Well, week 15 of Bootcamp has just ended. But the support and banter will continue! I, for one, am carrying on for the next couple of weeks until my holiday, in the hope that I can drop another pound or so before I go.

There have been some brilliant losses in the last two weeks, so I'm hoping that you'll all be sticking with it too!

Jan - sorry to hear that. Take the time to look after yourself Sad

MrsOnYourMarksGetSetPoirot · 05/08/2012 18:14

Sorry to hear that things are difficult jan, even if you know it is the right thing. I am however doubly impressed you've not turned to the carbs for comfort! X

vnmum · 05/08/2012 18:58

sorry to hear that jan

mummyduff · 05/08/2012 19:01

jan I am so sorry to hear that, take care of yourself x x x

ILoveStripeySocks · 05/08/2012 19:25

Can I join in even though I am following Dr Charles Clarks rules and not Bootcamp rules? I know they are very similar, but I have noticed a couple of tiny differences. I want/need to follow the book I have, If there is somewhere I else I should be, could someone point me in the right direction?

emmak86 · 05/08/2012 19:28

L- was chicken breast with chilli flakes, parsley and sage and salad.

D- roast chicken with carrots, broccoli and roast butternut squash ( small portion).

No snacks at all today! Felt so full up between breaky and lunch. Mind you i have drank LOTS today Smile

SingingTunelessly · 05/08/2012 19:34

Oh Jan, so sorry. Sad take care of yourself and remember you can always offload to us lot.

Ilove, I'm not familiar with Clarke's book so don't know how similar our Rules are to his. Am sure somebody will be along soon to help though. Welcome btw!

sybilfaulty · 05/08/2012 19:39

Welcome, Stripy!

You need our leader to tell you the difference really as she is a. very knowledgeable, b. very well read and c. very lovely but you are most welcome nonetheless. We all follow a LC diet but some of us are strict, others less so and we chat about food and everything on the way. What are the differences? WOn't make a difference to you being here, of course, but if you were allowed, say, unlimited wine or cake, we might be a bit jealous!

Am loving Olympics, but bloody sick of my dear husband checking his Iphone and / or Ipad every 2 minutes. He was even on the bloody thing whilst I was in Tesco and now he is "doing baths" for the kids whilst looking at the sport. Still, only one more week eh?

Thegoddessblossom · 05/08/2012 20:08

Very sorry to hear of your troubles jan. Big hugs.

B was smoked salmon and eggs, snack was boiled egg, main meal was roast lamb parsnips and kale.

Made a coffee and walnut cake for my dad and a chocolate cake for the dss and had neither which my dh thought was really annoying of me Hmm

Have had two g&ts and 2 glasses of wine as am in mid row with dh and binging. He has been so so short tempered with ds2 today which makes me miserable, they clash so much, but as ds2 is 5 and dh is 41 I think the onus is on dh to work it out. He seems to disagree. Sad

TeamGBIWI · 05/08/2012 20:45

Welcome, Stripy!

Dr Clark's approach is more lenient than Bootcamp, in that he allows a slice of wholemeal bread each day as well as an orange - which would make your daily carbs a bit high.

However, the principles are pretty much the same, and so as long as you don't show off about your slice of bread/daily orange, then I reckon you will find a suitable home here with us! Grin

Thegoddess - sorry to hear you're rowing. I was all set to have one with DH tonight, we went to friends for lunch, and the red wine was flowing in a ridiculous fashion. I was driving, so had one glass of pink sparkling wine, and then watched as all the men got progressively more pissed - loud, rude and generally juvenile/puerile. However, no point trying to row with a drunk, and DH has taken himself off to bed anyway. He is now stretched out on our bed - across it, rather than getting in it, fully clothed. That's me in the spare room, then.

jan I am so, so sorry to hear your news. As everyone else has said, please look after yourself. I know it will be hard to keep toeing the low carb line, when I'm sure you don't feel like it, but if you can be in control of your food, then at least you will be in control of part of the situation you are in.

And vent/rage/talk here as much as you want - you know we are all here for you.

Jan so sorry x
Didn't have any potatoes at mils!! She had made mash, new and roast!
I did have a few squares of dark choc though :)
Do any of you have gallstones btw?
I have I've and am wondering if this woe will have any effect?

jan2011 · 05/08/2012 20:47

honestly thanks so so much for all the support it means so so much! xo

TeamGBIWI · 05/08/2012 21:03

3 lots of potatoes?! Was your MIL trying to taunt you or something?!!!

Very well done for refusing.

Sorry, I don't have any experience of gallstones - I think Jins may know more about it than me (she usually knows more about everything than me? Grin)

Thanks for the welcome! I dont have the daily orange (hate them!) so I take a vit C tablet each day. I started 4 days ago, have only had the slice of bread twice, but I dont think I need it. I have a loaf of Burgen Linseed bread in the freezer, I like knowng I can have a slice if I need it. I think its more hat he encourages eating onions & peppers etc, whereas they are a "sometimes" veg on Bootcamp (am I right?). Have gone through all the thread and I seem to be eating much the same as everyone else here :) Oh and he allows alcohol, but Im not much of a drinker! Nice to know I can have the odd vodka & diet coke if I happen to go out though.

jan2011, Im just new here but I am so sorry about your situation :(

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 05/08/2012 21:23

I am sorry Jan, I hope you have rl people who can give you love and support

I start bootcamp tomorrow. again. hoping this time to make it through the carb crash!

Thegoddessblossom · 05/08/2012 21:40

Omg biwi don't get me started on how annoying men are when they are drunk. Well done for not even going there.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 05/08/2012 21:48

Jan, I'm so sorry to hear that. Please come on here when you feel low and we'll hold your hand. Cuddle your lovely DD tonight and just take things very slowly.

HurricaneWyn, slight technical error with the lasagne - it sort of all melted together into thick soup underneath the top layer. Not really sure what went wrong. DH made the cheese sauce and assembled it so I'm inclined to blame him. Think the cheese sauce was too runny. I made the bolognese sauce so naturally it was perfect! It still tasted pretty good, though.

Made some low-carb ice cream - whipped cream mixed with raspberries and blueberries and frozen. Haven't tried it yet as it's still freezing, but hoping it tastes good.

hurricanewyn · 05/08/2012 21:51

Just wanted to report back on the flaxseed pizza - it was great!
Really tasty, just like the real thing but without the horrible bloaty feeling I'd get from eating pizza.
DH & I shared it, but to be honest with a bigger salad, it could've easily done 3/4 people..
I can't remember who recommended it, but thanks!

hurricanewyn · 05/08/2012 21:53

That's a shame TooImmature. Maybe try again without DH's "help"?

Thegoddessblossom · 05/08/2012 22:00

Is flaxseed pizza on recipe thread? Please link to it again ao I can print it all off?

hurricanewyn · 05/08/2012 22:21

I can't link from my phone, but I just googled flaxseed pizza and used the first recipe that came up.

ohforfoxsake · 05/08/2012 22:51

Hello again. I have stacked on the stone I lost at bootcamp.

So I have stacked the fridge and am ready to go again. This time with determination.

I am bitterly disappointed with myself, especially reading all the success stories on here. Kicking myself. Hard.

Onwards and upwards from hereon in.

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 05/08/2012 23:04

it has to be said my biggest problem is meal planning. DH will not eat fish or low carb alternatives, DD is dairy and soya intolerant, I really really want DH to try low carb but he just refuses so I end up doing melts that suit them and either not eating or picking the bits I can eat

alcohol is also my downfall
