I see from Facebook that Jillian is going back to Biggest Loser.

McPie · 05/09/2012 17:05

I was at the nurse for my weigh in yesterday and was sure I hadn't lost much as I have upped my excercise since the kids went back to school and in the past thats worked against me.
I lost 2.6kg in 3 weeks woohoo Smile and hit my first goal in 6 weeks.
Since I started with my food plan on the 24th july I have lost 4kg and 5kg since I first visited the nurse on the 30th may which is a massive surprise to me as I am eating way more than ever before.
I have done 1 week of double shred (x6) then a week of 60 second promise (x5) and this week I am doing all three shred levels one day and 60 second promise the next.

3monkeys · 05/09/2012 20:17

Did some Bob programme that I recorded from fitness channel tonight and really enjoyed the change. DD was fab and cheered me on!! And 6w6p arrived today so will try that tomorrow

sweetkitty · 05/09/2012 20:48

Extreme Shred now that's scares me

Day 3 of Level 3 here managed to squeeze it in despite v busy day. Trying to be a bit more Natalie and less Anita, sumo squats ouch, rock star jumps cannot do them at all, travelling push ups. Where does that woman get these things from?

Nolda · 05/09/2012 21:58

Well done on the weight loss McPie. That's one exercise regime you've got going there!

notyummy · 06/09/2012 08:15

Am pleased that Jillain is rejoining BL!

Well done on that weight loss McPie! That is a hard core regime - don't do yourself an injury. What is 60 second promise?

I did Insanity - Cardio Power and Resistance - last night. Tough as usual, but not the hardest of the routines. Soon I will finished all of the month one workouts (which I have taken more than a month to do as I am still doing NMTZ and running as well.) I then move on to month two, which I think is even harder.

Walkingchloe · 06/09/2012 09:23

Did day 2 of level 1 shred yesterday and can feel it in my legs and shoulders today. Enjoying it though, let's hope it makes a difference! Definitely more Anita than Natalie, particularly the press ups which kill me!

What is Insanity?

McPie · 06/09/2012 10:22

60 second promise is 4 10 min workouts where you do one move for 60 seconds then another harder one for 45 seconds then get a 15 second rest and repeat for the 10 mins.
I can do the 1st one and be dripping in sweat and drowning in it by the 4th one Grin.
I am being careful with my warm ups and cool downs but its not really that much different time wise than if I was in a class or at the gym and I dont have to feel stupid in front of others if I cant finish a full section.
I find it no problem doing all 3 shred levels as I enjoy them. I am over the moon to have it all working for me as have been trying to shift weight for years and have normally stayed at the same weight even when I was doing 4 shred levels a day!
The fact that I have been told what I can eat has made a huge difference to my energy levels and I have to be eating twice what I was last year and I was getting nowhere. So I'm an eat more, move more sucess so the nurse tells me Smile and if the weight loss stops she can review my allowances and her charts tell her what I have to drop.

notyummy · 06/09/2012 10:45

60 second promise looks good! Have bookmarked.

This is Insanity... I was lucky enough to get it free.

Happypiglet · 06/09/2012 11:09

Right.... I have not been on this thread since July as I have totally failed to do any JM (except for one session) while the DC were off school. Blush
I am too ashamed to read the rest of this thread as I will feel even more inferior.
However....surprisingly it has not done me too much harm. 2pounds on and still look ok ish. I was quite active with the kids except when I sat on my arse for nearly two weeks glued to the Olympics .... Plus there are some passable shots of me in a bikini in France!!!
I did Ripped L1 today when I had dropped off kids to their first day back. I need to get back to what I was doing pre hols ie 5 times a week with at least 2 longer sessions but I can already feel my thighs tightening up!
Hi to everyone it feels good to be back!

Walkingchloe · 06/09/2012 12:49

Wow notyummy Insanity looks hardcore but good though. Might see if I can stick to shred and maybe ripped too and then treat myself to Insanity as a reward if I prove to myself I can stick to a programme at home and make a difference. Thanks for the link!

xelliex · 06/09/2012 12:55

Checking in as I feel like I've been slacking off since I officially finished shred. I did levels 2 and 3 yesterday after doing nothing on monday and tuesday, and eating terribly the past week!!!

sweetkitty · 06/09/2012 15:33

Day 4 Level 3 here, this had better be doing some good. Been good on fitness pal as well, I only need to lose 7 little pounds, why is it so hard?

GinniferAndTonic · 07/09/2012 10:11

Ended up doing nothing for a whole week and incidentally I fear this is indicative of what the coming months will be like now that work is picking up. I also haven't got round to ordering another dvd so today I went back to Shred. Did Level 1 just in case I had to start from zero again, but luckily that was not the case - it was mostly easy-peasy. Smile I added weights to jumping jacks, punches etc. and did Natalie for everything except the pushups, and even there I managed a couple of proper ones before switching to Anita. So different to how it was just five weeks ago.

