Hungover today after too much to eat and drink last night! Dh and I usually do NMTZ on a Saturday but neither of us could face it today. Did L4 Ripped which I actually quite like and was quite enough on its own for two hungover people! Did 8.5 miles yesterday and in this heat it felt hard. The last mile I got a calf cramp and my lower back started twinging.

NMTZ tomorrow!

catgirl · 08/09/2012 21:27

my dvd finally arrived yesterday - I planing on getting out of bed at 6am Monday morning .....is it really 20 mins or does I need to add warm up/cool down to that - never been good at sticking to dvd exercise (or any exercise to be honest!) .... I am telling you all so that if I don't get out of bed I will feel really guilty - does that make sense?? so tomorrow evening really organised about packed lunches, clothes set out etc.... wish me luck! I have to say that reading all your posts is very encouraging to a newbie like me - thank you Smile

jan2011 · 09/09/2012 08:01

im ashamed to say i haven't done my dvd for a month now, or been to the gym, or done any form of exercise. things have been hard with my dd (lack of sleep) and ive been stressed and exhausted. i was using that as an excuse, but i figure if i get fit anyway even though im so tired, it will help me cope with it all. so even if its awful the first few weeks ill feel much more able to cope with the lack of sleep and stress because ill be fitter...does that make sense, or should you leave getting fit til you are more rested?

anyway i am fed up of feeling like a slob, so when baby goes to her ex a few hours today i am planning on getting my dusty ripped in 30. and i have a bike so before i put it away for the winter, i want to be fit enough to go for a few cycles!

jan2011 · 09/09/2012 08:01

catgirl did you get out of bed and do your dvd? lol

catgirl · 09/09/2012 08:57

tomorrow Jan tomorrow lol - can put it off for another day!

sweetkitty · 09/09/2012 09:31

Catgirl - I am so not a morning person, there is no way I could get out of bed and do a DVD at 6am, my body does not function at that time. I tend to do it after nursery run/before lunch, I'm a SAHM though so that's helps. DD3 and DS usually do it with me too, they have tiny weights too.

I've never timed it but would say its about 25 mins all in. I do a few extra stretches at the end though.

I had a huge 3 course meal last night and cocktails, feeling stuffed this morning now. My thighs and knees ache a bit from the jumping lunges and my shoulders too. I seem to be achy most days but then still have to do the Shred, the plan is another 3 days of the shred then a day off then start Ripped. DH is going to try Total Abs.

MegBusset · 09/09/2012 15:37

Sweetkitty I am the same height/size as you and also really struggle to get below 9st. I have accepted that's my natural minimum weight and will be happy to stick at that. I had crept up to 9st 9lb over the summer, and my clothes weren't fitting comfortably. I have been using MFP and got down to 9st 3lb, now the kids are back at school I'm hoping the extra time to exercise will shift the last 3lb.

Done Shred L1 D2 today. Am starting couch to 5k tomorrow so will prob shred 3x week, run 3x week and 1 rest day. That's the plan anyway...!

ihatethecold · 09/09/2012 17:05

megbusset and sweetkitty , can i ask?
if you are on MFP, what the calories you are allowed each day and are you eating your exercise cals.

im 5ft 3 and weigh 10st. before my second and third child i was alot lighter (prob due to being skint and having no car)

i have been shredding and ripping for 6 weeks now and have lost body fat and look a lot slimmer BUT i cannot lose a single pound in weight!
im on 1200 cals a day and always eat my exercise cals as im hungry if i don't.

sorry for waffling but was curious as id love to back at 9 st

BalloonSlayer · 09/09/2012 17:50

Day 6 Level 3 done. Phew!

I don't do the jumping lunges the Natalie way as last time they buggered my knees . . . but my knees are starting to hurt anyway Sad

I think this is why I didn't like Level 3.

Re the weight thing - are any of you still breastfeeding?

pickofthepops · 09/09/2012 17:53

Just bought 30 day .. Doing a Bootcamp twice a week and boxing on a weekend ... Think Gillian does similar to our Bootcamp which is a toughy. Keen to get on better shape for it as literally cannot
Love after the summer holidays away from Bootcamp. Do burpees get easier?

