I am also 'well jell' of the Foos concert! On my running iPod list along with acdc and the Prodigy. Ran out of time yesterday so only fitted a short run in- was planning to do Insanity but plasterer foiled that. 6 mile run this morning. Great weather for it- not too hot or too windy!

We are going to dinner at friends tonight and I think quite a bit of wine may be drunk..., Depending on quite how much gets drunk, dH and I may do NMTZ tomorrow.

Keep up the good work all.

sweetkitty · 24/08/2012 13:00

Greedy girl - enjoy FooFighters

Dawnpreview - you must be fitter than me then level 2 killed me

Jellybelly - well done you should be proud of yourself.

Well Day 2 of Level 2 here, was dripping with sweat, I am rubbish at plank position, I pulled the same muscle on my left inner thigh when I did the first set of abs, strange one there, it stings like its on fire but then is ok if I keep going. think I will be Anita for ah long while.

dawnpreview · 24/08/2012 14:17

Sweetkitty- I don't feel fit at all. I was barely keeping up with Anita, and did have to stop a couple of times for a few seconds. I am still sore now, my arms and legs are absolutely killing me!

sweetkitty · 24/08/2012 14:34

I start with Natalie but resort back to Anita! Yes to aching arms, not as bad as Days 2 & 3 though.

dawnpreview · 24/08/2012 17:03

What size weights do you use sweetkitty? I have only got 2kg ones, and I think I need something smaller for at least some of the exercises.

sweetkitty · 24/08/2012 17:40

I think mine are 1.5kg! They are tough enough just now. I've not done any exercise in abut 10 years so am finding it tough but am enjoying it. Might even be able to do a minute of plank jacks one day Grin

threestepsforward · 24/08/2012 18:45

Ooo greedygirl, I am also Envy, have a fab time!

I got an MP3 player for my birthday and have been listening to my entire CD collection on shuffle, a very nostalgic pastime! I love technology!

I did a double shred today, levels 1 & 3 with highest weights 2.5 kg and lowest 1.5 kg.

OUCH! I haven't Shredded/Ripped for a few weeks and ow, it really hurts! Everything is aching in a good way, I'd forgotten that feeling!

I am signing off now until around the 4th so happy JM'ing everyone!

See you all in a week or so Smile

I have just done level 1 day 2. I still have my note book from 2 years ago when I worked all my way through and aim to do the whole damn thing again.

My inches lost the first time were
1 inch from each upper arm
1 inch from bust ( I would have liked more )
2 inches from waist
3 inches from hips
1 inch from each thigh

This is spurring me on.
I found keeping a note book and writing down how each day went was a graet motivator.

Good luck to all who are doing it .

I am going to a wedding in 4 weeks and feel so out of condition and there will be a huge ceilidh so need to get my energy levels up so I can keep up with the young one ( by which I mean under 30s )

dawnpreview · 25/08/2012 09:17

Aaaaaaargh! Just done day 2, level 2 shred. I was already sore when I got up after yesterday's workout, now I can barely move to type this! Had to stop during some of the cardio, but did manage to follow Natalie in the plank jacks- although probably a bit slower than her!
If anyone wants me, I will be curled up in the corner groaning to myself :)

dawnpreview · 25/08/2012 09:19

Meant to say, trumpton- that sounds like good inch loss from your last time shredding. Good idea to keep notes as well.

mrssmooth · 25/08/2012 18:03

Have had to take some time out of shredding as we're moving house. Hope to get back into it next week tho, have to say i have missed it but just dont have the time (not to mention the space coz of all the boxes!) Catch u later ladies, keep on going!

notyummy · 25/08/2012 20:43

Hope you have recovered now Dawn!

To my shame DH and I were too hungover to contemplate anything more than a 2 mile stroll with dd Blush. So NMTZ tomorrow instead then.....

sweetkitty · 25/08/2012 21:38

Day 3 of Level 2, stopped a fair bit, am hating all the plank positions, my arms are so weak. Hoping I do better when I'm less hormonal.

GinFilth · 25/08/2012 22:07

Hello to everyone!

Ok. I have the Shred DVD, 9 weeks until my wedding, and really shit knees. Every time I've shredded in the past my knees have become agonisingly painful after doing those bloody jumping jacks. I bought knee braces, which helped me do another week before they became agonisingly painful again.

What can I do that doesn't involve impact but is oh so cardio? In the time that the jumping jacks take?

