Well, week 15 of Bootcamp has just ended. But the support and banter will continue! I, for one, am carrying on for the next couple of weeks until my holiday, in the hope that I can drop another pound or so before I go.

There have been some brilliant losses in the last two weeks, so I'm hoping that you'll all be sticking with it too!

Not even started, mummyduff! DH and DS2 will be easy. My problem will be sorting out how much to take that's not a stupid amount!

CobOnTheCorn · 09/08/2012 19:55

Just popping in to say a quick hello and wish BIWI'S Bon voyage.

I am still low carbing but I derailed for a few weeks and I found it extremely difficult to get back on track again.

It was a busy time and I wasn't mning very much although perhaps if I'd have popped in here and confessed all I could have got some support to get back in to this woe.

Hey ho, I know I can do it so I need to keep focused. I might re-read IPD to remind me how to deal with cheating.

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 09/08/2012 20:31

A good day. Horrendous night with toddler was countered by a slice of natural ham (I.e. Non processed) and and a poached egg with fresh coffee for breakfast. Morning went on to be similarly terrible, and yet I didn't crack. I had a smoked mackerel salad for lunch and didn't have anything else to eat until my dinner.

Can I just check tonic water is ok? Waitrose do these good value bottle flavoured with lemon and lime and cold they are a fantastic alternative to fizzy pop. Thanks in advance

Oh and for spreadsheet, I am 12.2 and want to be 11 by Christmas.

TeamGBIWI · 09/08/2012 20:35

Welcome back Cob! It's hard, getting back on the wagon, especially if other things are going on in RL. You absolutely should have come back here! I'm sure we could have helped you - and I'm sure we can help you now. Just talk to us Smile

Eyes - tonic should be reasonably OK, as long as it's not a full sugar one. Check the back label for the carb count.

I'm trying to be sensible on the packing front. We have a maid Blush who will come every day to do any cleaning and washing so I know, rationally, that I really only need to take a week's worth of clothes. But I now have so many things that I suddenly fit into that I want to take them all!

Thanks for the support re DH going away. I just try and keep busy and find something to focus on achieving to help the time pass quicker.

Well the weekend at my parents hasn't started well. Despite me trying to explain how we ate prior to the visit, we arrived to a pizza takeaway. After travelling most of the day and being tired I had no option but to eat it. God knows what tomorrow will bring. I do know we are going for an Indian tomorrow night so I know I can make wise choices there, it is the rest of the day that is a problem. I might just fas

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 09/08/2012 21:23

vnmum, Could you find another project to get dug into while your husband is away? Something in the garden or the house as well as your inner determination to slim? Just a thought. I hope your evening tomorrow is good, just drink lots of water and I am sure all will be well

BIWI have a great holiday, looking forward to anothe bootcamp in october Grin

Thegoddessblossom · 09/08/2012 22:10

BIWI tell me about re packing. I've got a pile of definites, pile of wannabes, a pile of possibles when ironed, and a pile of would like to but probably shouldn'ts (how many pairs of shorts can one possibly need? And will I need cardis and if so how many and which colours?) Boys are done easy peasy. DH will wear the same pair of shorts and tshirt for the whole two weeks wherever he packs so I am not getting involved.

Scales will be interesting tomorrow. 5 g&ts and a glass of wine. Had tapas type food and one handful of peanuts so not too bad....I hope. Don't want to go up at this late stage......j

TeamGBIWI · 09/08/2012 22:12

vnmum - I don't know how you cope with that, tbh Sad It must be incredibly stressful for you. Your DH is out there, doing what he is trained to do, and so on, but for you at home - I really can't imagine what it must be like for you.

Maybe (cheeky emoticon) you could help me sort out a better-than-ever pre-Christmas Bootcamp?!

OP posts:
SingingTunelessly · 09/08/2012 23:19

Vnmum that is tough having DH away. Although not sure what BIWI means?! Not a really tough Bootcamp? .

Godess surely you haven't had FIVE G n Ts?! Am swigging Vodka like no tomorrow as PILs have turned up unexpectedly for an overnight stay and DH away. But not caught up with you yet! Gawd help me this is tough. How to explain prawns with mayo is ok. Confused

NotMostPeople · 10/08/2012 00:07

Eves you'll do it before Christmas. I was exactly 12 stone at the beginning of Bootcamper about beginning of May and am now 10 and a half (even after naughty eating holiday).

sybilfaulty · 10/08/2012 07:06

Have a lovely holiday BIWI.

