We've nearly grown out of the last thread here so i started the new one.

We're all doing different things but we're all here to support each other on the journey. We kick each other when we need it and offer sympathy when that's more appropriate.

Has anyone found that dieting has taken the fun out of food shopping? We've been to aldi today and one side of the whole first aisle is full of yummy continental choc and gorgeous biccies. I was depressed before i'd even been in there 5 mins Sad

TheHumancatapult · 18/10/2012 19:51

I do mine online ( no aldi Ot lidol here ) so that does help with temptation

But yes all shops shoving biscuits and posh treats

cookieowner · 18/10/2012 19:53

yes i do mine online too as you only get what you want then instead of being tempted by extras

Youcanringmybell · 18/10/2012 22:08

Online only when on a diet...90% of the shop is high fat stuff. Yummy all the same Sad

Goonatic · 18/10/2012 22:31

Wow well done cookie sounds like you are sorted! Am trying v hard this week am hoping o kick arse on Monday!

tiggy114 · 19/10/2012 08:56

Also it's all about xmas goodies now and need to hold off on the mince pies atleast till december. Starting now would not be good.

ICBINEG · 19/10/2012 08:59

Oh god - mince pies....noooooooo...

Mathsdidi · 19/10/2012 09:03

Hi all, Goldidi here under a new name.

Sorry I haven't been around the past couple of weeks, I've not been very good and didn't want to bring you all down with me. I've been poorly and off work, so I've not wanted to eat healthy food really, although I've also not wanted to eat much of anything so maybe it'll be ok.

Hope you are all doing well, I haven't looked back at the thread very much yet.

ICBINEG · 19/10/2012 10:22

maths I hope you are well again now?

you are a silly though! we are supposed to be here for you when it goes pants. check out the whole dieting is stupidly hard section up thread! Also thread rule 31 is " dieters shall feel no guilt for not dieting while sick."

I think everyone on the thread has blinked at some point (except possibly Human and I think she might have her eyes shut right now or maybe superhuman)

TheHumancatapult · 19/10/2012 10:40

Hope feeling better Maths and just getting through day when I'll is more important than dieting

Ice

I have blinked twice this week and of our for lunch and I shall be blinking a lot . I don't often go out eat out but 3 times this week but oh well I'm enjoying it Grin
steak chips pepper sauce and mushrooms on menu today Though will pass on a starter and find I can't finish a desert now though Sad maybe I should skip mains go straight to desertGrin

Admit I have doubled up the work ours though to try negotiate some of the damage but if a gain So be it

TheHumancatapult · 19/10/2012 10:42

Must admit my sweet tooth not so sweet nowadays but I admit I'm being strict and not eating it tbh as I can't eat just one biscuit or two

Goonatic · 19/10/2012 11:48

Yeay maths we missed you! Yuk, hope you are getting better, dieting is not suitable when ill so don't even give it a second thought, it would prolong your illness...... Or something.
I put n three pounds when I moved and then a pound the week after that but have been HARDCORE since then so am hoping to lose it all this week..... Am starving!

ellargh · 19/10/2012 12:48

New here! Looking to lose 4/5 stone but 2lb week by week :o

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 19/10/2012 12:53

Welcome back maths I hope you're feeling better. I had a bad couple of days but I weighed myself today and I am still about an ounce less than 13st so no change since monday. I am feeling low because I thought I had retrained my body but when I tried to just have one biscuit or crisp couldn't stop. I really think abstinence is easier for me when it comes to snacks.

Must finish my ocado order, totally agree with comments above about shopping is miserable if you can't go into nice food aisle.

Making minestrone soup for dinner tonight and hairy bikes diet cottage pie on Sunday as in laws are visiting. Anyone else got anything nice planned?

Youcanringmybell · 19/10/2012 12:55

Hello Mathdidi - I have been naughty on and off for a while now. Still losing or maintaining so not going too mental. You can still come here when having a few days of relaxed eating!! Or even after a binge. We have all done it - or we wouldn't be here !!

Welcome Ellargh - You will fit right in. Everyone is terribly friendly, supportive and we all understand the BATTLE OF THE BASTARD BULGE Grin

Are you doing any particular eating changes or just healthier eating habits?

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 19/10/2012 12:57

Welcome ellagh. I'm also aiming to lose about 4, have already done 10 lbs and it's made quite a difference, I'm down to size 14. And earlier I threw some huge knickers away.

Hoping my rubbish bag doesn't get torn open by a fox when I put it out Tuesday. Visions of big white granny knickers flying across the road Grin

ellargh · 19/10/2012 13:05

I'm a size 18 to 20 at 5ft9. I want to be a size 12-14 first as it would have been the smallest I have been since I was 14.

Eating quite healthily (water, rice with mixed veg for lunch) & walking a lot more so far.

cookieowner · 19/10/2012 13:07

Hi Ellagh
I am trying to lose 4 stone aswelll, ive lost around 10lbs so far since starting in september
good luck to you

TheHumancatapult · 19/10/2012 13:49

Hi Ellagh

And I started with 10 stone to loose but now am down to 5 stone now

TheHumancatapult · 19/10/2012 13:50

That's to loose not in weight

Trick is to keep on chipping away lb by lb

Jonny I have exact same problem can't stop at one so for me it's better not to start

Goonatic · 19/10/2012 14:23

Hey johnny have four year old party, youcan had the pleasure of meeting her this morning as she was about to go into a full meltdown this morning over a packet of French fries! (she has had a sleep now and is fine btw!)

Will be busy wrapping up pass the parcel etc tomorrow! We are saving the debit of i laws till next weekend.......

tiggy114 · 19/10/2012 15:23

So who is the cheapest/best to shop online with? I always go to aldi coz their soooo cheap but i've been put off by online shopping coz of delivery charges. It seems lots of you do it though so who do you use? Whats's ocado?

TheHumancatapult · 19/10/2012 17:19

I use Asda like Sainsburys but noticed their prices gone up a lot and as it comes from smaller store lots of substions and unlike Asda if it costs more they charge you more where Asda if it costs more they only charge price you would have paid

Delivery midweek £3 but not sure if more if smaller shop which mine never is 4dc and 2 of them are teen boys

emonslemons · 19/10/2012 20:37

tiggy114 · 19/10/2012 21:52

Hi emonslemons. Good to have you. My fave low fat snack at the mo is organix baby apple and rice fruit pots. I pinch my DD's!!! They're yum and low cal. I was breastfeeding but my girl is 21 mo now and only fed once in a week! So i can't really count on that to lose me calories now Smile guess she'll be finished soon. Sad but happy as well about that.
