Well, week 15 of Bootcamp has just ended. But the support and banter will continue! I, for one, am carrying on for the next couple of weeks until my holiday, in the hope that I can drop another pound or so before I go.

There have been some brilliant losses in the last two weeks, so I'm hoping that you'll all be sticking with it too!

Evening all and welcome to newbies.

Been busy as hell, will catch up on all the posts now

UglyBettyIsMyHotterSister · 01/08/2012 19:23

Hi, I just started a thread but wondered if you'd mind me gatecrashing here?!

I started low carbing yesterday but I feel like I'm eating too much. Please can someone tell me if I am. (long time porker over-eater.)

Yesterday I ate-

Breakfast- blueberries, strawberries and full fat greek yoghurt.

Lunch- halloumi salad with olive oil

Tea- Chicken breast stuffed with boursin and wrapped in bacon with asparagus.

Today I had-

Breakfast- scrambled egg with mushrooms and tomatoes.

Lunch- Chicken ceasar salad and a diet coke. (I forgot I was only meant yto drink water!)

Snack- Latte and a bag of pork scratchings.

Tea- Pork chop with gorgonzola, creamed spinach and broccoli.
Strawberries and cream.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome!

If you're doing Bootcamp you will need to knock the berries on the head.

Otherewise it looks fine. How are you feeling?

Thegoddessblossom · 01/08/2012 20:37

Tea: salmon steaks on stir fried leeks and courgettes.

Snacks: 1 baby bel, two table spoons of Greek yoghurt, 1 g&t

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 01/08/2012 21:18

I've got to stop eating Baby Bels for lunch and snacks - I had about 4 today, plus some cold roast beef dipped in garlic and herb cream cheese. I need to make things with veg in for lunch. I have made a big cottage pie with mashed neep instead of potato, so I can have that. I'm feeling a bit dispirited, but I think I might have shrunk a bit even if the scales have stuck. I got into some shorts that wouldn't do up a few weeks ago - still a bit of muffin-top, but FX it'll go soon. The sad thing is that I can remember when I got down to 9 stone 6 a few years ago and those shorts were loose. Sad I want to wear the shorts as part of a costume in 3 weeks time and I'm worried they won't fit. Must do some exercise!

UglyBettyIsMyHotterSister · 01/08/2012 21:20

Thanks for the reply.

I'm feeling ok although I feel a bit bloated. If this works, I'll be beyond impressed!

Do you think I'm eating too much fat/ cheese? This is a strange way of eating for me, I've spent years on a hunger diet hence why I'm a heffer

TeamGBIWI · 01/08/2012 21:36

There is a lot of dairy in your menu - you should keep an eye on that. Whilst it's good from the fat point of view, some people find that dairy can impede weight loss.

Don't worry about eating too much fat - fat s good!

If you're feeling bloated, are you drinking enough water? You need to drink a minimum of 2.5 litres a day - the more you weigh, the more you need to drink

Just wanted to post in this thread as well as the weigh-in thread - our Bootcamp Bonanza Challenge Loser Winner is emmak86 who has lost 7.7lbs over the last two weeks. Well done emma! Smile

And we have a combined weight loss of 28 stones over the last 15 weeks!

I'll leave the spreadsheet in situ just in case anyone wants to refer back to it, and I'll start up a new one for next Monday's weigh-in.

SharonGless · 01/08/2012 22:05

Well done emmak86, you are getting into now! I haven't tried those noodles as tend o make courgette ones are they ok?
Welcome UBIMHS- the Woe takes some getting used to when you have been used to starving to try and lose weight. It really is a revelation!
Turtle doves - have you got the shred dvd? Or just do lots of core exercises to get in the shorts. You will be surprised at how your shape changes on this Woe too

emmak86 · 01/08/2012 22:06

Wohooos Smile thank you!

I think were doing remarkably well between us.. Its all proof that this WOE works!! X

emmak86 · 01/08/2012 22:08

Sharon- The noodles are lovely, an ideal substitute!
They come in a liquid filled pack, i just rinsed them off and added them to the chicken and veg at the last minute Smile

SharonGless · 01/08/2012 22:10

Well done to our biggest loser - emmak86
Will give the noodles a go

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 02/08/2012 07:28

How / how long do you cook the courgette ribbons Sharon?

My friend is coming over on Saturday night. Luckily she is low carbing too but I still can't decide what to cook! Am thinking maybe curry, any better suggestions anyone? it doesn't have to be dead fancy.

Thegoddessblossom · 02/08/2012 07:40

B: 2 hard boiled eggs

sybilfaulty · 02/08/2012 07:50

Well done Emma.

Can I ask how you make courgette pasta? I've also heard of squash pasta. Does anyone have any ideas on that please?

Good day on food til about 10, then had some dark choc as really felt the urge. Odd as I don't often eat chocolate at all, even in the bad old days, but I really needed it. Or at least really wanted it. 2 squares did the job though. In the old days, this would have started a wholesale binge but it was just nice to have as a treat. Am fine this am.

Happy eating everyone

sybilfaulty · 02/08/2012 07:51

Btw, it was ten at night not in the morning!

I've stopped hoovering up the kids' leftovers too. I can't now see why col bagel and wizened toast hold any appeal. Wonder why it ever did.

SharonGless · 02/08/2012 08:05

Courgette ribbons which can be used instead of pasta or noodles. If you have one of those posh mandolin things the slice into julienne strips or just slice into very thin strips (without cutting fingers-unlike me) fry in olive oil
Yum!

tiptoemum · 02/08/2012 08:16

Morning all, have just finished my 2nd week and have lost 8lbs so really pleased. We are off on holiday next week so a bit more of a challenge then. We are self-catering so shouldn't be too bad. If it is correct that weeks 3 and 4 tend to plateau then it will be tricky to gauge. Well done to everyone!

TeamGBIWI · 02/08/2012 08:40

Great going, tiptoemum!

OP posts:
TeamGBIWI · 02/08/2012 08:40

sybil - you can also make wide, flat ribbons with a potato peeler.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 02/08/2012 09:08

Why can DH never follow instructions? I said get Total yoghurt and he comes back with M&S Greek-Style Yoghurt, carb content 5.2g per 100ml. What was he even doing in M&S when there's a Sainsbury's right next to it? Doesn't he know by now that M&S only sells M&S foods?

Jins · 02/08/2012 09:19

Slices of emmental work brilliantly as lasagne sheets by the way. They don't melt like you'd expect

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 02/08/2012 09:23

Just catching up with the thread - well done to everyone not succumbing to temptation! Tiptoe - 8lbs is fantastic! And Thanks to emma for being the Bootcamp Biggest Loser!

I've had a stall this week , which is expected but annoying nonetheless so it was great to read the experiences of that and that if you stick to this WOE the weight loss will start again. I always find the last 6 pounds the hardest to shift?!

All this talk of shorts and exercise has inspired me - might do some Shred to tighten up my ab (I can only see the one Grin) Ossom, as Jillian would say Grin

Badvoc · 02/08/2012 09:41

Derailed majorly yesterday...had to have emergency dental work done (root canal) and was feeling very sorry for self so pigged out on;
shortbread
flapjack
choc orange
...and I didnt enjoy any of it, in fact I spat the flapjack out!!!
AND I have woken up this morning with indigestion!
I am back on the bandwagon this morning!
Interestingly in 1.5 weeks I have lost 9lbs, an inch from 1 thigh, half an inch from the other, an inch of my bust and half an inch off my hips! :)
Got to keep this up!
Please tell me my choc/crap binge wont ruin it??? :(
