Well, week 15 of Bootcamp has just ended. But the support and banter will continue! I, for one, am carrying on for the next couple of weeks until my holiday, in the hope that I can drop another pound or so before I go.

There have been some brilliant losses in the last two weeks, so I'm hoping that you'll all be sticking with it too!

Morning All and well done ilovemyteddy thats is excellent, pics please!!

Grin at Humphrey and well done, my cycle has also regulated and no PMT either, its great!!

Out early so breakfast was coffee, off shopping now to stock up on lots of lovely LC foodSmile

Have fab days everyone x

sybilfaulty · 04/08/2012 10:49

Have just got into my friend's donated size 10 trousers! Size 10!

Still feel bloated and wobbly though, and period seems to have stopped.

Well done HUmph on the holiday clothes.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 04/08/2012 11:27

Yay Humphrey and Sybil!

Inspired by you lot I have just tried on a pair of Topshop size 10 high-waisted denim shorts and they do up! Lots of muffin top, so they don't actually fit, as such, but I wasn't expecting them to fasten at all. I bought those shorts about 3 years ago when I was 9 stone 6 and toned and they were a little tight even then. It seems that this WOE makes you thinner for your weight than low-cal.

hurricanewyn · 04/08/2012 11:36

Good morning all. I've weighed today and lost 7lbs in just over a week. Yay Grin.

Last night I had tandoori chicken and salad for dinner.
Breakfast this morning was an omlette with ham & mushrooms
Lunch will be leftover chicken
Dinner - will try lasagne with emmental. Looking forward to that!!

TeamGBIWI · 04/08/2012 11:46

Yay! to holiday clothes!

I think it's much more inspiring/exciting/motivating when clothes fit than looking at what the scales are telling you.

Hi, everyone! Lost 2 pounds this week to take me to 9 stone 6.5 pounds which is a total loss of 2 stones altogether and 1/2 stone since switching from WW to low carb (about the last 4 weeks) Smile

Only 6 and a half pounds to go to the 9st target I set myself when I started then though I think I'll reassess when I get there. Although I can get in all of my size 12s and some of my size 10s I've still got a belly and think I might have to go lower if I'm ever going to have a flat(ish) tummy.

I have a shoulder of pork to cook in the cooker tomorrow, any ideas what to do with it? Pre low carb it would have been burritos but seeing as tortillas and rice and beans are all out that's a no-goer. Grin

TeamGBIWI · 04/08/2012 12:31

I would do roasted veg with that - peppers, courgettes, aubergine, shallots, garlic - with olive oil, black pepper and sea salt

Well done everyone!
Can I ask a question re: lots of red meat?
What are your views on the recent studies, linking lots of red meat with increased risk of bowel cancer?
Not trying to worry monger...just wondered what you all think?
I have never eaten much meat (til, now!) and have had bowel problems for a long time so I don't think that red meat = bad but wondered how you get e requiredmdietary fibre?

TeamGBIWI · 04/08/2012 12:40

The problem with that study, Badvoc, was the definition of 'red meat' - it included things like processed meats such as sausage and bacon. All manner of other ingredients involved with that kind of food, compared with pure/natural and unprocessed meat.

Fibre will come from veg and salad - which is why you are encouraged to get your carbs from only these things.

This might put your mind at ease

Badvoc · 04/08/2012 12:47

Hmmm...ponders the bacon she had with breakfast and lovely thick carved ham she had with salad for lunch....oh dear.
I don't eat bacn very often tbh...once a week? Maybe?
I don't eat sausages either.
do eat meatballs but only very good quality ends (Aberdeen Angus)
I guess it's like avoiding meat with nitrates in?
Thanks BIWI

TeamGBIWI · 04/08/2012 12:56

That's why one of the Bootcamp rules (you have read them, haven't you? Grin) is about keeping processed meat to a minimum.