MegBusset · 09/09/2012 18:02

I am on 1200 and no I try not to eat all the exercise cals. Are you active the rest of the day - I walk to school (20 mins round trip) 3x a day and that helps too, I am about to start running too as although fab for toning, I don't think it will shift loads by itself.

I have also drastically reduced alcohol consumption which I think is making a big impact.

MegBusset · 09/09/2012 18:23

*don't think Shredding will shift loads by itself

xelliex · 09/09/2012 20:54

Feeling guilty as I've not done any exercise for two days now and unless I get up early tomorrow that'll be another day off.

Worse I've put on nearly 3 pounds so I should be more motivated not less! Weird thing is though my scales are saying my body fat has gone down - I'd like to think I'd put on some muscle but realistically I have not put on 3 pounds of muscle...I'm annoyed with myself as I only had about 5 pounds to lose and just as I'm getting there I go and pig out!

sweetkitty · 09/09/2012 22:30

I'm on 1200 cals and have to eat my exercise cals too as I'm always hungry.

I'm also very active never really sit down during the day, always doing something housework wise, walking or playing with the DC.

Really struggled with getting motivated today was very tired after a late night out but did Day 8 of Level 3.

notyummy · 10/09/2012 09:01

Well done for overcoming the tiredness and doing L3 Sweetkitty.

I am bit achy after a long run Friday (followed by lots to drink in the evening...), a Ripped on Saturday and NMTZ yesterday. Plan to run today, but probably only a 5 miler as my calf is playing up, and have a day off tomorrow.

xelliex · 10/09/2012 11:12

Did level 3 shred this morning, and changed MFP cals to 1000 per day. Think I need to be stricter with myself.

catgirl · 10/09/2012 13:13

well I got up at 6am and did my first day Grin - how chuffed do I feel?! legs achy but I can live with that. Just as I thought I couldn't do anymore the exercises changed.... phew! only thing is I don't have any weights so when I get those my arms will probably ache too!

jan2011 · 10/09/2012 13:55

well done catgirl! im going to start this afternoon promise!

sweetkitty · 10/09/2012 14:26

Well done Catgirl, I starting with soup tins :)

Think I'm day 8 or maybe day 9 will have to go check. Actually felt lightheaded afterwards but I had only had a cereal bar and 2 stolen cookies from DS all day so would have been calorie negative. I so struggle with dieting.

sweetkitty · 10/09/2012 14:27

Think I'm actually day 8 only two more days then I can have a rest (for a Day)

Happypiglet · 10/09/2012 14:44

Well done cat girl! I did Ripped L1 again today after having to have the weekend off to recover from doing it on Thurs and Fri last week. My hamstrings were in agony. Let's hope it is not as bad tomorrow.

catgirl · 10/09/2012 16:22

thanks ladies - so is 'ripped' after 'shread' then? will see how knackered I am tonight once kids in bed, but hope to do same tomorrow and soon it will be habit - although slept very badly last night, kept waking up thinking my alarm hadn't gone off!! Soup tins a good idea - hadn't thought of that - will give that a go tomorrow.

catgirl · 10/09/2012 18:19

sweetkitty - I struggle with dieting too - have very little will power.....

gingercat12 · 10/09/2012 19:26

Why is it that I can do BFBM from beginning to the end (although not very gracefully), while in Ripped in 30 - especially mountain-climbers combined with plank jack, and the plank thrusts - I just have to rest. Aaaaaargh.

I am dieting, but not really losing weight. I can see my thighs getting much thinner though. My exercise shorts are a bit baggy now and they were tight-fitting.

DS recently proposed to me (he is 4). He was quite crest-fallen when I told him I was married to his Daddy. He thinks it is wrong. Anyway, his chat-up line was "Mommy, your arms like the Hulk's!" Grin I think it was meant to be a compliment, as he can see me exercise every day. Jillian would be so proud...

xelliex · 10/09/2012 22:36

Gingercat I would love to get slimmer thighs, I think if you can see your are getting smaller it doesn't really matter what the scale says.

catgirl I started with soup tins then switched to water bottles when they felt too light, you'll be surprised how quickly your strength improves.
