Here we are again - new thread time! Can you believe we're on our 9th one?

I've been down to DFS and got us some new squidgy sofas. Feel free to add anything else you like Grin

Oh no clodagh sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your hols, family can be very difficult can't they?

I have 13 days til my wedding, and a big wobbly jelly belly. Should really pull my digit out me arse and plan some serious dieting and exercise...But I can't see that happening! Ah well, maybe some speed curry and lentil pie should be on my radar instead.

fhf - we're you thinking of AlpinePony or FriendofDorothy? Think they both got up-diffed and left us?

Been thinking of you today bee - do you have a revised date for your pre-op check appt?

Off to sleep soon, v.late night last night, and 6.30 start in the am.

Good morning from turkey!
WiFi connection here is bad but I've been getting my internet fix in small doses.
I have been doing a lot of uphill walking so I'm sure my legs are trimmer.
I've decided that on my return from holidays, I'm going to live on salad to try and shed some weight before going back to work.

Huge congratulations Jodie, really pleased for you.

Chocolatemakesmefat · 20/08/2012 11:37

Get in the pool Kid and do some laps to tone your legs even more, a swim a day on holiday keeps the weight gain at bay!

Clodaghdragonfly · 20/08/2012 19:47

I went swimming on holidayShock just the once, but still...

took the boys out on our bikes yesterday, to stock up on healthy stuff at Tesco in town. Bought too much and the ride home was a nightmareBlush. Been out cycling with the boys and DH tonight while the chicken was roasting. We went to a local holiday village to get info on the pool. All I need now is a beardWink

pixiestix · 20/08/2012 20:53

SCREEEEEEEEEEEAM!!!!!!!! Jodie!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations! I am over the moon for you. Wow, just wow! SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Right then, I've decided to do a food shop tomorrow morning, and make a batch of speed curry tomorrow afternoon whilst DS is napping. I've never made it before, and had almost lost the recipe thread, but here it is if anyone else needs a kick up the butt inspiration:

recipe linky

I've been awful again today, I just have zero willpower, and think I can scoff sweets and lose weight Hmm

Hope you've all had better days.

SlinkyB · 20/08/2012 21:32

Just seen no-one's posted any new recipes since Feb Shock

Any tips for making the mushy pea and bean/speed curry? Am thinking of putting some fresh chillies in there...but worried dp will call the wedding off due to the noxious gases I'm bound to emit ! (12 days to go and counting)

FairhairedandFrustrated · 20/08/2012 23:07

I made a brill KFC zinger style thingy in Saturday.

Easy peasy - chicken fillets dipped in egg and rolled in 6 tbsps of smash powder, 1tsp of white pepper, chilli and cayenne (I think) and repeated, sprayed with fry light & bunged in the oven.

Although maybe try half a tsp of the spices, it was a bit hot for me - though my nephew & dh liked it as hot as that.

Another good'ish day today after a not so good day yesterday.

Yesterday B: Fresh fruit salad and yoghurt
L: more fruit and a toasted soda (a small one) with butter and jam
D: potatoes, steak, chicken, peas, onions and tomatoes
Snack: some more toasted soda bread Blush
Glass of wine.... a small glass and only one!!

Today:
B: Banana & an apple with coffee
L: Salad with chicken, peppers, red onion, pineapple, sweetcorn, lettuce followed by a nectarine and a can of diet coke
S: pink lady apple
Dinner: new potatoes, peas, cauli, carrots, pork chop & gravy (syns)
Snack: Small ice-cream cone... Blush

I might weigh in tomorrow, as I don't think I'll make my wednesday night class this week. I need to commit to a class and make sure I go every week!! I think that's half my problem!

Clodaghdragonfly · 20/08/2012 23:09

nah slinks, might as well get him used to it now, and you'll have to put up with his. that whole wedding ring thing tilts the perspective on farting/nose picking etc. (Or, as my DM calls it, "letting Polly out of prison".

Clodaghdragonfly · 20/08/2012 23:17

sounds good FHF - is that free? and is it better than smash pizza ?

my DH is doing great, he has sort-of signed up to a 10k run, and after much -piss taking, mocking and genuine concern from me and the DC (he used to be super fit in the days pre-exW/injury, when he was still competing), he finally started training while we were away. Most of his chins have gone, though the moobs and gut are still there. He came cycling tonight! He is doing his own thing (fecking chef with training in nutritionHmm) and today I sneakily bought the Hairy Dieters book (not for me. lasagne with fecking leeks? Not when I can have SW lasagne!)

I wanna be a drag queen

kid · 21/08/2012 13:34

3 more days here until I have to head home to real life. I have a bit of a dodgy stomach at the moment which I figure will help reduce abiweiht gain Grin

I'm still doing some swimming several times a day. I'm definitely not a great swimmer but I'm working on it. We have found a lift to get us to our apartment instead the 75 stairs. We still have to tackle the steep hills so not completely lazy.

Best go, ds has challenged me to 10 lengths of the pool, might need a large drink when I finish!

SlinkyB · 21/08/2012 14:26

Hi all, feel really blue today, shit things keep happening to lovely people, and it makes me really sad. That poor boy who was swept out to sea, and a friend of a friend recently passed away suddenly, leaving behind her husband and two toddler boys Sad Plus all the other things on 'the other place' Sad

Thanks for recipe fhf - would you mind putting it on the recipe thread if you've time, please? Sounds like sort of thing dp and dss would adore.

clodagh Glad you're enjoying your cycling, I bought an old mountain bike off my niece's a couple of months back, but it's still in Wales (haven't been able to squeeze it in my car). Hopefully my dsis can bring it over in her van soon. I also can't walk in heels, and am far too lazy to learn. What's this sleep study then? Hope it helps!