McPie · 25/08/2012 22:08

I have been out of this shred game for a very, very long time! The kids are back in school and I have been able to fit in 4 of each of the levels this week and next week I will do my 60 second promise dvd.
I am now on a Counterweight plan with my nurse and for the first time I have actually lost weight, 3lb in my first 2 1/2 weeks, and I am eating more than I ever did before. I have loads of energy and I can make the plan fit in with my stupid body's dislikes so feel like Im not missing out on anything.

McPie · 25/08/2012 22:17

GinFilth I do one sided jumping jacks as my knees cant handle the proper ones or before I used to just jog on the spot for the 30 seconds, my theory is that if I keep moving all's good.

fretfree · 26/08/2012 11:14

Hi everyone - well, after a gap of about six days due to injury (but I did do some exercise during that period :)), I went back to 30DS yesterday and today was day 2. All ok, although I am only using a weight in my left hand for the final strength exercise (front raises whilst going side to side). So glad to be back in the saddle.

McPie - I have the same philosophy: just do what you can and it does get better / easier. Just make sure you don't overdo it (like I did :(), as injury can really mess up your plans.

Dawn - we started on the same day originally, so I am looking at you now for inspiration, as well as slight horror at the exercises ahead :). I have just finished day 9, so in theory one more day of level 1 before i move to level 2. However, I have physio/osteo tomorrow and should not really do much the day after so I think I will wait a while before moving up. Sweetkitty - I am also watching your progress with interest. L2 sound hard!

Well done Trumpton on the inch loss! I haven't taken measurements, but i have a wardrobe of pre-pregnancy clothes to act as my guide (i also have pre-trying to conceive, which means about an extra 5 kg to lose)

Notyummy - remember that rest days mean you come back stronger (as well as reassuring us you are human after all Grin)

trumpton · 26/08/2012 13:12

fretfree Thank you on the "well done " but that was 2 years ago and I fear I have slipped all the way back up hence starting again ! I hope to get down and stay down this time .

gypsyfloss · 26/08/2012 15:37

Back to my real love of 6wk6pack today with added weights on the lying down exercises; followed by a very, very small run. I haven't run for years but felt inspired by the music I had on whilst Jillianing and Greedygirl's trip to see delicious Dave :) It all felt great and more importantly didn't make my knees and hip ache like Body revolution sadly does each time.

sweetkitty · 26/08/2012 20:10

day 4 level 2, shoulders aching, still can't do it all even Anita!

Will keep on going though, do you just go up to level 3 at this rate I'll never get there if level 2s anything to go by.

gypsyfloss · 26/08/2012 20:26

sweetkitty it'll get better I promise. I started doing the the Shred in Dec and it took a good while for my shoulders to gain some muscle. I used to feel like I'd trapped a nerve and would wake up with a dead arm on a regular basis. Keep going...each day you're getting stronger. And the consensus seems to be that the leap from level 1 to 2 is greater than that from 2 to 3. You can move on up whenever you feel ready- which might be when you're bored of L2 rather than when you can do it all easily.

GinniferAndTonic · 27/08/2012 09:33

Wow, some amazing results you have there!

I didn't really measure myself properly when I started, only hips and (high) waist. Weight according to unreliable scales at my parents. I have lost a little from the waist, but jeans etc. feel the same as they did before. However, something quite funny happened the other day: my fingers found a hard bump against my ribcage, and me being me, I freaked out, immediately imagining some unnatural growth or tumor. But then I felt the opposite side, found the same thing and it dawned on me it's the beginnings of a sixpack! The lower parts are still hiding under the muffin top, but... I have abs! It's definitely happening!!

Day 27 today and I went back to level 2. For me it's the best level to get really satisfyingly sweaty - I sweat very little normally so for me it's a sign that things are happening. I have some lower back issues that haven't really bothered me for a long time, but it seems level 3 is bringing out some warning signs, I suspect it's the superman. Also my puny weights are so small that my hands do not fit under them in that leg lift wotsit towards the end. Must get some new ones, I think I'm ready for them... Smile

fretfree · 27/08/2012 11:41

Hi all. Sweetkitty hang in there. I am guessing I will know exactly how you feel in the not too distant future. Ginniferandtonic - I'm the same on the shoulders. Very weak - and I've had to drop the weight on my RHS after injury. But managed L1 again this morning - even felt like I'm getting better at (modified) press ups. I also went for a 3 1/2 trek through the forest yesterday afternoon carrying 6.2 kg LO in a sling :).

Moving up to L2 soon :)