OP posts:
Badvoc · 04/08/2012 13:11

Yes I have, honest! :)
But I was doing bacon for dh and it smelt sooo good. And it was unsmoked and streaky!
I though the ham would be ok as its cut from a leg and had the fat on?
Amazing hiwow much I am enjoying eating fat.....

TeamGBIWI · 04/08/2012 13:32

You can have bacon and ham - just not at every meal, every day!

And a big yes to fat.

emmak86 · 04/08/2012 13:38

Afternoon... Im having a poo day today... Not with eating!
Did my bmi on the machine and ive still got a way to go.. Just made me feel rubbish Sad

TeamGBIWI · 04/08/2012 13:42

Focus on what you have already achieved, emma. You have done so well! We're all here 'on a journey' (to use a dreadful cliche!). And on that journey there will be ups and downs for us all. But take a step back and congratulate yourself for what you have done so far. Think how you were feeling before you first started.
Thanks to cheer you up.

Ilovemyteddy · 04/08/2012 14:26

It's taken since Jan 15th, Tooimmature

Down another half a pound this morning. My BMI is still 27.5 so I still have a way to go. Will post pics when not on my phone.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 04/08/2012 15:07

Wow, Ilove. That's incredibly impressive. Was it all low-carb? Can't wait to see the pics!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 04/08/2012 15:11

My BMI is down to 26.7 - yay! Only 9.75 lbs before I get to BMI 25. And I turned down DH's offer of making pancakes with coconut flour - too high-carb!

Badvoc · 04/08/2012 15:52

I have - yet another! - question.
I have read briffa. I have read Atkins.
Do any of you have carbs in the form of wheat or flour?
And is that only after you have reached goal?
I am just asking as I use GF flour anyway which I think is lower in carbs than normal flour? I don't particularly want to eat bread or pasta again (!) but I would like to think I could have the odd potato and cake?
Feeling awful today...don't know whether it's due to boot camp or left over from yesterday's migraine :(

Thegoddessblossom · 04/08/2012 16:21

Congrats ilove, bloody well done.

Too immature - I love that you are drinking gin at 3 in the afternoon. Grin

Had some Greek yoghurt for breakfast.

We went out for lunch and I had steak with a creamy peppercorn sauce, mushroom, and, melted cheese and a side salad with no dressing. Did eat tomato though. Came with a mountain of chips and onion rings of which I ate nada.

Got holiday suitcases down from the loft this afternoon. Now comes the decision, which bikinis to take and do I really need 5 pairs of sandals? 10 more sleeps...so a bit premature but I am excited. Biwi I'd love to see where you are going, is it a bit personal to share? I'll link to mine if you do.....

Pork belly with veg for tea tonight.

vnmum · 04/08/2012 17:00

tooimmature I think the reason we tend to be thinner for the weight than on low cal is because on this WOE we are losing fat only but on low cal you tend to lose fat and muscle. As we tend to keep the muscle on this woe and muscle is denser so takes up less room in the body that will probably explain why we can be the same weight as when we cal controlled but a smaller dress size.

I am hungry today and for some reason just wanting to pig out on crap. maybe it is linked to my period, i don't know, but I am drinking lots and resisting the urge so far.

Tea is going to be meatloaf and salad, yum

Ilovemyteddy · 04/08/2012 17:08

All low-carb, yes. Have yo-yo dieted for years but this is definitely the WOE for me! Am 4lb away from my wedding day weight 26 years ago. Maybe i'll try my wedding dress on!

hazchem · 04/08/2012 18:04

Well not having a great day today. Really hungry in in between meals. So have snacked on yogurt, nuts and tinned makerel.

Breakfast was ok Omelette with spinach and mushrooms

Lunch was great did toasted cobnuts with courgettes and green beans with great cheese but it was enough so I had a can of fool ( fava beans in tahini) thinking oh beans are high in protein this is a good thing to have. I've just re read some of Briffa and realised it was not a good thing to have.

However have been to aldi and stocked up on lots of the allowed veg ect.

I'm spurred on by all of the great success stories on here (and also the fact my trousers are feeling loose)
