Body Rev week 1 workout 2 done, followed by a spectacular arse over tit moment in the bathroom. Now that's going to hurt tomorrow....and tomorrow is a full on cardio session. Oh joy Grin

I agree about the stretching...it does seem be lacking in quite a lot of Jm stuff. The ones at the end of Body Rev are really short so I have been adding my own in.

Hope everyone has a lovely sunshiney day. Did your dvd arrive Mamabear?

Hi all! Some great work going on here. I did NMTZ yesterday with DH and went for a 6 mile run first thing this morning. Had to get it in before it got too hot. Was mostly lovely- blue skies, running through woods etc......until I fell in the mud and coated myself! Ah well.

Hi, I didn't do the shred yesterday but did an hour of cardio at the gym and caught L1 ripped on the fitness channel so attempted that.

I got weighted today and I've lost just over a pound since I started but my body fat is less than 20% for the first time in ten years! Was going to have a day off today but now I feel like I want to carry on - if I write it on here I'll have to do it!

Good news xelliex it's great to see a change to encourage you to keep on going.

Oh dear notyummy :( glad you got your run in before the heat though.

Its arrived!! Watched level 1 with hubby this morning and he said that he thought that it looked 'straight forward' which is hubby talk for easy. I agree that the exercises look fairly simple but I can see that it is going to be tough! Will be breaking it out tonight once dd is in bed - will let you know if I survive!

Good luck mammabear! Not yummy - well done on the run. I can't wait to get to the stage where I can add in bike rides and runs and not totally overdo it

I've finally bought some real weights, not used them yet but nearly pulled a muscle reversing out the car park as some kind person had parked really close to me, I have a parking disability and a huge car (4DC).

Mamabear - I found Day 1 ok, cardio was a bit hard but it was ok, the next day I was in agony though.

Report
SpringGoddess · 18/08/2012 18:41

Have pulled a shoulder muscle, so I'm taking a rest from Ripped and consentrating on running for a week or so. Just bought heavier weights too, slightly peeved that any meagre progress I've made on my push ups will start to erode.
How's everyone coping with exercising in this heat? I'm off for an 8k run first thing otherwise I think I might die!

No DVDs for me today. Took the kids to thetford forest and cycled for hours.
My dd nearly keeled over with the heat.
Fun though. Grin

Just completed my first workout - leve 1 The Shred. I LOVED IT!!! I am shaky and I know I will ache tomorrow but it felt manageable - tough - but I managed to complete all of the moves except the second set of push ups (which I did the beginners way). I am now quietly confident that I will be able to give it a bit more ooomph tomorrow as I held back to start with fearing what was to come. Ooomph that is, if I can move! My legs feel like jelly but this is the first workout I have done at high intensity since I got pregnant 20 months ago! Im sweating! I think im on an endorphin high! Grin

Grin mamabear glad you enjoyed it!!

Day 6 here first day with proper weights so expect the bingo wings will ache tomorrow, calves don't ache so much side of knees still sore though.

Well done mammabear!! What a great feeling. Sweet kitty - how did it go with proper weights? Spring goddess - poor you. I've also over done it with the shoulder raises (final strength exercise from L1 30ds was the culprit for me). I already feel better compared to yesterday evening so hopefully just one day off might do it. I plan to go for a bike ride instead. I just hope I haven't left it too late re the heat!

Have been doing 30DS for about 5 weeks now, I definitely look slimmer and a bit more toned....yet despite dieting and sticking to no more than about 1700 calories a day I haven't lost any weight, in fact I am about 2lbs heavier than when I started, so I wanted to ask if its possible to gain weight with the shred while still losing inches?

I should have measured myself at the start but I didn't :( really wish I had now.

Report
fretfree · 19/08/2012 12:52

I think that muscle is supposed to be 30% heavier than fat, so yes you can tone up and still stay the same weight.

Day 7 L1 30 DS I still struggle a wee bit with the first round of cardio, arms not too bad, I'm only using light weights though, DD2 done it with me today, she's only 6.

Went down the park and walked for over an hour, half of that carrying DS, arms hurt now, he's a big chunky 2 yo .

Report
notyummy · 19/08/2012 16:59

Yes you can lose inches and gain weight. Time of the month? Tbh it is unlikely in that amount of time you will have put in 2lbs in muscle unless you are lifting 20kg weights and drinking lots of protein shakes!! Are you using MFP? I know a lot of people recommend it.

I went for another run this morning at my parents and got lost so did 1 hr 15 mins instead of 45 mins Shock. At least I justified my piece of cake thus afternoon!

Body Revolution phase 1 cardio done this morning. I hate fast feet and I'm beginning to hate Jillain as well Grin .I think I might need to schedule in 2 breaks a week. I'm finding this fun but very intensive and my left hip is slightly uncomfortable ; I shall see how much I ache in the morning .

The second day of 30ds was so much harder than the first! I wasnt too achy this morning but I am now!! I can see how you get results in thirty days - no time for recovery! Feel very virtuous now that I have done it though. Thanks for all of the support, this thread is very motivational x

Good evening all!

Welcome mamabear! The aches over the first few days are completely normal! Stick with it and stick with us, we'll keep you motivated Smile

Gypsy keep us posted on Body Revolution, I love hearing about new stuff, programmes etc.

I took Friday and Saturday off and was supposed to do something today but I slept weirdly last night and I've done my neck in. I have to turn my whole body round to look behind me, like an old lady! I'm hoping I'll be better and ready to go tomorrow...

Went to a bbq last night and while I came off relatively unscathed, DP has about 50 massive mozzie bites on him... They are unbelievable! I made a special trip to boots today to stock up on repellent, little buggers!

Hope everyone is doing ok. Mammabear - keep at it!!! Not yummy

  • cake definitely justified.

My shoulder is still playing up. I am really angry about it. It's not like I was being stupid: only 1kg weights!! I'm planning on going up into the hills today to go walking with the LO in a sling and escape the heat. He weighs about 6kg so that should help the campaign!!

Oh Blimey . . . !

Finished Level 1 on Sat, did first Day of Level 2 this morning.

What's happened?

Level 2 used to be the easiest one for me . . . 'twas my favourite. Am knackered! And I was "doing Anita" if you pardon the expression.

Only got 28 out of 30 too Sad

Am hoping it's down to the humidity . . . ?

Me too Balloon. My arms feel like dead weights now!! But I did enjoy it though, despite getting so hot and sweaty! BTW, how does the scoring system work?
