We've nearly grown out of the last thread here so i started the new one.

We're all doing different things but we're all here to support each other on the journey. We kick each other when we need it and offer sympathy when that's more appropriate.

Welcome lemons and good luck, lovely to meet you.

I am breatstfeeding but dd2 is nearly 2 so I'm not sure if she uses any calories. We just do it in the morning and before bed so it's like a lovely cuddle.

Healthy snacks - I find grapes and bananas fill me up and also pickled onions(but I suspect they're not healthy). If you have time you should skim these threads as we've had various conversations about snacks and low cal foods we've enjoyed. We also had a conversation about water last week. When I want a snack now I drink a glass of water just to make sure I'm not just thirsty and often it's enough to stop me having the snack.

Tiggy, ocado is a southern delivery service. They sell wAitrose food and now their own range. The delivery is expensive but I can't drive so as I could be spending thousands on a car or taxis I don't mind. I also find I spend less buying online because I don't buy wine on special offer make any spontaneous purchases.

emonslemons · 20/10/2012 11:30

thanks everyone!

are you guys following a specific kinda diet or just healthy eating?
im trying to eat a whole foods diet with some weight watchers inspiration such as zero points soup etc.

Goonatic · 20/10/2012 11:42

I eat dates, they are really sweet and dense so keep me going for ages. Or waitrose fat free yogurts, as they don't have aspartame in and loads ofmother diets things do and i am paranoid!

Tortoise · 20/10/2012 12:22

Ended up with takeaway again last night as Asda failed to deliver for the 3rd time. Never using their online delivery again!

Kind of expecting to have done badly again Monday. Totally lost my way with this and need to get back on track! Going to start afresh Monday.

Youcanringmybell · 20/10/2012 12:58

You and me both Tortoise. I have had a relaxed week with outings, birthdays etc Next week is hardcore!! Plus, I feel a bit ill when I eat crappy food now, which is a bonus really!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 20/10/2012 13:17

Emons I started out with just healthy eating but then discover myfitnesspal and found that by cutting out the crap I was eating about 1500 calories a day,
so now I aim to eat 1200-1500 cals a day. I think if I tried to follow any diet i would probably give up.

Youcan, for lunch I had your balsamic idea, tomatoes, garlic and peppers on grilled bread. It was nice to have something different for lunch other than soup or salad. My stomach is definitely shrinking as I was full with just 1 bit of bread. Normally I'd eat half the whole loaf with loads of butter and cheese. It was a yummy freshly cooked loaf.

TheHumancatapult · 20/10/2012 14:21

Emons

I'm
Low carbing combined with low fat /calorie counting and it's working for me even though is boreing and restrictive as I'm not the sort of person who can eat just ond biscuit

TheHumancatapult · 20/10/2012 14:25

I also use fitness pall keep me on track

cookieowner · 20/10/2012 15:44

i use my fitness pal too and dont restrict any food and just keep to my 1200 a day calories, i also have saturdays off from calorie counting aswell

tiggy114 · 20/10/2012 20:59

Goonatic, i also am trying to avoid aspartame and msg. My son has hyperactivity so we're trying to avoid but it's in everything!!!! When you look at aspartame on net aswell, it is not good stuff. You are right to be paranoid.

Goonatic · 20/10/2012 21:40

My bf is a food lawyer and has filled me in on why it's banned in the us. Scary!
Guess what...... My lovely dad made my little goon her bday cake, bit gooey choc thing, and it has been sitting in the kitchen since 3pm, all the little kiddies at the party had a bit. Have I??? NO I HAVENT!!!!I have eaten a drumstick lolly mind but I am winning the fight against the bastard chocolate cake. RRRRAAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!

Youcanringmybell · 20/10/2012 22:28

johnny - it is delicious! I will be having the same for lunch tomorrow. Yum!

dancinginthemoonlight · 21/10/2012 07:45

Well done goon! wish I could say the same! Struggling at the min to find my motivation. Hopefully this cold and sore throat will curb my appetite...

FedUpOfRain · 21/10/2012 10:19

Morning all, I have been hiding a little bit because I have been rubbish at healthy eating this last week, weighed myself mid-week and I have gone up a couple of lbs. My hours at work have increased and I?m struggling to think of healthy (but tasty) lunches I can take with me and then find the effort to cook a proper meal when I get in.

