Happy Birthday Emma Grin

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 22/08/2012 09:57

Right, restarting officially today. 4.5 days of badness have put me back up 4lbs, grr! I'm retaining water like crazy, though, so hopefully it will all whoosh off again. Have drunk 2 pints of water already this morning - no brekkie yet, will have some Greek yoghurt when I get hungry.

emmak86 · 22/08/2012 10:03

Thanks everyone Grin

Im on route to brighton! Hve had a lovely morning Smile

B- was a left over bidrseye chicken burger ( no time for bacon and eggs this morning!)

X

Happy Birthday Emma, oh to be 26 again Smile

Up late this morning, not sleeping too well with DH being away. I had better get used to it as I can't manage for 7 months on very little sleep Sad.

B- protein shake (trying not to make this a habit)

rest of the day I will take as it comes. DC are having almond or coconut flour pancakes with bacon for tea. As much as they sound very nice, they will be too carby so I will probably end up having something with salad.

My skin is starting to look a bit rough at the moment, I think it is because too much creamy sauce and cheese has crept in my diet the past few weeks so I am going to clean it up quick before I get a major breakout.

I am also getting a tad frustrated with not being able to workout. I can't even do a video as the DC need occupying most of the time and I can't exercise at night once they are in bed as it makes me unable to sleep. I did play a game of sprint races and pressups out the front of the house the other day, I wonder what the neighbours must have thought Smile

hazchem · 22/08/2012 11:45

vnmum have you tried Briffa 12 minute work out? It really takes 12 minutes I've done it a few times and it feel like a proper work out but I'm really aiming to get to running 5km so am finding it tricky to fit both in.

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 22/08/2012 11:47

Happy birthday Emma!

MegTheCat · 22/08/2012 11:57

Hi all - tracked down the new thread now that I've wrestled the laptop off DS(16) He is hanging around next to me as he doesn't know what to do without it... Anyway I had lost no weight at the weigh in on Monday but weighed 2 lb lighter yesterday.
vnmum sprint races and pressups sounds like a great idea. I used to play football at the park with my dcs when they were younger (can hardly get them out of the house these days) - I probably looked silly but was a pretty good workout for me and kept them entertained. Would that work with yours? When they were a bit older we did tennis.
Could you do the 12-minute workout in the Dr Briffa book?

NigellasGuest · 22/08/2012 12:31

Happy Birthday Emma! Thanks Thanks Thanks
Hope you have a wonderful day.

vmum I'm very Envy that nothing came up for you on that quiz.
I definitely have the one called "hormone havoc" and am going ahead with taking amino acids to sort this. I am sick, sick, sick of the sugar cravings.....

in other news, I am pleased to say that I am now bouncing up and down from the grand weight of 9 stone 13 and a half pounds, as opposed to 10 stone 2. I am starting to get a feel for how my body is deciding to shed the weight....

halfthesize · 22/08/2012 13:08

hi all, hope you like my new name, was(mummyduff)

vnmum well done re weightGrin I honestly dont know how you do it re DH, oh and we are making the muffins later, will let you know how it goes.

Breakfast - coffee
Lunch - eggs and mushrooms

vnmum · 22/08/2012 13:35

I still have the downstairs of the house to clean yet, not eaten any lunch as been busy so not sure what to have.

I haven't got the Briffa book so don't know what the workout is. I still might have time to play races agin with DS later or I did think of doing some kettlebell exercises in the garden and some pull ups on the DC swing but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to do that in front of the neighbours. They will either think I'm showing off or a loon Grin. Hopefully DH will be back on friday so I should be able to go to the gym on saturday although I'll be fighting him for it as there was no gym where he is so he hasn't had a workout and the food is carbs at every meal so his IBS will no doubt be playing up now.

vnmum · 22/08/2012 13:48

halfthesize Like the new name by the way Smile, with DH I just have to get on with it. It isn't easy and when he goes for months at a time it can get very lonely as sometimes you won't have any adult company for weeks on end. I like to think we are the silent troops left behind because we just get on with it and don't complain no matter how hard it gets. It is just unfortunate that we sometimes get a bad attitude from some members of the public. They just say 'well you knew what you were getting into when you got married' but yes you have an idea but until you actually do it for the first time you don't really know what it is going to be like and when alot of people I know got married, Afghan wasn't on the cards so they didn't know they would be dealing with deployments every 2 years or less. When I got married DH went to Iraq 6 months later and I was left somewhere where I didn't really know anyone and was watching the news of all the riots and the one friend I did have there, her husband got injured Sad. Luckily I was working at the time so I was kept busy and didn't have DC then but it was a sort of baptism of fire. I've know learnt not to watch the news when he's deployed as it just makes you worry more and I would find out if something happened to him before it was on the news anyway.

vnmum · 22/08/2012 13:49

halfthesize · 22/08/2012 18:44

Dinner cooking, chicken breast wrapped in bacon with cheesy veg...

Emma glad you are having a great timeSmile

Medal · 22/08/2012 19:02

Happy birthday Emma, enjoy your time away!

Had a bit of a funny day for food today....
B: bit of mackerel and two scrambled eggs
L: small bowl of oatbran/porridge - I am on maintenance and trying to increase carbs slightly! then a mackerel salad a couple of hours later
D: chicken and veg I think

Medal · 22/08/2012 19:06

Meant to say I used to be a big fan of porridge in my pre-BC days and I am sure it did keep me going till lunchtime most of the time, but now it seems it is making me very hungry as soon as I've eaten it - hence needing to eat again a couple of hours later. Think going LC for a long time does make you more sensitive to carbs/sugars? Waffling, sorry......

hazchem · 22/08/2012 20:55

Just wondering what you do about "tired hungry". I'm really struggling with the time between say 4 and 6:30. Can't seam to eat enough so I don't feel hungry then all of a sudden when it's actually dinner time I'm feel full.

Is the answer to just not snack at all and fight through the tired

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 22/08/2012 21:27

Drink water or have a (decaff) coffee with cream?

That's what I had to do tonight after DH got distracted when cooking and dinner did not appear until 9pm!

AuntieMaggie · 22/08/2012 21:29

hi all :)

i've been cutting down my carbs over the last couple of weeks and now i thought i'd give this a go!

i've been having porridge for breakfast, but meat/cheese salad for lunch and meat/fish and veg for dinner with.a couple of pieces of fruit in the day and i'm really surprised how well i feel and how not hungry i am! i'm struggling to eat 1200 calories at the moment!

so tomorrow i'll have eggs and tomatoes for breakfast, mozzarella salad for lunch and some meat/veg concoction for dinner hopefully i won't need to snack much but i sometimes suffer with my blood sugar.

Wish me luck!

BIWI · 22/08/2012 22:50

AuntieMaggie - you don't need to count calories on this WOE (way of eating). And if you have blood sugar issues, then cutting down on the carbs will be perfect.

You need to ditch the fruit though. That really won't be doing you any favours.

Good luck and welcome!
