Here we are again - new thread time! Can you believe we're on our 9th one?

I've been down to DFS and got us some new squidgy sofas. Feel free to add anything else you like Grin

(Well a packet of custard creams really)

SlimJimBra · 26/09/2012 17:47

Woohoo welcome back hedge :)
FHF - I have a cons question for you - my cons only gives out certificates if you stay to group (otherwise you only get the sticker) she says this is 'policy' but I'm sure she didn't used to do it like that (I'm sure you used to get the cert the week after). Has the 'policy' changed or is she scrimping us? I have my suspicions she is over-milking the cash cow and cutting corners which makes me feel like a source of income and not a customer.

Chocolatemakesmefat · 26/09/2012 18:05

Have sent it TDT

kid · 26/09/2012 21:17

I'm totally messed up with my days, I didn't realise it was DoD until lunchtime!
I did go to the gym tonight and used the treadmill. I can not run but would like to, so I have been doing 1 minute intervals of running and walking for 20 minutes. Tonight was only my second session doing it but it was definitely easier than the last time. I also did some weights and other things suggested by the personal trainer.
I've got another class booked for tomorrow so I am really pleased with myself.
At the gym, they have a full length mirror so you are forced to look at yourself whether you like it or not. I was actually quite impressed with the change in my body shape. I just need to stick with it.

Foodwise has been a bit hit and miss lately. I had salad for lunch yesterday and today. I made sweet chilli chicken the other night (but had chips with it) No idea what I'll do tomorrow, I'll figure that out tomorrow.
I am in desperate need of shopping but am too busy to actually go. I guess online would be a good idea to do tonight.

TomDaleysTrunks · 26/09/2012 21:28

FairhairedandFrustrated · 26/09/2012 21:48

Hi all, welcome back hedge :)

J is in great form today, I spent the day with her and she came home for dinner. She has a scan tomorrow for her ovaries again as last one was unclear. Her cancer is hormonal so they're taking no chances thank goodness. She's had her 2nd dose of chemo and although the doctor detected no change in the lump, he felt a difference in the lymph nodes.

I had a car accident today. I feel so stupid. Totally my fault, I drove into the side of her at a road end. I looked left then right then pulled out, but she had came over the hill on my left fast and I drove right into her. Am shook up but not hurt, nor was she. At the time she was ok, but later on phone she was a cunt tad frustrating. I'll pay for damage to both cars, no question.

Slim, we buy the certificates, yes. There something like 70p for 10. Hardly the rent of the town! I give certificates to everyone, whether they stay or not, it's not going to break me or make me!!
Some consultants believe they should only be for members staying to group, but in my training we were told to give them to everyone, so I do :) it's a piece of paper that means so much to the members, do why not .

Today, surprisingly, has been a good day food wise, though not as much Superfree as I would have liked.

DOD for me tomorrow, good luck to everyone tonight!!!

Chocolatemakesmefat · 26/09/2012 22:02

Erm......SlimJim? what happened to following my 5 point plan? If I dont do it I at least expected you to keep it up for me Grin

Chocolatemakesmefat · 26/09/2012 22:08

FHF glad J had a good day, sounds like you had a bad one with the car mind, hope you not had too much of a shock you poor thing Thanks

Well done all you losers fabulous losses.

I've got to kick my arse back into gear as I am a bridesmaid next May. Hoping the fitting of the dress wont be till nearer the time, it will give me a chance to at least get to 2 stone off maybe 2 and a half if i'm lucky, then the trick is to maintain it arrrrgggghhhh

SlimJimBra · 26/09/2012 22:11

haha - sorry choc Blush I was enjoying having got to target! You see your 5-point plan was so good that I lost 2lb more than I needed to to get to target, so I was simply trying to get back to 10st :o

Riadiculous · 26/09/2012 22:13

glad to hear about J FHF.

well done everyone.

GTG - am knitting Shock (long story, I am not a knitter) and watching last nights Midsomer Murders with a cidreSmile

SlimJimBra · 26/09/2012 22:13

FHF - sorry to hear of the accident - its so easily done, esp when your mind is elsewhere. Thanks for the info on certs, I think my suspicions are being confirmed about my cons.

Riadiculous · 27/09/2012 07:35

morning all.

I am off for the day today with DH as he is going to the hospital for his ultrasound results, so I have taken the day off work and we're going into town too, that's assuming we can even get there/Consultant can get there due to the floods. Think I might be off-plan todayHmm, and I might have a party-picnic at the weekend if it's nice weather, but I really want that last lb gone this week

have a good daySmile

TomDaleysTrunks · 27/09/2012 10:20

fair annoying about the accident. Hope it gets sorted, glad you weren't hurt.
ria thinking positive thoughts for DH today.

Looong night up with poorly DD. her temp was 40c, we've watched cbeebies since 645 but she doesn't want to do anything else.

Food
B: weetabix and fruit (heb)
L: omelette and salad
D: quorn sausage and bean casserole, rice and cabbage.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 27/09/2012 14:16

Thanks for the concern folks, I'm a tad stiff & sore today, but I guess that's to be expected.

Ria, I hope dh's appt went ok.