Enjoy the last few days of your sunny hols kid

Clodaghdragonfly · 21/08/2012 17:10

Hi all. I am maybe not quite so silly todayHmm

Have collected the monitor - it is one of those that go "beep". DS2 has trouble with his adenoids and tonsils, and it's a test to see if they are affecting his oxygen levels when he is sleeping (I think).

We went for about an hours walk in the woods near the hospital, and I have been to the chemist on my bike. I might make that do for today. The little boys are at a party (fingers crossed they are good as it's a neighbour who is a tiny bit scary) and DS1 is barricaded in his room probaby watching something unsuitable on his laptop. I was going to make him JP and prawns for his tea, but I have lost the mayoConfused

DH made his and the boys picnic today - they had hairy dieters tuna nicoise salad wraps, complete with capers and gherkins. The little ones are far more sophisticated than DS1 and IBlush

Clodaghdragonfly · 21/08/2012 17:11

have a slinks

pixiestix · 21/08/2012 21:23

Fecking internet connection keeping breaking but a gentle for Slinky. I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I can't bear how unutterably cruel life is to beautiful, kind hearted people.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 22/08/2012 00:00

Hugs and pats to whoever needs them - sometimes no words are good enough to express what we want to say. So i'll do what my four sisters have got very good at doing to each other, squeeze your shoulder, shrug mine and say, will it ever bloody end?

Am in bed with laptop. Feel like going and helping myself to a pyrex bowl full of bad cereal. I lost 1.5lb tonight but when I had pix taken with my woman of the year I look like squat, fat dwarf - really need to get my finger out. I'm 10.5lb over target and need to do something about it.

How the feck am I meant to inspire others when I can't focus myself!!

TomDaleysTrunks · 22/08/2012 08:10

Morning all. Day of doom today. Huge gain after about a month of eating and no exercise. Sad. Anyway PM me your deets and I will publish later. Just about to hop on tube, wil be back

SlimJimBra · 22/08/2012 08:21

What a crap week for the DoDers :( good luck for WI everyone.

SlinkyB · 22/08/2012 13:52

Thanks for the hugs guys - they worked! Watched 'The Help last night too, and had a cathartic bawl.

Made the curry yesterday, tried a bit of it and seemed lovely (I added a fresh green chilli with seeds, and some garlic too). Going to have it with boiled rice for my lunch at work tomorrow and Friday . fhf Do you know if it would still be free if I used chickpeas/lentils instead of mushy peas? As dp won't touch anything to do with peas....But he loves chicken dhansak?! Hmm

fhf I've seen that pic and you don't look like a fat dwarf!! Far from it in fact, think you look lovely. No tips on how to focus atm I'm afraid though - I'm just as bad.

I think my scales must be broken, as I'm staying the same (near enough - 1lb difference either way) each week, but am eating rubbish and not exercising. That's definitely not a boast btw; my jeans are tighter and I feel bigger around my waist. Don't really want to buy new ones though.

Good luck everyone for the DoD.

Clodaghdragonfly · 22/08/2012 15:49

have PM'ed you TDT. A gain for me since last DoD WI, but I have dropped 1/2lb since Monday.

am not cycling today though, I feel like pooh. I would have a sneaky nap, but there are many children milling around.

kid · 22/08/2012 18:51

I can't wi this week but I did a lot of swimming today, a lot for me anyway. One sure way for me to know if I've gained this holiday will be when I try on my going home clothes which are the ones I wore coming here. I think I should have a backup outfit ready just incase LOL.

Good luck to everyone else with DoD, i fully intend on joining you next Wednesday with a big loss.

TomDaleysTrunks · 22/08/2012 22:40

Internet down. On DH phone.

Will do the list tomorrow lunch time. Only had 2 PMs

FairhairedandFrustrated · 22/08/2012 23:17

Slinky, yes, still free using chickpeas & lentils.

I had a bit of a dodgy day today - am going to try and remember what I ate!

Breakfast: A Peach

Lunch: My niece's birthday was today so we were there for lunch! I had a ham salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, spring onions and celery, 3 slices of lean ham and a baked potato. My sister put cheese in the potato without asking me.. so I'll have had syns there.

I had one cocktail sausage and a slice of bday cake - now it wasn't a huge slice, a sliver really!

Dinner was golden savoury rice and roasted peppers.

HEa: milk in coffee & tea
HEb: 2 rocky road hifi light bars

2 cans of diet coke.

So have more then likely went over my syns but tomorrow is a new day!

pixiestix · 23/08/2012 09:27

Thought I was too late, internet all screwy here too. Nothing very exciting from me list-wise though.

Where's our Bee?

Chocolatemakesmefat · 23/08/2012 09:57

And breathe.... I couldn't find you, you weren't there, when I went in to find thread it had disappeared! Poof....gone, thought you had been deleted :(

Ooo I was like a panicked child who had lost their Mum in the shops!

Anyway today will not be a good day as off to GBK for lunch would love to say I will minimise damage by not having chips but I won't as I will be Blush
