Well, week 15 of Bootcamp has just ended. But the support and banter will continue! I, for one, am carrying on for the next couple of weeks until my holiday, in the hope that I can drop another pound or so before I go.

There have been some brilliant losses in the last two weeks, so I'm hoping that you'll all be sticking with it too!

Omg i have just made the lushest LC shepherds pie! ( with sml amount of gravy) best experiment yet!! Grin

emmak86 · 16/08/2012 18:30

Ill add the recipe to the recipe thread later tonight when i go on the PC x

Jins · 16/08/2012 18:45

NigellasGuest has it exactly right. The first weeks whether it's called induction, attack or boot camp is all about learning what's allowed and how you react to it. After that you design your own plan.

Personally I don't like being given a weeks worth of menu plans and you don't learn anything that way either

well done lubilee!
I didn't actually get carb flu - so you might not have to have that.
Not sure when the weight loss kicks in - I think it's different depending on the individual.

Jins I've never got on with those diets with set meals either Wink

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 16/08/2012 19:41

I discovered something else today which was a no no, starbucks expresso cans, they have 18g of carb per 200.ml can! I usually have one whenever I go shopping. oops.

a good day, despite monthly bloating I found my jeans were really really baggy, DH asked if they were my bigger pair and was impressed when I said no. makes me wonder what my real shape should be. weaning dd at the moment and suspect breasts will shrink more.

egg for breakfast, poached haddock with watercress for lunch and carb free bangers and mash for dinner. and loads of water!

hope everyone is ok and enjoying the weather?

vnmum · 16/08/2012 19:57

eyes your boobs probably will shrink quite a bit more. After I stopped feeding DC2 and then lost 4 stone my boobs unfortunately look like old womans boobs. I went from a 36GG to a 32 DD. My weight seemed to go off those in preference to anywhere else hence why I am seriously considering surgery.
Hopefully yours won't go the same way, especially if you haven't as much weight to lose as I did. Also I lost the first 3 stones on low cal low fat (ww) and I'm sure I read someone had said that boob loss seemed less on this woe. If only i'd known that then Smile

emmak86 · 16/08/2012 20:16

I have around 3 stone to lose altogether... and im wondering if my skin around my mum tum will look normal..aside from the stretch marks that is lol??

im hoping that as it wont be falling off extra fast it might spring back ok...dont know if thats wishful thinking though! x

Jins · 16/08/2012 20:43

Depends how old you are and how elastic your skin is Emma. I shrank back reasonably well until I dropped under 8.5 and then there were patches of wrinkly skin on my belly. It wasn't a big issue to be honest and was a lot easier to hide than the 3 stone of flab was

My bikini days are over anyway.

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 16/08/2012 21:07

vnmum i did a low calorie/low fat diet and m boobs shrank loads and loads, dd started to feed constantly and my supply went. But this WOE isn't impacting them so badly. I hope that we will have a few more children so my days of awesome cleavage are not totally over.

HumphreyCobbler · 16/08/2012 21:20

Hello everyone.

I am back from my holiday, and will perhaps draw a veil over my eating in the last few days of it.....But I kept it up quite well until the end.

I have bloated massively due to not drinking enough over a 2 day drive (we did 2003 miles overall) and eating a packet some chocolate jaffa cakes.

I am really looking forward to getting back into ketosis. I found it pretty impossible to eat enough fat either while I was away and while I avoided bread and sugar I did end up eating quite a lot of carby veg and fruit. I definitely feel so much better when my fat intake is high. My insomnia came back too.

Anyway, nice to be back Smile

emmak86 · 16/08/2012 21:25

jins im 26 Smile

humphrey.. welcome back! Forget about the slip ups, you can make up for them
Now youre home x

SharonGless · 16/08/2012 23:59

Hi everyone had a good day food wise
B cheese and mushroom omlette
L cauliflower cheese
D chicken leg and salad with mayo

Quick changeover at work so having glass of wine to help me sleep.
Dh being a twat when I got in so gone to bed in a sulk -Men!

Humphrey - welcome back! Did you have a wonderful holiday? If you made the cheats count then it doesn't matter. Just get right back on the wagon

teaandthorazine · 17/08/2012 07:01

Morning losers!

