Still here just on recovery week which is a nice rest for my muscles! Looking forward to getting stuck into month two of insanity..know the next week will be hard and I'll have to push myself..will no doubt be letting you know about that next week!

threestepsforward · 19/10/2012 21:01

Evening all!

Great reading up on all the good work going on. Seems to get a bit harder to get motivated when it starts getting darker and colder.

I feel like I've lost hours in each day and am struggling to keep up with work and all the rest day-to-day. I am pleased to say though I've not slacked on JM. I am picking shorter workouts though, and am currently on day 3 of L2 Ripped.

Phewie, I'm aching all over again! Never fails to amaze me lol

Hope everyone is well Smile

Morning everyone. I'm back, climbing out of the depths of a new uni year, juggling life and eating far too many choc fingers whilst ostensibly studying :)
Haven't gained any weight but def feel more flabby so I started back with 6w6p yesterday . God I love that DVD , even one session makes me feel so much better. I'm planning to exercise 4 days /wk, getting up at 5.30 to do it on the weekdays . Hopefully on Sundays I can have a little lie in.

Glad to see everyone is plodding on doing well :)

MrsVincentPrice · 20/10/2012 08:11

Hi chaps. Ex Shred/Ripped/6W6P dabbler experiencing a certain amount of tummy flab which requires correction so I'm going on a Pre-Christmas Shredathon. Have done quite a lot of it in the past but never got up to Level 3 of anything, so my goal is to achieve Level 3 Shred and Level 4 Ripped before Xmas.

Started last night with Level 1 Ripped and realised that I've pretty much lost the ability to do big girl press-ups so it's going to be a long tough November.

threestepsforward · 21/10/2012 11:10

Welcome MrsVincentPrice Smile

You've timed it perfectly! You'll easily get through both Shred and Ripped by Christmas and will be fabulously Shredded and Ripped for the festive season!

Good luck!

welcome MrsVP, keep going everyone else. Busy week work wise here so have just managed 3 double Rippeds and nothing in between. Bit of a disaster really and can't see this week being much better. My arms & legs are toned but I still can't shift the tummy flab. Looks like diet is going to be the only way forward. Noooooooo.

notyummy · 21/10/2012 18:21

Welcome back to the fold MrsVP! Keep at it Chocolate - it will make a difference.

DH and I did NMTZ yesterday and then a double shred/ripped today. Phew. L2 Shred and L3 Ripped. A gentle plod on the crosstrainer tomorrow I think before I possibly face Insanity on Tuesday (depending on how back is.)

GeekLove · 21/10/2012 23:44

Hello
For me it is an achievement if I can do at least 3 full Shreds a week. I alternate between lvl 2 and 3. I am definately getting Ripped next since Shread is getting a bit boring.
But I am now under 65kg! According to the wii fit. Hopefully try and keep it up. NMTZ is good for travelling since it is body's eight only.
My next challenge -keep it up when AF is in town.

GeekLove · 21/10/2012 23:48

Please note folks who are finding it hard to lose the flab I losing weight at less than 1lb a month net - I will be gaini g weight only less fast than my losses but overall I am losing weight. With Shred and other exercise you have a goal other than weight loss to focus on- you are on a hiding to nothing of weight loss is your only goal.
For instance I can do chin ups and handle the 3kg solid metal mortar at work one-handed when I need to empty it. Couldn't to either 6months ago.

Happypiglet · 22/10/2012 12:30

Back on L4 Ripped again today....it's getting a bit dull I find the second two circuits very arms heavy on the strength side.... Think I will move on shortly. Back to shred I think. But not til after our holiday over half term next week. Off to Florida to Disney world... Lots of walking but probably a really bad diet!!

CHST · 22/10/2012 13:51

did day one of month 2 insanity and OMG it is insane....month 1 workouts are 40 ish minutes each, month 2 60ish. I hope my body adapts quickly as it was so tiring! I think it definitely is about pushing yourself mentally in month 2 and am definitely going to have to up the kcals for this month else I just won't have the energy to do it.
Welcome Mrs VP!
Keep going everyone

threestepsforward · 24/10/2012 13:22

Wow, CHST! I salute all you insanity people, it sounds rough!!

Have just finished 7 days of L2 Ripped and am going to do Killer buns and thighs for the rest of the week. I'm getting hooked on that lovely achey feeling you get after doing a workout you haven't done for a while!!

Hope everyone's doing well. Keep going keep going [hsmile]

xelliex · 25/10/2012 10:05

I'm really 'plodding' with level 3 ripped now, I can't seem to get motivated in the same way I was with shred. Think I've done it about 7 times but I'm not doing it daily and don't feel ready to move onto the next level. I can't say I'm seeing any results so I started doing a few circuits of NMTZs afterwards but then I couldn't get the dvd to play on tuesday and was even more demotivated.

I will do some Jillian today!

notyummy · 25/10/2012 12:03

Xelliex - I don't think L4 is that much harder so worth just giving a go? There is one really tough cardio bit, but apart from that a similar level to 3 i think.

