Well, week 15 of Bootcamp has just ended. But the support and banter will continue! I, for one, am carrying on for the next couple of weeks until my holiday, in the hope that I can drop another pound or so before I go.

There have been some brilliant losses in the last two weeks, so I'm hoping that you'll all be sticking with it too!

Morning all

Spent the day watching the men's time trial yesterday at Strawberry Hill - saw Bradley Wiggins as he sped past, exciting! Have turned from a complete Olympic cynic into a medals geek Grin

It was a bit of a last-minute decision, though, and we didn't plan terribly well so it did mean lunch was a slight disaster - pad thai Hmm. Dinner was better as went walked along the Thames Path to Richmond (lovely) and went to Gourmet Burger Kitchen - bunless burgers rock! And I didn't succumb to icecream or chocolate or crisps...

Must say I'm loving the idea of emmenthal sheets in lasagne... will definitely give that a try.

teaandthorazine · 02/08/2012 09:48

Badvoc, it's done, don't worry about it, just get back on the wagon and drink plenty of water today. I'm the Queen of Wagon-Tumbling and as long as you don't let it turn into a week of crap, you'll be fine.

Badvoc · 02/08/2012 09:48

phew!
thanks

Thegoddessblossom · 02/08/2012 12:09

Am deffo going to make that Emmenthal cheese lasagna. That sounds yum. And those courgette ribbons.

Badvoc · 02/08/2012 12:59

The ribbon courgette is indeed lovely

emmak86 · 02/08/2012 13:11

Afternoon all!

Emmental lasagne sheets does sound yum Smile

And as for jumping off the bandwagon.. I agree as long as you continue with the right WOE and drunk lots you should be ok, dont let it beat u!
Ive brunched today as i took my boys down to the library to start the reading challenge!

Brunch today was- 3 bacon, 2 scrambled eggs and mushroom!
Dinner is undecided atm but will update tonight!

Thegoddessblossom · 02/08/2012 13:27

Lunch: boiled egg, tuna with a dollop of mayo, salad leaves, cucumber, roasted courgettes and red onions, slice of chicken terrine.

Was still 9 2 this morning which is absolutely fine by me, it wavered onto 9 1 for a millisecond.

MsSlinkyTwit · 02/08/2012 14:03

Hi BIWI and everyone else. I am doing fm ultra lite version of this WOE for the time being (although as you know I was really in it to feel better more than to lose a load of weight (which I have)) as I haven't got the £ to do it Sad with the kids being home and eating eating eating Shock. I am being careful and not eating crap at all but it's hard, I feel shit eating things I 'shouldn't' & I can't do much about it. I'm not eating enough really s I try to save it so i'vc got some for tomorrow etc etc. Any ideas anyone?

mummyduff · 02/08/2012 14:10

Well done Emma and Tiptoe.

Breakfast for me was boiled egg with 2 rashers of bacon
Lunch prawns and salad
Dinner - to be decided but prob fishSmile

hazchem · 02/08/2012 15:15

Bit of a question.
Today is my first proper Low carb day
B- Chicken, leek, spinach omelette (cooked in butter!) with black coffee
L- 3 chicken legs and massive of broccoli with grated cheese with black coffee

SO 2 pm has struck and I have a headache I'm tired and feel grumpy and hungry and have eaten some nuts, a small tine of tuna and a a couple of tablespoons of greek yoghurt with thahini. Is this just the so of blood sugar slump/carb craving? Do I just need to fight through it?

Badvoc · 02/08/2012 16:13

Haz
I am still hungry during the day and I am 1.5 weeks into the low carb way of eating.
I think it's all about retraining your taste buds/stomach...
On day 2 I felt dreadful...headachy and fluey. I think it was candida die off (yuk)
Fell off thenwagn yesterday (bad day) but really didnt enjoy it at all. Pretty pointless really. If I am going to cheat I want to enjoy it!! :(

vnmum · 02/08/2012 16:30

I have decided to try and cut out dairy completely to see if it has any effect or makes me feel any better in myself. I have not had cream or cheese for a fair few days and surprisingly I am not missing it as I though I would.

so in my quest to give up dairy I have found a milk replacement for my cups of tea. It is "Almond breeze" unsweetened almond milk and it has only 0.2g carbs per 100ml!. It doesn't taste too bad in a brew either. I got it from tesco, in the fridge with all the soya and coconut milks etc.

well done emma on being the biggest loser.
badvoc if you are still hungry, are you eating enough fat/protein?

hazchem · 02/08/2012 17:00

Thanks badvoc I saw you had emergency dental work yesterday so totally understand a blow out/slip. I'm having lots of dental stuff done at the moment I find it really hard as it's quite exhausting. Hope your healing up ok.

I'm going to a kids cafe tomorrow so I'll remember to throw in some nuts in case i get really bad.