This is all so worth it. I don't think I have been super hard on myself either. I push myself but not too hard, if I can't do something then I don't. Likewise with diet, I make conscious choices but don't feel guilty for the odd treat. This approach works for me: it doesn't feel too difficult yet I can see results that keep me motivated.

Happypiglet · 07/09/2012 10:16

Well aching badly from yesterday this always happens when I have anything longer than a week off!
Pushed through it and did L1 Ripped again felt harder than yesterday but that is because of my achy muscles!

threestepsforward · 07/09/2012 11:59

Hello all!
Back from Scotland on Sunday, had a fab time Smile
But, not done a thing since being back as we've had people in doing damp repairs. The hard work starts today!

Will be running through Shred again and then mixing it up with some Turbofire and 60 minute promise I think (thanks for recommendation McPie - great to see you back Smile)

Only skim read but everyone sounds like they are doing fab!

Will check in later after my first Shred after a long break...

OP posts:
MegBusset · 07/09/2012 12:50

Hello, I am back on the Shred after having a break over summer (and putting on half a stone in chips and ice cream!). Have started back at L1 but think I'll be on L2 after a week.

Those who use MFP, what do you put Shred in under exercise?

sweetkitty · 07/09/2012 13:34

Day 5 of level 3 and also weigh in day, have lost a bit fat zero, that needle refuses to budge from dead on 9 stone. I know 9 stone seems ok and it's a BMI of about 22-23 but I don't feel right. It's where I carry it, I'm barely 5 foot4 and have tiny skinny shoulders, arms and calves, all the weight is around my bum and hips, bit on stomach. My legs look like two peoples spliced together. I know people say its muscle turning to fat and it weighs more but I can't see any huge differences in my body shape, maybe a bit less tummy and thighs, I have another 5 days before the tape test.

I'm trying to stick to 1200 cals on MFP, oh I add Shred under circuit training general 20 mins, that gives 152 cals.

Welcome back to all the returners, I'm a Jillian virgin, never did any exercise until I started shredding 25 days ago!

Happypiglet · 07/09/2012 20:43

Can Not Walk..... OMG I was a JM 'pro' and after 6 weeks off I am incapable!!! Argggg

Greedygirl · 07/09/2012 21:21

I am like you Ginnifer - worried that work is going to take over. First proper week back at work and only managed 2 Ripped level3 and one run. Better than nothing I suppose. I really need to do it first thing.

Level 3 if Ripped is HARD!! My triceps have been really sore (that was after one time!). I was sweating buckets tonight. And then I have had a bucket of red wine and some pizza. Dry September is not happening! Threesteps - I need to borrow you name I think!

ihatethecold · 08/09/2012 07:20

Greedy girl.
I think level 3 is hard but it's seems to go quicker than level 2.
Top of my arms really feel it though afterwards.
I also having to adapt it a little cos jillians DVDs have really done my lower back inSad
Can't imagine doing L4Blush
I'm
Also back at work so not doing as much as the hols

trumpton · 08/09/2012 09:14

Did 6 days on level 2 and have moved up to level 3 for 6 days as we are going away next weekend. Really hard but seems to go quicker than level 2. Feeling happy with the way clothes are beginning to fit now.

BalloonSlayer · 08/09/2012 10:14

sweetkitty you sound very like me and we are at much the same stage of shredding. I am just over 5'4" and I have been trying to get back to being just under 9 stone these holidays. That's my goal - anything under 9 stone! I have been shredding first thing in the morning. By the end of the holidays I was about 9 stone still and a bit fed up after all my efforts, even though my stomach looks a whole lot better.

This week I have been back to work, someone brought cakes as it was their birthday etc. I have shredded twice after work (didn't do it yesterday though) and dropped about a pound and a half! Now 8st 12 3/4. I don't know whether it is:

  • shredding at different time of day
  • work using more calories (unlikely!)
  • shred finally working for me

or what? But very pleased.

Keep at it, it will happen!

McPie · 08/09/2012 11:01

The voice of reason that is my Dh has talked me into having a day off today (although I do plan on a nice long walk later but have not told him that yet Wink). I have done 120 mins of 60 second promise and 6 shreds this week so I suppose a couple of days off wont hurt though the wine I plan to consume tonight may just Grin.
I have lost another 1lb since the start of the week and am only 4 lb off where I was at the start of last summer. If I can get below 14 stone I will be over the moon as I think its been at least 9 years since that has happened. Im at the nurse on the 18th for my weigh-in so I think I will have to work a bit harder next week to make up for tonight's night in with the school mums Hmm.

sweetkitty · 08/09/2012 12:45

So Day 6 today of level 3 trying to be more Natalie.

Balloonslayer - thanks for the encouragement, sometimes you feel you shouldn't be moaning as technically I'm not overweight but I am flabby. I don't work but have 4 DCs of 8 and under so am always on the go.

I'm off out for a meal and wine but have already shredded, that might cover a glass of wine.Grin