I did L4 this morning actually! Nothing yesterday. 5 mile run on Tuesday and only time for a quick tabata session on the crosstrainer on Monday. Longer run tomorrow. I still cant muster up the strength for Month 2 Insanity - well done for your efforts CHST. For me it is a mixture of finding the time for the longer workouts, a twinging back that I am protective of, and a real need to keep running (for workouts of 45 mins and over) as I find getting out in the freh air is really good for my mood long term.

VenetiaLanyon · 25/10/2012 12:32

Hello all! All of NMTZ for the first time today Smile; think I'm going to feel it tomorrow...

gingercat12 · 25/10/2012 12:34

After 40 days I finished Ripped, and started Killer Buns. I agree with threesteps that it is very invigorating if you have not done it for a while. I remember how much easier L1 is than L2 and L3, but I can feel my thighs aching [hgrin]. I had to get up 10 minutes early, as Killer is a bit longer, but it was all worth it.

I saw there is a Killer Abs now. Wonder what it is like.

threestepsforward · 26/10/2012 09:18

Morning all!

Keep going Xelliex! I know exactly what you mean btw. I've never had the "Pow" impact that Shred had from any other workout. I think it's because that was the first proper workout I'd done for years, so the transformation was much more obvious than from doing later stuff.

Don't forget though how far you've come (you're on Level 3 Ripped!!!). I agree with notyummy - I'd go for L4 Smile

2 days of Killer Thighs (are you aching too Gingercat? Grin) I did L1 and then L2 yesterday. I am far redder and far more puffed after Killer than I am after Shred and/or Ripped, weird...

Well done Venetia with NMTZ (I think that's one of my least favourite of hers as it hurts!)

Not much time today so will be hopefully squeezing a Shred or a Ripped in later.

Hope everyone has a great weekend [hsmile]

SugariceAndScary · 26/10/2012 11:06

Morning all, can I join please?

This morning I had to lie down on the bed to zip up my freshly washed jeans. [hblush].

The muffin top had also invited cheesecake, toffee crisps and lemon drizzle cake to take up residence judging by the wobble that lurched over the top of the jeans!

I have been out and purchased leggings, a top and Jillian's 30 day Shred and after changing, having water and typing this .............I am going in, cover me!

See you on the other side.

SugariceAndScary · 26/10/2012 11:44

Well I came out the other side, puce faced and my thighs feel very wobbly.

I have trouble with my jumping jacks [pelvic floor issues] but otherwise I feel fine, am reasonably fit due to frequent walking but I need more intense exercise.

How often should I do this each week?

gingercat12 · 26/10/2012 14:05

Welcome SugariceAndScary! [hsmile] I think Jillian recommends 1-2 rest days a week. I know the feeling about pelvic floors. It spurs me on to do Kegels.
Hope you are all right. My first time last December was very traumatic. In fact I had to give it up until January, as my knees gave up. But now it gets much easier very quickly.

threesteps My thighs hurt so much. "And it is only L1!" [imagine Jillian jeering] I love Killer. I can't wait to start 6W6P afterwards though.

SugariceAndScary It is very addictive.

SugariceAndScary · 26/10/2012 14:21

Only 1-2 rest days [hshock].

Dear God, she'll kill me and only Level 1. Oh well, no pain no gain and all that. If when I'm aching tomorrow should I still do it?

notyummy · 26/10/2012 17:22

Go on Sugar - tis 'only' 20 mins - and very motivational when you start seeing improvements in what you can do, and how you look.

Well, I finally did all of the max interval circuit of Month 2 Insanity. all 59 minutes or whatever it is. Pretty tiring!! There were a couple of sequences that I was really struggling to finish. Not sure if you found the same CHST? That nasty one involving moguls, press-up jacks, squat thrusts and crow press-ups (4 of each, double time - and repeat) just about finished me off! Pleased I did it though. NMTZ tomorrow. Short(ish) run on Sunday as I expect to be hungover and perhaps the month 2 Plyo Insanity on Monday - what's that like?

CHST · 26/10/2012 20:32

notyummy the month two is such a step up, particularly after the recovery week. Yeah that ski abs, plank push ups, in and out abs and oblique push ups is a bugger...can do it all through the first time, but struggle second and third time through. The high knees with twist I find hard in the second circuit.

Max plyo is a bitch...seriously...expect your shoulders to fall off.
There are squat push ups in the first circuit where you start in a squat fall onto your hands on the floor and then push yourself back up into a squat position.
There is also power push ups where you start in a push up position, go down and power yourself back onto your feet and then back down into push up position. It is crazy and then at the end when your quads are killing from all the squats and power jumps and your shoulders falling off, youve got the full body drills..16 push ups and 16 mountain climbers twice through..nice...and I really struggled!
It is a whole different level.
I find the warm up in the second month easier than the first workouts what about you?

notyummy · 26/10/2012 20:53

Yes- I think he's trying to make sure you have something left in the rank for later!

notyummy · 27/10/2012 23:34

NMTZ today. Felt hard after my efforts yesterday! Short run tomorrow.
