Week 1 Weigh-In - Little Black Dress Low Carb Boot Camp

WillieWaggledagger · 30/09/2012 16:17

i know you're all dying to get started on the low carb boot camp, and for those who haven't done this before, here is the link to the spreadsheet where you should record your starting weight for Monday 1st October in column c next to your name. Please don't touch any other columns for now

weight is recorded in lbs, so if you have problems converting from kg or stones, FiddledeFat made a handy widget which can be found in the tab at the bottom labelled 'conversion'

if your name isn't on the spreadsheet then you can add yourself by adding a new line and dragging the formulae down from an adjacent row, or just ask me to add you and I will do so as soon as i can

good luck with the first week of bootcamp!

winegless will be thinking of you and your colleagues today.

WineGless · 03/10/2012 06:52

Morning early risers! Sybil that's horrendous but just think about the pounds you will lose with the extra exercise

Funerals are today Sad

Was running late as dd wet the bed so have thrown tub of yoghurt in and salad stuff with tin of tuna

Have a good day all

WineGless · 03/10/2012 06:53

Thanks mrs hp

Question is it no carbs or low carbs best , my carbs daily are at 14g am just curious doing own thing diet wise but thought you ladies may know the answer

GreenEyesAndHam · 03/10/2012 07:07

Also thinking of you WineGless x

I did at first think you meant you'd thrown the tub of yoghurt in the bed Confused Grin

Hope Sybil hasn't got too wet on the walk, but on the bright side- that's exercise that is!

Human, low carb for me, wherever possible from veg. No carb is way too restrictive

WillieWaggledagger · 03/10/2012 07:08

Thinking of you all too winegless

THC what do you mean? It's pretty hard to eat absolutely zero carb as it would mean cutting out all veg too which wouldn't be a good idea

Hello. Been trying to low carb for a couple of weeks but probably not doing it properly as have not lost a blinking ounce. Have about 10lb to loose and been trying to loose it forever. Can some give me the rules, or at least link to the rules? Thanks!

GColdtimer · 03/10/2012 07:30

Grrr, this isn't on my "threads i'm on".

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 03/10/2012 07:38

chocbuttons I felt sick last night and woke up at 4am really hungry and needing to pee

This morning I still feel a bit yukky.

thread is moving V fast! Grin

twofalls, the 'rules' of low carbing are simple - no bread, pasta, rice, cakes, sugar or carb loaded veggies. We are bootcamping, which is very strict. Have you read the Idiot Proof Diet? It explains the principles of low carbing and is easy to follow.

chocbuttons · 03/10/2012 07:46

JaxTeller - glad to know I'm not the only one!

I still feel really sick and was sweating and dizzy when I got out of bed this morning. How long do I have to suffer this? (my diet did basically consist of carbs before so maybe this is to be expected and all my own fault)

BIWI-thnx for confirmation re nuts.

Have a good day everyone

GColdtimer · 03/10/2012 08:13

Thanks jax. I have it somewhere and never read it. Completely forgot about it Blush
Will dig it out

caramelwaffle · 03/10/2012 08:26

Good morning everyone.

Thinking of you Winegless

Lots of herbal tea for breakfast and boiled egg white and avocado.

Livelongandprosper · 03/10/2012 08:32

Morning losers. Drawing a veil over yesterday. First day of staged return to work after sickness - was so dreadful DP took me out to lunch to cheer me up. On the positive side - I didn't have pudding.

Today I shall pretend it didn't happen.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 03/10/2012 08:32

choc, could be 'carbflu' will only last a few days, just make sure you drink plenty of water to flush all the nasties out and keep eating.

Just had an avocado and I feel a bit better. Going to make eggs and bacon after school run and dog walk.

HRH008 · 03/10/2012 08:41

Morning all,

I missed the start of the thread
I am starting today ...

I lost plenty of inches by doing the 4 hour body low carb ... then got into exercise (nobody was more surprised than I was) and did a TRIATHLON a month ago ... and since then all I have done is eat chocolate ...

and now I seem to be heavier than when I started

I need to be with people who will shame me into better eating. I´m in Germany, and umbilically linked to MN as my english speaking area of sanity.

Is there room in here for an estwhile slacker?

Collywibbles · 03/10/2012 08:42

Thinking of you and your colleagues today WineGless.

Good day yesterday topped off with a Tabata class followed by Body Pump! I was very hot and sweaty by the end and I know this isn't about calories but I reckon I burned quite a few! I did sin and have a 4 Brazil nuts on the way home but I was starving so please forgive me!

Scrambled egg with extra butter and cream for breakfast today and then I am off to Buggysize (without a buggy) followed by Bokwa :-)

Lunch will be Tuna, Mayo & Avocado with salad
Supper with be Chicken wrapped in streaky bacon (from farm shop) and mashed cauli with more butter.

Oh and lots of water .....

GreenEyesAndHam · 03/10/2012 09:07

Good morning and welcome HRH and well done on the triathlon. That's hardcore.

captainmummy · 03/10/2012 09:07

Ooh Colly - I had chicken stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon last night! DP said can we have this again even when we're not low-carbing?!

(Thinks - maybe i shouldn't be having the cream/cheese or bacon on bootcamp?)

LittleFrieda · 03/10/2012 09:16

Morning all. I went into ketosis in the night, so it took 48 hours. Interesting to know that if you have a cheat day, you probably then have another 2 days on top of the cheat day to get back to where you were. So it's really not worth cheating.

I don't have a headache but I didn't sleep very well.

HRH008 · 03/10/2012 09:18

Thanks GreenEyesAndHam ....

and I wasn`t last!

Ok, I was 10th from last but still ...

It wasn`t as horrific as I thought, and the adrenaline was amazing. It was a sprint tri, so it only(!) took an hour and a half. 500m swim, 17k on a bike and 5k run. If anyone is looking to get into something new, I can only recommend it. Now I just have to take my own advice and get back into it ...

foosty · 03/10/2012 09:22

morning everyone

How do you know when you go into ketosis, LittleFrieda?

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 03/10/2012 09:29

I did it, I Shredded! I didn't Shred last night, but I seem to have found more willpower somewhere overnight. Although the scales still haven't moved, boo!

CakeMeIAmYours · 03/10/2012 09:30

I have a bad case of carb flu this morning...feeling really lightheaded Sad

Never mind though, I have a couple of low carb sausages under the grill which is cheering me up a bit.

Foosty I have ordered some of these. I like being able to monitor/track progress so I'm hoping they will keep me focused
