Week 1 Weigh-In - Little Black Dress Low Carb Boot Camp

WillieWaggledagger · 30/09/2012 16:17

i know you're all dying to get started on the low carb boot camp, and for those who haven't done this before, here is the link to the spreadsheet where you should record your starting weight for Monday 1st October in column c next to your name. Please don't touch any other columns for now

weight is recorded in lbs, so if you have problems converting from kg or stones, FiddledeFat made a handy widget which can be found in the tab at the bottom labelled 'conversion'

if your name isn't on the spreadsheet then you can add yourself by adding a new line and dragging the formulae down from an adjacent row, or just ask me to add you and I will do so as soon as i can

good luck with the first week of bootcamp!

Re water, i've got a 50 cl bottle that I keep refilling - which has just prompted a debate in the office as to how many cl constitutes a litre. 100 by the way. Grin

Congrats on book MME! And I hope your exam was ok Wine.

NigellasGuest · 02/10/2012 15:29

no probs WillieWaggle and fwiw I believe spring onions are ok!

LittleFrieda · 02/10/2012 15:30

Or perhaps a spring onion, instead of onion.

For dinner, I'm going to have fillet steak with bearnaise sauce with watercress salad and green beans, DH and DS1 can have a jacket potato.

ForSaletotheHighestBidder · 02/10/2012 15:30

Didnt have balsamic, don't have a heart attack BIWI!

Went with a little bit of mayo on the side.

Fingers crossed for you wine.

I has forgotten how much better I feel sans carby foods! I played two games of netball last night.

B - three rashers of bacon
L - lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, olives and feta
D - tbc - just going to choose something for the oven now as DH out!!!

LittleFrieda · 02/10/2012 15:53

Willie - LOL I need to balance out the increased cost of my shopping. Grin

LittleFrieda · 02/10/2012 15:54

Mme - You've had a book published. Can you link? Congratulations.

caramelwaffle · 02/10/2012 15:59

Have had baked cod, Corizo, ham and parma ham, Chilli oil, chills - lots, olives and feta cheese with a smidgen of mayo (am going to have to buy some Delouis mayonnaise)

I'll be honest. It feels like I am eating far, far too much fat. Oil and butter. Is this really good? Feels so counterintuitive.

I'll be doubly honest: I have a drumstick lollipop and have licked it three times

Felt spaced out earlier (probably the caffeine tea and eating less) Back to only herbal/fruit tea.

caramelwaffle · 02/10/2012 16:00

Congratulations MmeLindor on the book release.

BigStickBIWI · 02/10/2012 16:41

MmeLindor's book

WineGless - hope the exam was ok

caramel - no problems with the fat - honestly! The fat you eat doesn't become fat on your body - it's the carbohydrate that does. (So stop licking that lolly!)

ForSale - phew! Grin

Doshusallie · 02/10/2012 16:48

i was going to ask which book but assumed MME wouldn't want to be outed???

Mind you it might sell more copies -I have no idea how to do what her book is about!

CakeMeIAmYours · 02/10/2012 16:50

Well done MmeLindor !

So today:

B - pan fried chicken breast that I had marinated in olive oil/mint/lemon/chilli overnight
L - Crayfish tails mixed with a bit of full fat mayo and lemon juice and eaten like a fajita but with lettuce leaves instead of tortillas
D - Homemade beef burger with a grating of cheddar which I will also wrap in lettuce following the success of lunch Smile

Breaking news, however, is that I had no tea at all today - not a single cup! So no milk - wooohooo!

Have been drinking herbal tea and water all day instead and am now much better friends with my loo Smile

BigStickBIWI · 02/10/2012 16:53

No - she doesn't mind (I checked)! It's called Learn Twitter in 10 Minutes.

Good loo news, Cake!

GreenEyesAndHam · 02/10/2012 17:03

Well done Mme L!

Jacaqueen · 02/10/2012 17:06

Well done on the tea Cake.
I did well yesterday but succumbed today.

I definitely think I have issues with dairy. After a little bit of milk in my tea earlier I have been tempted whilst grating cheese for the children.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 02/10/2012 17:19

Blush have had 3 cups of tea with ff milk today so far. Might try drinking coffee with cream this evening instead.

Jaca, dairy isn't necessarily bad. It can stall some people. You may or may not be one of them. I have learned from refusing to give it up experimentation that I can eat it and still lose weight, but my stepfather, for instance, gets 'cheese sweats' (ew!). Milk is too carby for Bootcamp, though, even full fat. Sad

Limonata · 02/10/2012 17:27

Reading this thread is making me SOOOO hungry! And it's the dratted Bake Off tonight which I LOVE, and is like a kind of pleasure/pain torture. Did anyone see the doughnuts last week? (left eye twitches a bit when I think about it...)
Today
B: Full fat plain yogurt w cinnamon
L:Left over roast chicken and roast veg from last night (aubergine, courgette, red onion - only a little bit) parma ham and two scrambled eggs
D: Will be lamb with mint, more roasted veg as above, green beans and broccoli with butter and feta crumbled over the top. Bake Off for pudding....

wordfactory · 02/10/2012 17:31

I did okay at my lunch out.

Courgette soup with fried courgette flowers. Followed by a fetta, olive and sprout salad.

I heroically declined a fabulous chocolate torte...but did have two glasses of champagne Blush. In my defence, we had a lot to celebrate.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 02/10/2012 17:33

Things I have NOT done today

I did not lick the nutella spread knife that dh left by the sink this morning

I did not have a biccy with my 2pm (black) coffee

I did not finish the last few crisps left in the bag in Ds lunchbox (gave them to the dog)

I did not eat the banana and toast leftovers from DS post school snack (gave crusts to the dog)

I am very very proud of myself so far Grin the dog is pretty chuffed with me too Wink I may have to schedule him an extra long walk if I keep using him as my carb dustbin!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/10/2012 17:37

I am craving carbs so badly! Am trying to talk myself down here Sad

HumphreyCobbler · 02/10/2012 17:41

don't do it! You can make it through. Break that carb addiction, don't let it win!

I always found eating some lettuce with some really salty salad dressing helped for some reason. Or some cheese.

WineGless · 02/10/2012 18:04

Pistey don't do it
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels!are you waiting for tea to cook? Can you have a glass of water?