Slim, do you normally stay to group? I know even if I have a visiting member in my group and they achieve an award they'll get a certificate, whether they stay or not :)

AimingForElegant · 27/09/2012 14:29

Sorry I missed the DOD last night! I had a great big annoying maintain, which considering I've sat in conferences next to plates of cookies and chocolate biscuits and ignored them in favour of a banana, and went to the cinema and didnt have ice cream (a first for me!) and been good all week I was a bit miffed about :( but hey ho - I'm sure I'll persevere.

GettinTrimmer · 27/09/2012 18:34

Hi all

It's been a while since I've wi on this thread, have been ill, walked out of a slimming world group as they insisted I pay for a missed week when I'd texted in sick, but did wi at my own group this week.

Have lost 2.5lb since my last wi about 3 weeks ago. I was quite poorly with mumps though, I think that's through being ill rather than diet.

I am trying desperately today to get back into the swing of it but have scoffed biscuits Blush and crisps today.

Aiming resisting those biscuits is admirable!

Hedgepig · 27/09/2012 21:30

Dusts off the group halo for aiming

I have had a good day biscuit count = zero , I must now go to bed before I start snacking

I'm going to a McMillian coffee thing tomorrow I will endeavour to drink black coffee and stuff DS2 full of cake while I have nothing, wish me luck Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 27/09/2012 21:47

Hedgepig your lucky ds2!! Wink

GT can I attempt to explain about the group asking you for a missed week? As you had text the consultant & not booked the holiday on your card the previous week (understandable if the missed week was unplanned & at short notice), then the holiday will only be on your consultant's system and not on your card - it seems you went to a group that wasn't your normal group, so they'd have no record of your holiday as the only info they have on you is on your card - does that make sense?

I lost half lb tonight. Start weight 11st 11.5lb, weight now 8st 7, target weight 8st.

kid · 27/09/2012 22:51

I had some of my dinner earlier but didn't finish it as I was going to a gym class. After the class, I came home had a bath and forgot all about the rest of my dinner until just now! Oh well, I guess thats lunch sorted for tomorrow.

I still haven't weighed myself, it has to be the longest I have been off the scales for. I don't for one minute believe I have lost anything at all, but I'll continue to stay off the scales and continue exercising instead.

Aiming, well don't for being so in control with all that temptation. I think just for that, you are entitled to a nice big loss next week.

Hope today went well Ria

FHF hope the car repairs aren't too expensive and that you aren't too sore.

DH is definitely over whooping cough now. Its only taken 4 bloody months but he is completely better now which is a huge relief. Nasty, nasty illness and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

Riadiculous · 28/09/2012 00:31

well done kid.

glad you are ok fhf and hope all is easily sorted.

DH had a very near miss today (luckily I wasn't there), a woman in an Audi pulled right out in front of him and he just managed to get out of the way (retail park slip road). They both pulled up to check for damage (none, thankfully), and she burst into tears and hugged him!

News not great from hospital - consultant gave DH 3 options, as the ultrasound told him nothing and he doesn't know where the problems are - do nothing, cortisone injections(which he's had before and they don't help), or full shoulder replacement, but he seems reluctant to commit (I think because DH has had so much work done already that it's not a straightforward replacement) so DH has to get a second opinion. But, it's nothing we weren't expecting really, will just carry on, and hopefully DH will get some more temping work soon

the flooding was impressive to see though, feel Sad for those affected. And I am very glad I'm not a city girl. We were meant to be having lunch, but all the diverted traffic mean we were very late (just time to buy wool! and a quick look round the yorkshire food festival), so DH bought us a snack from Greggs Blush and he got me a cup of tea in one of those cardboard cups with a lid. I managed to spill it out of the sipping hole and scald my handBlush !!!

Riadiculous · 28/09/2012 21:28

Hi guys. Hope you're all doing fab.

Not a great day today. Struggling to get back on plan (but I will, tomorrow). Had some bad news. My favourite Uncle who was having the tests has been told the cancer has spread to his bonesSad. I have no idea what this means really, and cannot ask as don't want to upset my mum. He has had his pain relief increased, and will be being referred for radiotherapy. His MacMillan nurse has said he will feel better in a month.

GOLDdebka · 28/09/2012 21:52

Sorry to jump on board, I was on this thread a while back and drifted off Blush but I lurk occasionally Blush Blush

Anyway ria couldn't not respond to your last post- cancer in bones is not too bad, compared to soft tissue. It's very slow growing and hopefully can be contained within the bones. Radiotherapy can give good pain relief. (my mum has secondary breast cancer in her bones, almost 4 years now she's been living a full and happy life with it, it doesn't necessarily mean a death sentence). Much love and sympathy xxx

Riadiculous · 28/09/2012 22:38

thanks for that debka. It's hard not to jump to worse-case-scenario.

welcome back to the thread. I saw your post on the haiy bikers chat - well done on your fab loss so farSmile

TomDaleysTrunks · 29/09/2012 05:22

debka how are you? Great to see you back here! How's things?

ria I second what debka says. Hopefully he will be more comfortable soon when the radiotherapy kicks in / increase in pain meds.

Dd still poorly Sad