Awful day yesterday, with DD1 having a crisis and a very upset little girl and her mum coming to play. We cracked open the wine at 5.30 and didn't look back. Ooops. Feel it though this morning.

Water and clean living beckon for today. Had plaice with buttered spinach for dinner and it was lovely.

Thegoddessblossom · 10/08/2012 07:39

Yes Singing - 5 G&Ts and a glass of red. I am not proud. Feel ok this morning after a cuppa tea, but the damage has been done - 2 pounds up on the scales to 9 3. I'm with you on the clean living today Sybil and am also going to the gym. Can't see much running occurring however.

B: 3 egg and ham omelette.

CobOnTheCorn · 10/08/2012 07:59

Thanks BIWI, sometimes even when I know the right thing to do...I stil don't do it Smile

SharonGless · 10/08/2012 08:21

Morning all,
Had a cheese and mushroom omlette for breakfast and am packing a low carb picnic as going out for the day with DC as its my day off work. Typically the sun has now gone in!
DH made chicken shaslick on the BBQ last night which was lovely. Marinated pieces of chicken in natural yoghurt and tandoori spices, grilled on BBQ with peppers and shallots. I had mine with green salad and he had some naan bread with a little homemade curry sauce which we had leftover. Yum
Have a good day everyone

NotMostPeople · 10/08/2012 09:13

We tried the no carb noodles that BIWI has mentioned after a trip to China Town and they were amazingly good. I thought they wouldn't be very nice but in a stir fry they were delish. Wish I'd got more now.

mummyduff · 10/08/2012 09:32

Morning all, Grin to Emma

Well been up since 6am, washing and housework done! Have a friend round today so it will be garden time againSmile

I didn't weigh myself today as had a coffee and pint of water before I remembered....

BIWI and Goddess have fantastic holidaysSmile

peggyblackett · 10/08/2012 09:37

Hello lovely low carb experts :)

I have just under 2 stone to lose (have already lost 2st since Feb). I'd really like to low carb...however I'm still BF dd2 (6m). Are the two compatible?

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 10/08/2012 09:47

peggy I am still BFing my 2yr old and I must admit I found it hard going and thought it affected my supply. Even when I was drinking plenty of water. In fact I think that she brought my supply back up again by frequent feedings but I found that happened as well when I lost weight using the low calorie approach too. BFing takes a LOT of calories, perhaps you could take a lower carb approach rather than full low carb?

Just my humble opinion.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 10/08/2012 09:56

Hi Peggy - I'm bf 5mo DD and all seems well. I've been doing this for nearly 9 weeks, so I started when she was 3 months and have lost 16lbs. She has stayed steadily on the 55th centile. Besides, your DD will be starting on solids around now and her milk consumption will start to taper off (not immediately, I know, but gradually over the next few months).

I have suddenly realised that I haven't had breakfast yet! Have had a cup of tea and a pint of water and it seems to have fooled my stomach into thinking it's been fed. DD is asleep on me. I might just have my lunch when she wakes up, which is leftover green Thai prawn curry with yellow pepper, courgette and leeks. I put coconut cream as well as full fat coconut milk into it - mmm!

Yesterday I asked for tap water in a pub and when it came it tasted of sugar. It had been poured from one of those soft drink hose things that they have in pubs - you know, press one button for Coke, one for Diet Coke, one for Fanta and one for water. I could taste the leftover sugar from all the fizzy drinks. My friend couldn't taste it at all, so I drank it anyway because I was thirsty. I have super-sensitive taste buds now!

TeamGBIWI · 10/08/2012 10:02

Morning all!

Here is an interesting article that dropped into my e-mail box this morning:

fitness.mercola.com/sites/fitness/archive/2012/08/10/fat-not-glucose.aspx?e_cid=20120810_DNL_artNew_1

Scales are up for me - not surprising as I have very definitely been in holiday mode this week - and I am having to accept the fact that they will start with a 10 by the time I'm back from holiday, even if I do make it to the gym at all when I'm there. Ah well.

I will have the laptop with me, as it is essential for DH apparently. Nothing to do with the sport, oh no. Grin So I will be checking in from time to time.

Re the pre-Christmas Bootcamp - I wasn't planning on making it harder - just better. Any ideas from anyone about how to do that will be gratefully received.