Been reading back through the messages to try and give my motivation a boost and wondering if I can wakeup 30 mins earlier to work out? think it might be easier said than done though!!

Well done to everyone who has been good this week, it?s bloody hard!

ICBINEG · 21/10/2012 13:38

Oh how interesting - we have a pocket of extended/natural term breast feeders! I am also still BF although we are only at 17 months. We had gone down to just morning and night but at the moment we seem to be back to 4 feeds between 7pm and 7 am and the cheeky monkey just scrounged some now as well....she must be planing to grow 5 inches in the next 2 weeks....

tiggy114 · 21/10/2012 16:46

Icbineg i'm not surprised at all. I've never eaten so much as when i've been breastfeeding. I was hungry all the time. No wonder i'm overweight. Your supposed to burn calories bf, but i have put on way more weight than i've burned off coz i was hungry all the time!!!!!

Mathsdidi · 21/10/2012 22:13

I'm still bf too. Dd2 is now 2y7months and still feeds morning and night most days. I don't know whether she uses any calories but I know that SW recommends you eat an extra healthy extra if bf a baby over 6 months so that's what I'm doing. I think I might plan to give up soon but I'm a bit wary of upsetting her bedtime routine as it took us so long to get her sleeping properly. She shows no signs of wanting to self-wean, so either I'll have to plan it or she'll still be feeding when she starts school Hmm

TheHumancatapult · 22/10/2012 06:19

Ok quick pop in 4lb loss here had couple bad days meals out though did try semi healthy bar the chips on Friday and had doubled up workouts

But past couple days in hospital with dd and not eaten a lot . Though now moved hospitals that may change as they provide meals here and don't care what is will eat so deigning how long next week may not be good no exceed exercising either

TheHumancatapult · 22/10/2012 06:20

Excuse the typos Blush

Goonatic · 22/10/2012 08:21

Oh great losshuman sorry your dd is poorly. How long will you be in for.

Posting a 3lb loss here, had I posted it on sun am it would have been 5 so I am not quite sure what happened yesterday!??! Weird......

Anyway, am not that disappointed as 3 lb is a lot!!!!!!
Good luck everyone x

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 22/10/2012 08:31

human well done for doing so well especially when things are so hard. I hope dd is alright.

I didn't lose anything but I'm pleased to still be 181.9lb ie just under 13st. Had quite a good week apart from two incidents with too many crisps and one with biscuits.

Glad to hear of so many bfers. I don't know anyone in real life bfing for so long, I always feel like people are judging me when I say I'm still doing it so tend to keep it a secret.

fedup do you have a microwave at work? You could do a batch of chilli or soup. Also to make evenings easier for me I have just chopped up and frozen a load of stuff (onions, bacon, cabbage, peppers, celery) so I can make healthy meals by just chucking stuff into a pan with curry paste or tinned tomatoes and garlic. I am trying to avoid being so tired that I just order a delivery curry (one of dhs favourites).

Good morning everyone else, I hope you have a good weigh-in. It's great that we're all still going even though it's so bloody difficult.

FedUpOfRain · 22/10/2012 08:48

No loss again this week, but I have stayed the same which I'm very pleased about because I thought I was going up! I am going to have a GOOD week.

Thanks Johnny I think have veg prepared and ready to go will really help. I will do that this afternoon.

Well done to everyone who has lost (or stayed the same Smile )

cantmakecarrotcake · 22/10/2012 08:53

Morning!

A surprise 1lb loss this week to be 11st 8lb. Absolutely no idea how it happened as I've not really been concentrating on making better choices. I suspect it's just a fluctuation and won't last but I'm taking it as a minor victory!

Tiggy, I was super hungry when breast feeding and that was when I put my weight on (only a little bit during pregnancy in comparison. The coffee and cake opportunities were just too many!

Here's to a good week.

ICBINEG · 22/10/2012 09:19

Morning all. Just wanted to say a big thank you to all you thread NELS (no excuses losers). Knowing there was a weight in this morning is all that kept me from binging over the weekend!

Okay so another 2lb off for me. Now at 12 s 3 lbs and total thread loss of 1 s 7lbs.

I have rediscovered my waist! Although my DD still finds it funny to poke her hand into my stomach until it disappears....

ICBINEG · 22/10/2012 09:22

heh I also put on more weight during BF than during pregnancy...although I had hyperemisis so that wasn't hard....
