Week 1 Weigh-In - Little Black Dress Low Carb Boot Camp

WillieWaggledagger · 30/09/2012 16:17

i know you're all dying to get started on the low carb boot camp, and for those who haven't done this before, here is the link to the spreadsheet where you should record your starting weight for Monday 1st October in column c next to your name. Please don't touch any other columns for now

weight is recorded in lbs, so if you have problems converting from kg or stones, FiddledeFat made a handy widget which can be found in the tab at the bottom labelled 'conversion'

if your name isn't on the spreadsheet then you can add yourself by adding a new line and dragging the formulae down from an adjacent row, or just ask me to add you and I will do so as soon as i can

good luck with the first week of bootcamp!

One 15 minute break? And no water allowed? Ouch

BigStickBIWI · 02/10/2012 19:40

caramel - sorry - I thought you'd given into potato-based snacks Grin

TellMe Later - I hope/I assume you don't mean real pizza ... Hmm

LittleFrieda - Grin

Jacaqueen · 02/10/2012 19:49

LittleFrieda that is funny.

Frumpet I am really intrigued and trying to work out what you must do for a job?! Sounds tough anyway!!

BigStickBIWI · 02/10/2012 20:16

frumpet - well done to not giving into the lure of the carby stuff!

foosty - how many cups of tea are you having? If it's only one or two, then it probably doesn't matter - but just keep an eye on it.

mumtoblaire · 02/10/2012 20:25

Feeling pretty good and no headaches.

Breakfast was 2 hotdogs and 2 poached eggs with mayo
Lunch was 2 turkey rashers and 2 slice of cheese with extra virgin olive oil
Dinner chicken salad - chicken, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and mayo
Got through 2 litres of water.

I did have 2 cups of tea with 10ml of skimmed milk in each.

NigellasGuest · 02/10/2012 20:26

you can use Vanilla Essence as a sweetener I think.
if appropriate!

Doshusallie · 02/10/2012 20:37

Tea was chicken curry and green beans.

Coffee with cream.

Doshusallie · 02/10/2012 20:39

Watching the great british bake off is torture.

foosty · 02/10/2012 20:40

Hi BIWI - I usually have about 3 or 4 a day. 3 before lunch time sometimes! Am trying to have a big glass of water first thing these days too.

just had dinner and am stuffed. Had cabbage and cauliflower cheese with my chicken. Was YUMMY.

CakeMeIAmYours · 02/10/2012 20:40

I was just thinking the same Doshusallie Sad

LaVitaBellissima · 02/10/2012 20:41

Dosh I feel your pain, why oh why am. I watching the great British Bake off??????? Gingerbread, caramel.... And DM has come to stay and is quaffing a bottle of red right next to me Envy

Viperidae · 02/10/2012 20:41

I am back to feeling a bit spaced out, just like I did last time I low carbed. Had headache and felt achey and yuk today but am taking my supplements and having some salt and plenty of water so, hopefully, it will pass soon.

Last time I lost over a stone in 3 weeks but then had a holiday (with an accessible Haagen-Dazs shop) and a week of birthdays, etc. When I weighed on Mon it looks like I regained 9lb in 2 weeks Shock

Anyway, today I ate:
B - Courgette frittata
L - Cold meats and a tiny bit of salad (salads were mostly pasta, couscous, etc so think I just ate a garnish!) It was a work lunch so no choice
T - Slow roast belly pork, celeriac dauphinoise and mushrooms with a little Boursin

chocbuttons · 02/10/2012 20:43

Can I join in late pls? I was a bit last minute, but did get started yesterday. (Dont need to be added to the spread sheet as I dont have scales - just want to get into my old clothes!!)
Anyway, everyone seems to be doing really well. Wanted to ask if anyone else is feeling hungry and sick at the same time (as in nauseous - reminds me of being pregnant)? And worst of all I already am sick of eggs, cheese and fatty things (am veggie so options are limited). Menu so far -day 1 - scrambled eggs, fried tofu and courgette with green salad, mushrooms fried in sour cream with green salad. Day 2 - Greek yoghurt with a few almonds, mushrooms as per day 1s dinner, mashed cauli. Snacks - a bit of cheese and about 7 peanuts.
Anyone got any advice? I'm hungry all the time, but can't face more eggs and cheese...
Thanks

Just been to the gym. I bloody hate exercise but i'm getting addicted to the treadmill, particularly as i can watch tv at the same time Grin

Brought some portobello mushrooms and goats cheese to make the recipe i posted upthread for brekkie tomorrow. Black Farmers sausages cabbage broccoli and leeks for dinner. Yum!

Trying to psych myself up to Shred, but still feel really full from dinner.

Dinner was changed at last minute to fry-up, featuring low-carb sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and mushrooms, due to discovery that sausages were about to go off. However, I gave DD some Greek yoghurt for pudding and had some myself and it just tipped me over into far-too-full mode, bleurgh.

MsRinky · 02/10/2012 20:52

Evening all.

Menu today, mini frittatas for breakfast, smoked tuna, feta, cucumber and olives for lunch, roast pork fillet with sage and creme fraiche sauce, tender stem broccoli, roasted Brussels sprouts.

Viperidae · 02/10/2012 20:54

I might make Nigella's "meatzza" tomorrow, has anyone else tried it? www.nigella.com/recipes/view/MEATZZA-5546

Thought I'd leave the breadcrumbs out to make it low carb and serve with salad.

PrincessSparkle86 · 02/10/2012 20:57

Does anyone have any links to a good curry recipe? What do you substitute rice with?

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 02/10/2012 21:05

Loving the meatzza idea! Will have to try that.

TellMeLater · 02/10/2012 21:06

Low carb pizza of course Biwi

I have posted the recipe on the appropriate thread. The base is firm enough to hold. No nuts or flaxseed so bootcamp friendly.

BigStickBIWI · 02/10/2012 21:11

chocbuttons - you are very welcome! But no nuts on Bootcamp!

Princess - a couple of curry recipes just been posted on the recipe thread. I don't substitute anything for rice, just have the curry, but some people make cauliflower rice

TellMeLater - Grin phew!

WillieWaggledagger · 02/10/2012 21:14

Reader, I shredded

It was horrid, but not as bad as I remembered. The worst thing was exercising indoors which I HATE
