

Ah. Yes - sorry! If you're veggie then that is allowed Blush

WineGless · 02/10/2012 21:40

Willie, is this day 1 of shred?
I too have been to the gym for second day in a row. Have gone to bed with the iPad to stay out of temptations way plus DH has decided to cook a batch of curry sauce for some bizarre reason!

Cauliflower rice is AMAZNG....you can mke it with turmeric for Indian food or Chinese 5 spice and splash of soya for Chinese
Yum

Piece of pork belly reduced in waitrose so that's tea for tomorrow sorted with baby veg and fried cabbage

DIYapprentice · 02/10/2012 21:57

For those of you struggling to give up milk in their teas and coffees, Alpro Soya Light has .1 g of carbohydrates per 100 ml.

MmeLindor · 02/10/2012 22:00

WineGless
Hurrah for the exam being over. Hope you did well.

Frittata sounds great for lunch. I have forgotten who suggested it (and this thread is huge), but thanks.

This thread is great - loads of great ideas.

LittleFrieda made me laugh with this comment
"For dinner, I'm going to have fillet steak with bearnaise sauce with watercress salad and green beans, DH and DS1 can have a jacket potato"

I am envisioning you tucking into a succulent steak with bearnaise sauce and veg, while your men stare forlornly at their jacket spuds.

(just read about the choc cake - tomorrow serve him just a spud. Serves him right!)

Thanks for all who asked - and for BIWI for linking. It is about Twitter, and is only a little book. Good stocking filler I might have to start paying BIWI commission cause she is linking it all over the shop!

Anyone notices how many of us have food-based usernames?

Maybe we need low-carb names :)

viper I've made the meatzza and it was really yummy, highly recommend!

MsRinky · 02/10/2012 22:07

I have roasted cauliflower with curry, tossed in cumin and chilli oil. I can't be arsed with cauliflower rice.

BigStickBIWI · 02/10/2012 22:08

@MmeLindor ! Grin

OMG. You lot post a LOT.

Keeping it bumped for your book.

Not because we are weak-willed numpties. Oh no. WinkGrin

caramelwaffle · 02/10/2012 22:18

Low carb names? Give over!

It's enough we've no carbs in our diet...

hurricanewyn · 02/10/2012 22:24

Is flaxseed allowed in boot camp?

MmeLindor · 02/10/2012 22:24

That Meatzza looks interesting.

WineGless · 02/10/2012 22:25

MsRinky, grate cauli in food processor and microwave. Ta dah! You can do egg fried rice by the frying with a beaten egg which is even yummier

PrincessSparkle86 · 02/10/2012 22:27

I just found a nice sounding recipe for spicy cauliflower rice.., ill add it to the recipe thread now Grin

MsRinky · 02/10/2012 22:31

I know how to do it, it just doesn't seem worth dirtying the food processor and getting flecks of cauli everywhere for the end result, whereas florets of roast cauli are gorgeous. Although it is true that it is good egg fried with prawns and sesame oil.

WineGless · 02/10/2012 22:41

Maybe it's years of conditioning of eating curry with rice that I like the texture. Although used to have chapati with my saag curry. Right going to bed-too much talk of food for me here

Night all

Jacaqueen · 02/10/2012 22:54

Meatzza looks like an old low carb recipe called cheeseburger pie.

NewStartSameStory · 02/10/2012 22:57

Well i am a weak willed failure today. All i am going to say is 2hrs sleep due to working with different time zones and having important project that is urgent, 4hrs of training. Massive meeting. over sleeping meaning planning when to pot. I won't disclose the damage but can safely say i shall be adding 2 days bootcamp to the end of the two weeks and will use tomo to restart completely.

Drank more caffine then water today and really really really noticing the difference. Thumping headache. Will pick up the B suppliements tomo when i ensure i have what i need for the do over.

hurricanewyn · 02/10/2012 23:01

Thanks biwi Smile

sybilfaulty · 02/10/2012 23:10

Good day here, swam a mile, ate well, drank loads, wee'd loads, etc now off to bed. Feel thinner already. Loving the LC chat. Keep talking - although i can't post much because of work etc, I am inspired by everyone's posts.

I made celeriac dauphinoise on Sunday and DH reckoned it was better than pototo version! He's less of a convert to cauliflower rice though.

Sleep well.

GreenEyesAndHam · 03/10/2012 06:32

Morning losers!

Sat here shivering at my desk with a cup of tea with a small splash of milk- for warmth purposes only you understand. Bacon and eggs will be my breakfast this morning I think

Have a good day all

sybilfaulty · 03/10/2012 06:42

Morning greeneyes! Black tea here. I have cocked up and have too many children coming back to mine to be able to take the car to school, so the kids and I will be walking to breakfast club in about 20m! Madness.

Don't know about my breakfast but I have caponata for lunch. I know it has tomatoes in it but they are only 3.1g / 100g so if we are sticking to veg under 3g, the difference is negligible. I am sure BIWI will put me right if not.

Have a great day everyone and keep warm! Hope the milk is working !