SharonGless · 02/08/2012 17:01

Hi msslinkytwit what are you trying to aim for? Ideas on eating low carb cheaply? Or worrying about eating higher carb foods? Good to see you with your new name change ;)

AppleyEverAfter · 02/08/2012 17:26

Thanks for replies and advice. My trainer said that I would probably find I wouldn't want to eat that many carbs on treat day... but I fear he has underestimated me! I will try to limit myself then!

The courgette pasta thing sound yum, will definitely try this.

Does anyone have any good breakfast ideas? Getting a bit fed-up of eggs every day...

captainmummy · 02/08/2012 17:43

Am probably going to fall spectacularly off the LC wagon this weekend-off to Cologne with the dc. WIll be carbaholic i'm sure, including such German delights as Beer, sausages and Rhein wine!

Need to be off at 5am - any ideas for a quick breakfast before i go? Alarm is set for 0445....

SingingTunelessly · 02/08/2012 18:41

Captainmummy, would you eat hard boiled eggs and cold sausages that you could prep tonight? Or yoghurt. You probably won't feel like too much at that time of the morning anyway. Enjoy Cologne. Smile

Welcome to all new posters am off to catch up with thread.

teaandthorazine · 02/08/2012 18:43

Have had a good day today - easy avoidance of many high-carb 'treats' Smile

Breakfast was protein shake and a small handful of almonds.

Lunch was a rainy and windswept picnic in local park with friends and kids. I took leftover roast chicken mixed with pesto and mayo, plus celery sticks, camembert and fresh anchovies, all for me! Everyone else sat munching sandwiches and crisps, mine looked much nicer Grin. We were going to head to the park cafe afterwards where ice-cream and cake were in the offing but a massive downpour solved that little issue...

Went back to friends house so kids could carry on playing - she prepared a massive spag bol for everyone - I had the bol minus the spag. And didn't partake of any of the biscuits either!

Feel rather virtuous and as if I've eaten really well today, too.

hazchem - you're probably just feeling the 'detox' (hate that word but ykwim) from sugar, it'll get better. Drink some water, have some paracetamol and an early night if you can!

emmak86 · 02/08/2012 19:18

Evening Smile

Dinner tonight was a beef grillsteak with frozen mixed veg, cabbage and some carott.. Defo couldve done with a peppercorn sauce or something with it!

Well done for resisting the spag and biscuits! Smile

Badvoc · 02/08/2012 19:24

I have had a decent day too carb wise...

Bowl of berries for breakfast
Egg mayo salad for lunch
Ham salad for dinner (was in a rush!)
2.5 squares of dark choc for treat!

Ditched the nuts...I am not mad keen on them anyway.

Have had no pasta or potato this week! :) Miraculous! And had some fish (which I am not too keen on tbh...)

I sat this morning and watched the boys eat cupcakes and massive slice of cream sponge and just had a cup of tea (virtuous :))

Its my birthday 2nd week of Oct (its a BIG one!) and I am determined to stick to it til then and see how I feel/look and reassess.

I will have birthday cake and treats, but not go mad or use my birthday as an excuse to pig out on carbs.

Have ordered some physillium (sp?) husks for the - ahem - bowel issues so hopefully that will help...

My tooth is ok thanks. VERY sore at 11pm last night though!

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 02/08/2012 20:26

good evening all

have .nc since I did this WOE a few months ago, a severe sickness bug sent me back to carb land, add to that a huge deadline on my research work and an extremely stressful house move and I have regained a stone in a month.

Im also sleeping badly, suffering heartburn again and bloated. the house move was into our dream home, I have also got the summer off and so intend to get back on the wagon and be fit and fab by Christmas. Im even getting a new set of scales!

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 02/08/2012 20:30

breakfast was an egg
lunch was smoked salmon salad
dinner was roast chicken wrapped in bacon sliced onto salad with mayo

I've been watching secret eaters and when I think about my hidden munchies it's a bit embarrassing and expensive

Thegoddessblossom · 02/08/2012 21:09

Tea was low carb sausages with courgette ribbons ( hmm jury is still out, should have done more and fried them for longer I think), mushrooms and green pepper.

Have remembered another thing I like about this thread. Nowhere in real life could I navel gaze so much about my weight and what i eat. I'd be embarrassed to. It's a great outlet.

SharonGless · 02/08/2012 21:47

The goddessblooms - I have the courgette ribbons with something saucy iyswim! Usually with carbonara or bologna use sauce or a stirfry. Not sure if I could eat them Just on their own. They need longer than you think to cook,

jollymary · 02/08/2012 22:11

Have now done two weeks, been really strict apart from occasional small taste of wine. JUST NOT LOSING ANY OF MY TUMMY!!! Feeling v depressedand premenstrual and just a total failure, really. Does having PCOS make weight loss impossible? Or does this WOE just not work for some people??