Not a bad day yesterday. Dp and I both off work, ds at football camp, so much lounging around done Grin. I realised that dp ate carby sugary crap constantly, though - and then complained about how bad he felt and had to nap halfway through the day.... but he won't listen to me re carbs etc because he's a skinny bugger so it's not a problem Hmm

Anywayyyyy:
breakfast was scrambled egg and smoked salmon, coffee with cream
didn't need anything after that until 8pm dinner - bunless burger with cheese and bacon, salad and creamy coleslaw. Did have a glass of wine and a couple of squares of dark choc.

Scales are now reading 10st!!!! Cannot remember the last time I weighed that. Amazing. Love. This. WOE.

topsi · 17/08/2012 08:19

I have lost 4lbs now!! Feeling slimmer and jeans not heaving at the seams any more I love the way I can feel the bagging at the bum slightly as I walk!
Are onions not a good idea? I guess they are pretty sweet. I am aiming for a sustainable diet though so don't intend to cut out too much stuff or life becomes too difficult and boring.
I am doing well during the day but finding evening meals a bit tricky and boring.
Basically been eating meat and veg, having lots of bar b q's at the moment so thata easy but will get boring after a while.
How about home made pesto? How are pine nuts. Also need to learn cheese sauce without the flour.

clare8allthepies · 17/08/2012 08:34

Morning everyone, food is going really well at the moment, DP and DD had spaghetti and meatballs last night, and I had the meatballs but made aubergine parmigiana to have with it - yum! Scales seem to be static though, I know this is down to the excessive wine consumption this week Grrr!

fufulina · 17/08/2012 08:46

Morning ladies.

Am away, house sitting for my mum and dad with both DDs. Weather vile, my mood perhaps more vile! Am losing heart, and sick of eggs. Losing inches, but still stuck at 78kg. Is four weeks today I've been doing this woe.

Beïng away makes things more difficult for reasons I can't really work out. I think it's because I think I'm on a sort of holiday so 'should' have some treats. So far, have had a beer, and too much dark chocolate, and a corn on the cob yesterday. Didn't drink enough on Wednesday, then tummy was so painful yesterday, yadda yadda. Am not happy. Kick me!

Boo. Having a low low day. Anything to do with increase of carbs yesterday, perhaps?

HumphreyCobbler · 17/08/2012 09:08

I had a lovely holiday thanks Sharon. It was very hot and the children both made great strides in learning to swim.

It was interesting re the cheating, I really did it because I had to rather than because I wanted to. It was impossible in the situation I was in to get enough fat OR protein, I was seriously hungry for the first five days of the holiday. I then sort of capitulated in a minor way, and it just impacted on my mood and sleep immediately. The carbs then gradually increased until on the journey home I ate the biscuits.

I am really looking forward to my bacon and egg breakfast!

teaandthorazine · 17/08/2012 09:40

topsi - can you buy shallots rather than onions, they're much less carby? I use them all the time now and don't notice any difference taste wise.

sybilfaulty · 17/08/2012 09:55

I am very hungover. Craving chocolate, whic I never eat, but sooooooo tired. Ate LC but lots of wine and gallons of water. I had 8 small glasses, whilst the others had 1 each and cannot move this morning.

Right, coffee and a it of CBBc beckon.

teaandthorazine · 17/08/2012 09:56

lubilee - Mayo is definitely allowed as it's a great way to get a bit of extra fat. just make sure it's not too carby. Hellmanns is fine, for example (full fat version of course!)

clarabellabunting · 17/08/2012 10:12

LubileeJubileeJayde it was me talking about gravy the other day. I usually make it from scratch which involves a roux and at least 1/2 a cup of flour - hence the carbs (I'd imagine about 10g per serving at least). I think gravy granules are probably a lot lower in carbs than that - probably 2-3 grams per serving.

As much as I love gravy, I'd much rather use my daily carb allowance on something that fills me up like veg, rather than gravy so discovering a zero-carb gravy has really cheered me up.

Jacaqueen · 17/08/2012 10:12

Morning Everyone.

I posted on the original Bootcamp threads until I went on holiday at the start of July. Upto then I managed to lose around 2stone. Put on a few pounds during the holiday but have managed to maintain over the summer.

I have a lot going on and decided to take a break from Mumsnet, plus my laptop died and my phone is useless for posting. My children go back to school next week (in Scotland) and it feels rather autumnal today so I reckon it is high time that I got on with getting rid of a bit more weight.

I have stuck to low carb in the main, but a few treats and far too much wine have stalled my weight loss. I will weigh in on Monday and I would love to get another 2 stone off by Christmas.

Right I am off to have a skim through the thread.
